  • right humanites?

    Tell that to the chagossians.......

  • What happened to the Chagossians brings me shame to call myself British

  • To say that the people were shipped in to supply labour means they don't belong there is crap. If you follow that arguement then all the nations in the Caribbean should have forced excile, as they were populated by people shipped in from Africa. ie slaves.

Give the Chagos Islanders there home back. The yanks could even employ them on their military base instead of bringing in Philipinos...most of the people lived on other islands miles away from the base.

  • I came here to learn about the disposed Chagossians I read in Island of Shame: The Secret History of the U.S. Military Base on Diego Garcia

  • yeah right, watch "stealing a nation". the uk said that deigo garcia was a hazard to live on with its water levels, they built 2 gigantic expensive runways on it. when they forcefully removed the people who used to live on diego garcia they said it was "too expensive" to give it them back, when actually the goverment spends a total of 1.5 trillion every year. the island was peaceful and the only thing they bought were clothes and the uk and us just spoil it.

  • What a drunken mess that place was.

  • Comment removed

  • why are you idiots still arguing about this? it's a useless 26 square mile in the middle of NO WHERE. it's so useless that the USAF departed in the middle of a war. A strategic hold? I think not. The navy is only there getting drunk, cooking out, and having some poor Filipino guy mow the lawn.

The Brits do even less;cross-dress and get drunk.

The only thing that's there worth a damn is the ship that used to be in Guam. Another poor island nation...

Yes DG was stolen and we are there.

  • Transformers.

  • The answer after the Diago Garcia people got after they won a Brittish high court decision to go back home was, they cant.

Because they made it a marine park under everyones nose. This Island was explicitly labled as uninhabited when the treaty with the US was run through parliement and the removal pof the people was done under a cloak. The commonwealth was robbed by the ellite again. These little land holdings holdings that the Brittish hides from the commonwealth are being uncovered..

  • Yeah the original residence are still waiting on a dock to come back home. They are told that Diago cant sustain life and the brittish cant afford to restor the Island to its orginal people..

Look up stealing a nation by John Pilger and consider not buying any UK USA products.

It pays for these nations to lie to its peoples government and commit crimes to seal a treaty deal.. The treaty is nulled because both US and UK knowingly broke their own laws to enact the BIOT Island treaty.

  • Nice to see so many people on this island. What great facilities too. Do the native population get access to them too? and for free? Of course not, they got evicted from their homeland and currently reside in shanty towns on Mauritius. British Empire? British disgrace more like.

  • @Dg00nwid the people on the island are not native they where brought there as part of a french plantation. when Britain got the isles the people where just left there till they where kicked off 100 years later.

  • @Dg00nwid

One more time: The "native people" were tenants, and they got evicted. One more time: they did not own the place and never had. The place was uninhabited when it was discovered and people were brought there as labor. The laborers never owned a square inch of the place; it was an industrial plantation. Now it's a military base. Grow up.

  • I say kick the yanks out. Increase spending in the Royal Navy (Best in the world), and do the same with ascension and Gibraltar. The British empire for Britain. Not so the US can piggyback and call it their own.

  • I say kick the yanks out. Increase spending in the Royal Navy (Best in the world), and do the same with ascension and Gibraltar. The British empire for Britain. Not so the US can piggyback and call it their own.

  • DIEGO GARCIA is my full name LOL

  • Wow, this place looks way different than when I served my 12 month tour here back in 1980-1981!

  • When people find out about such wickedness that was done to the Chagossians, people can now see why Robert Mugabe did what he did to the Europeans in Zimbabwe.

  • @forevah

You talk like a fool. Robert Mugabe is an animal who should be shot on sight and then dragged through the streets.

  • @Americcan

You are an idiot. You should be shot dead by the native Indians and shipped back to Europe.

  • @forevah

I'm an idiot? Why don't you tell us what has happened to food production and exports in Rhodesia since the white people were murdered or escaped?

  • @Americcan

Zim produces Tobacco as its main export not food.

Look up this title in the BBC website ("Zimbabwe land reform 'not a failure')

Zimbabwe's economy is successfully rebounding and the shelves are full again. Thanks to the native African farmers and China (your future enemy that you owe a lot of money).

Why don't you tell us why the Europeans invaded Zimbabwe and established the "Natives Reserves Order and the "Land Apportionment Act of 1930". You Europeans are all thieves.

  • @forevah

I'm so happy for you. It's amazing what you can do with a huge handout of cash. In a couple of hundred years, you might even catch up.

  • @Americcan

Tell your govt to pay up it's trillions of debt and stop starting wars all over the world in the name of Western civilization (aka white supremacy), or else you will be begging China for food in a couple of hundred years.

  • We should rent it out to the Chinese, im sure they will give us a good price

  • And they say colonialism is a thing of the past

  • THE PEOPLE OF DIAGO GARCIA

were forced off the island by the British government so the American government could build a military base on the island in the 1960s later this was found in the courts to be a crime against humanity people were g...ranted the right to go home but the British government still will not allow them to go home!!!

  • @caiomherigpa. Speak the truth. Crime against humanity, my ass. The contract workers who used to work there had no work when the unprofitable plantation closed down. The unemployed workers would be living in poverty and the islands would be a dump now if they had not been moved to a populated island with some economy.

  • @meotaku2 How can you accept the fact that around 2000 people lost their homes? The territory belongs to your country. Can't your government re-energize its economy if its "unprofitable"

Racism is still running wild in the UK.

I would suggest you to do proper research on chagos islands before you mak dumb statements.

  • @caiomherigpa coolstorybro

  • @BillieBobSmith why your broke to you're nothing more then the 51st state.

  • Yanks are broke and can't afford the rent for the island.

    Yankee go home! Losers....

  • @CrazyHorseRunningBat rent? hell son we own you.

  • @TheIceman567 51st state? Other way round you ignorant fuck. We own you. You never stopped being a colony. Now that the Rothschild conquered you financially you're at the same whims as us now.

  • @stig781 Rothschild? Oh my god if you believe that shit you are a fucking retard. There is no proof. Now run along back to your Xbox Kiddo.

  • To all you crybabies if you want yo land back take it back. LOL. Good luck

  • Diego Garcia is a punk ass military joint. The Yanks and Brits need to high tail it on atta there and go home.

The land belongs to the people!

  • @CrazyHorseRunningBat whos gonna make us?

  • they are not indigenous, they are descendants of slaves brought there, it was uninhabited before then

  • @un3pical nevertheless what was done to the people there was very unjust.

  • @un3pical "they are descendants of slaves brought there"

    i.e. they're indigenous.

    "it was uninhabited before then"

That's true of all places expect for a small area of Africa. Go far enough back and we're all immigrants. This either means there's no such thing as indigenous peoples or your definition of indigenous people is wrong; I suggest it's the latter.

  • Get out of Diego Garcia you warfanatics!

You don't have any right to be there. It was a US/British suppressiopn plot againt the real inhabitants! The US is kicking human rights and lieing to the world.

The citizens were driven out of THEIR homes and send to Maurittius were they have nothing and even have to pay rent, while they had their homes in D.G. first.

These ruthless US warmongers and their british colonialist allies must be stopped by all people of the world wanting peace!

  • if the 2016 deadline is correct it's about time usa forces leave, just like the uk with hong kong your extension of any period is not wanted and should not be granted.

  • America is just as responsible as the British for the crimes done here

  • watch "stealiing a nation" a documentary on how the US/UK stole this island

  • this is where my man was deployed to wow how beautiful

  • why cant their me marines on that island, that would be a place i would want to be delployed when i join the marines at the end of the year

  • @75ranger101

yes, then maybe you can help eradicate the population of some other island! or just go kill some innocents in iraq or afghanistan! hoorah!

who cares right? it's all just one big video game!

  • @75ranger101 UMMM.... because it doesn't belong to you?? How about we make Ohio a Russian military outpost and kill/remove all the residents? It's about the same thing.

BTW "there" not "their" - don't join the marines, go and further your education, it will benefit you more in the long run - oh wait, maybe it's too expensive to do so, because your country spends all its money on the military, not education and health.

  • diego garcia is not the only place the US has committed atrocities and attempted to cover them up. (and done a mighty fine job i might add)

google "US CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY" then educate yourself to the truth that few americans are aware of, nor do they even seem to care. amen-ra?

    namaste

  • @flashoftruth

you can check out places like east timor too, good stuff! 'god bless america'?

  • @flashoftruth God Would not bless america, Please beleive that. As america's behavour last 50 years , One can say america is against humanity period..

  • @akeemdayer

let's be specific and much more accurate...GOVERNMENTS are against humanity, oh...and religion. 'god' would not bless anything, because as far as we know, none exist.

  • @flashoftruth There are plenty of arguments one could make for that. However, Diego Garcia belongs to the English. The United States didn't take Diego Garcia from anyone. So, if you're gonna point fingers, at least point them in the right direction so you don't make yourself look like a damn fool.

  • @Thrillcekr

it may "belong to the english" but it is mostly the US military that occupies it. not to mention that the US had a HUGE hand in the atrocities that were committed there, as we do when it comes to most atrocities. we are good at going incognito. just because there isn't a US stamp on it, doesn't mean we did not have a dirty hand involved. now the finger is pointed at you ;)

  • @flashoftruth You're wrong again. There are more English there than Americans there by quite a bit. We lease part of the base from the English. The United States didn't seize it and they didn't force those people off the island. They were gone before any Americans were even there. We've certainly been involved in our fiar share of shady goings on but Diego Garcia wasn't one of those. Again, do your homework.

  • "Stealing a Nation" by John Pilger

    On you tube. Wacht it!

    Dr John

    Bangkok

  • unfortunately, the website does not work... I am going to be assigned there and it would be helpful to be able to go to a useful website

  • They have it easy now...in '75 only two bldgs had had AC (NAVSECGRU - where I was, and the admin site); barracks were raised wood platforms with tin roofs...that was it...not to mention there were not WAVES there either...

  • I do apologize to the Irish for what I said about their nation. I am partially Scottish descent and I really shouldn't rip on fellow Celts that way. I have deleted the comments. I'm a bit shocked that my comments got so many thumbs up.

psychomillionaire just made me so angry because he was spewing hate about America that I overeacted.

psychomillionaire is still a douchebag, though. My apology is not to him, but to the millions of other Irish people that are decent and honorable people.

  • @dkrustyklown I was not spewing hate about America.I was merely stating few facts. The fact that it makes you angry is your problem.I could care less.

    Have a nice day :-)

  • I can't see Britain not renewing the agreement for the base in 2016. It's a great military asset and since we both are closely allied, we can both share the use and reap the benefits of it's position. About the population, they became British citizens and have claimed over £4 million so far and was resettled. They may or may not have wanted to leave and it's a shame. However, sometimes the security of Britain as a whole (including them) needs to take priority. They didn't get too bad a deal.

  • @AHickenUK

'they didn't get too bad a deal' ....are you kidding?

Most of the Chagossians died soon after they were forceably removed or committed suicide.

  • @richardandgeoff Never heard of that before

  • Diego Garcia belongs to Britain. Britain depopulated it. America merely rents the land from Britain.

  • @michelangeli23 Not quite. The US actually provided the ships that were used to transport the population of Diego Garcia to other islands.

The fact that the US can outsource its atrocities so doesn't absolve it of moral responsibility.

  • @michelangeli23 Wikipedia says that a US navy ship transported the last few natives off the Inland to Mauritius I have been to both Islands in 1981 on USS Walbash And we where ordered not to say anything To the Mauritius People about Diego Garcia. Sorry I did not follow orders and they where very nice people there. These people are very kind caring people. And they where done wrong. Being forced off there Island I as an American take no pride in this. They should get some sort of justice.

  • ive been there

  • evil empire.

  • The island is owned by and was depopulated by the United Kingdom, you idiots.

The United States merely leases the land.

But hey, keep Blaming America First™ while ignoring those pesky facts. After all, it's what you liberals do best.

  • this island belong to the indigenous Creole population which was refuged by the Brits and american nazis !!!!

  • @CapitanoGUC To say the is to say that America belongs to the Native Americans! But i dont see you on a boat back to england you hippy

  • What has been done to the inhabitants of this Island is inexcusable. When America wants oil they murder three quaters of a million people in Iraq. When they want land they kidnap the whole population and ship them out. What America wants America takes.Nothing changes.

  • i hope u got hit by tsunami and burn in afghanistan for stealing chagassian land..

  • this is a damn stolen black people land by british and americans............... one day justice will prevail.. for more information visit human right for chagassian people...

  • bastards

  • did diago garcia get hit by the 2005 tsunami?

  • In the 1960s Britain ethnically cleans the island of its population forcibly removing its 2000 inhabitants to shanty towns in Mauritius (1200 miles away) without compensation leaving many to die or live in squalor. Then it leased the island to the US.

Compare that to how it defended its citizens of the Falkland islands in 1982.

  • this is just like guantanamo a detention center for prisoner of war ........... shame to be an north american i can only say to us gov... not in my name mother f,.,.s

  • Beutiful island we pulled in there off of west pack when I was on the USS Ranger in 92. Stayed four days and a great base. The British Royal Navy great people. Had a good time there .

  • What a wonderful island!Great amenities.Swimming, surfing, free this free that.if you are a resident, except the residents were kidnapped and told never to return in 1969.

Its disgraceful what happened to the people of this island.I hope you got a good sun tan while not worrying about what was done to the people who lived there and were removed,in the name of spreading "democracy"

    Let the people go home.

  • Hey beutiful place and so what if a few coconut farmers were moved to surrounding islands so two of the biggest protectors of freedom the US and UK have taken up operations. Oh and yes I did get a great tan

  • Thats the hypocrocy of it all.The biggest proctectors of freedom fucked over the coconut farmers freedom and trampeled on possibly every right they are supposed to protect.

  • I belive they were forcibly moved into ghettos in Mauritius. With no rights and no proper compensation.

  • damn your lucky

  • Diego Garcia - to the Hindu people of Mauritius" NATO - robbery! Shame!

  • A new Hitlers concentration cam. I think, although, that Terezin or Oswienzim were more HUMANE than that place. From Here USA and NATO attacked innocent children - killing 3500 children in Yugoslavia with forbidden cluster bombs and 31000 DU-bombs and plutonium-bombs. Congratulations, barbarians!

  • Туда Англия дает вес остров под аренду Американцами а они создали самою болшую Военную Базу котороя сейчась сеет смерть и погром на вес Мир. От туда они бомбили Югославию, бомбит сейчась Афгханистанa и Иракa.

  • I was there in 1980 and there was not much there. Several different commands and lots of sand crabs. There were several things you could do there eg. sleep, eat, exercise, drink and go to the beach. There was no women, one TV channel, one radio station, no telephone and a bunch of guys living in barracks and plywood huts. Compare that to now and it is a proverbial paradise. It was a long 12 months. I did learn to play raquetball so it was not a total loss.

  • This island was not stolen. It was traded with the british in exchange for the independence of Mauritius in 1968. Then natives were forced to leave their homeland. They are still fighting for it in UK

  • @torredo09 the u.k received polaris missiles from the u.s. at a subsidised rate. to get the chagossians off the island the u.s scared the hell out of them by first rounding up all their dogs and gassing them. they told the chagossians they would be next if they refused to get on prison hulks bound for the slums of mauritius. this is all verified in john pilger's excellent 'freedom next time.' sorry if you were lied to.

  • this video is pure navy propoganda.

i was stationed there. The Brits should give it back...DG blows ass.

  • Well said.

  • The establishment of Diego Garcia as a staging area for the Middle East coincided with the construction of the World Trade Center in New York City.

Mr. Rockefeller was a busy man.

  • boo hoo. americans should listen to Jack from A Few Good Men: "I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you," and went on your way."

  • "He who joyfully marches to music in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would fully suffice. This disgrace to civilization should be done away with at once. Heroism at command, senseless brutality, deplorable loce-of-country stance, how violently I hate all this, how despicable and ignoble war is; I would rather be torn to shreds than be a part of so base an action!

  • It is my conviction that killing under the cloak of war is nothing but an act of murder."

    -- Albert Einstein

  • @nomoreterrorism Yet it was Einstein that was the prime mover behind the development of the atomic bomb, through his letter to FDR in 1939, which led to its development and use. Strange how pacifists can play such an important role in developing new and more devastating weaponry, isn't it?

  • @dmw11111 He knew Heisenberg and his capabilities so he was simply afraid if Nazigermany would develop this weapon sooner than they got it..

  • type this in youtube module ***Stealing a Nation***. to ee the truth. we did nothing wrong. I am proud to be a mauritian. we will get back our island someday

  • this island is stolen from maritius. it doesnot belong neither to british nor to american, you can even see the islanders dancing infront of a mauritian flag. They stole it from mauritius. Most of the islanders were forced to leave the island and go to mauritius. what a shame from U.S and British goverment.

  • a lot of you sound ignorant... Diego Garcia is a British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT).. if anyone is keeping the chagossians away it is the british..

  • Covering up the british is the same as doing the crime. "Oh, let's take a look while british people clean us the island. We paid, in 1966, 14 million dollars for it!!"

Someday, U.S. will get what it deserves.

  • You paid to have a base there. Idiot.

  • Not mention of the mass killing of Diego Garcia's resident's dogs. I wonder why...

  • Youtube "stealing a nation " to see the truth about Diego Garcia

  • This video makes me feel physically ill.

  • I agree. These American bastards need to give it back to the islanders. This video is sick propaganda

  • LOL. These "American bastards" are just "guests" on a British territory. :)

  • This island has been stolen from the islanders. The Americans are trespassing. This is yet another example of Americas and Britians diregard for human rights

  • i know. its disgusting. if the person who wrote this video is able to sleep at night, thats even more disgusting.

  • Your video is incomplete. I didn't see anything in the video about the injustice done to the indigenous people of the island when the British leased it to the U.S.

Watch "Stealing a Nation" by John Pilger

    freedocumentaries . org / film . php?id=166

  • Me cago en la puta... una isla con mi nombre y tiene que ser de los yankees e ingleses... tendré que ir a reclamar derechos de autor o algo de eso...

  • Ignorance covers this island, to the people who have been there and the people who haven't, such as most of the posters to D.G. videos on YouTube.

People aren't told of the Chagosian displacement.

At this point, it's a joint base, U.K. and U.S., used for various operations, mostly just as a rest stop.

The U.S. had a tiny communications post there before the U.K. came in to clear it and lease it to the U.S.

It's up to the U.K. to give the land back.

  • Correct!

Have you watched the youtube video:

"Stealing a Nation" by John Pilger

Also the website they quote in this video has no mention, in it's history section, of the local indigenous people and how they were removed from the Island to build a billion dollar base to gain a foot into the region!

Please read the full history of this island and it's "take over" if at all interested!

  • You see they lost their battle yesterday ? Poor bastards. They have told the that the island is a colony that is legal once it's protecting Britan, then the US said the island could be usefull to terrorists. Pilger is the man.

  • No I did not, have you got a link you can send me please! Thanks for info!

  • Thanks for the comments everyone. Keep 'em coming! Be nice to each other as well. I have added a few annotations to the video. Enjoy!

  • funny thing. The video completely fails to mention how it actually forced most of the native population off the island. And even though the British high court ruled in favour of letting the indigenous population return - both the American government and British armed forces forces do not recognise this. It is a disgrace - no wonder the world hates us.

  • no the island is needed it's not a Disgrace. the island has saved more lives then number thsoe ppl.

  • Saved who? We bomb Iraq and Afghanistan form here. Neither of whom have ever attacked either the UK or America or have the means to do so. Iraq did not have WMD and most of the 911 hijackers came from Saudi. Don't try to just justify evil acts with a lesser evil act - that is the route to tyranny. And what exactly is it needed for? I re-iterate thats why the world hates us!

  • the Island has been used in many wars sinking German U-boats in ww2 an search an rescue up to thsi very day. also WMD's componets were moved out of Iraq 2 weeks ago smartass. you need to keep up. the Island is also a very very startigic center.

  • WW2 was over 60 years ago!?! WMD components were moved out of iraq? wasn't on any international newspaper i've read. Don't swear at me (im scottish believe me i could cuss you under the table), keep it civil. I never said the island wasn't strategic - But what is the strategy - carpet bombing the middle east wont achieve anything other than constant war. I've seen your home page you seem to be amazed with weaponary. Roosevelt warned this time would come y'know - the military industrial complex.

  • the remaining radioactive debris at the former Tuwaitha nuclear complex about 12 miles south of Baghdad. had yellow cakes an other such matierals. the stuff was moved to Diego Garcia from there to a Canadian site in Canada. it it was on the news.

  • Ive just googled WMD in Iraq and components of WMD found etc. on google - there were no results since 2006 i.e. the initial allegations. Iraq had nuclear power stations we knew this - they did not have the capability to convert to weapons grade. Additionally they could not attack US or UK - they do not have long range missles. They were bombed back to the stoneage in the first gulf war and did not have the capability to begin a WMD programme.

  • check out MSNBC or other populaar news site the sotry was up about 3 weeks ago now. the Uranium as were in old Soviet Containers. that have been moved to Canada

  • Furthermore i think it would have been reported in the uk and been front page news on EVERY newspaper. As im sure you know the individual responsible for the original report about WMD in iraq was david kelly a british scientist who claimed WMD could be fired at the west in 45 min. he later retracted his whole white paper and resigned from the government and then committed "suicide" in the woods. If what you say was true both governments and their media would have shouted this from the rooftops.

  • stolen property wait till 5 billion indians invade

  • Oh, we can see by this video this terrible, inhospitable island that the original inhabitants can't return there.. Look, how the place is sinking.. what a shame.. Yeah, but they can stage a war against the Arabs from there, no problem and have a wonderful time there too..

  • Wait....If the islands are British, Why don't they drive on the left?

  • GO SEABEES

  • The funny thing, Have you ever been to DG? Without out side help the island would not keep any one alive but a very small population of people. How big do you thing DG is?

  • go back to ur fuckin india lol aids made in india

  • well, quite interesting the diego garcia's story (funny name, it is in spain like john smith in eng). those people were the last thing they british and americans wanted in the atoll. the chagossians have suffered a lot after 30 years of living in a strange country. the were cheated, cos they were just poor people. they deserve a solution.

  • Diego Garcia is not a sovereign state. Diego Garcia is since 1965 a Great Britain "territory". Which makes the natives British Citizens. Furthermore, Under British law it is forbiding the removal of British citizens from British soil. This is the same argument England used in the Falkland Island in 1982.Noone is saying they should own the Island, but they do have claim to the island as Britons. SHAME ON ENGLAND AND THE UNITED STATE's hunger for war

  • Shame on England or the UK?

Your information or understanding of it is basic at best.

Do some research before posting drivel.

  • I meant Great Britain, sorry I've made a mistake. Sorry for the "drivel" my apeal for forginess goes to all YouTubers , have mega day!

  • USA will never dominate other countries. It will try to help the nation to regain power and to defeat the dictators so that every one may live in peace wherever he resides on this planet. God bless USA!!

  • i agree with what you said and its nice that you understand the logic behind the conflict. However there is one difference between Falklands and Diego Garcia-- the color of the skins of the inhabitants. the Falklands people that Britain fought for were white people of british origins and those in Diego Garcia were of former black slaves origins and indians who came there as cheap labor. Britain contradicts herself in everything. what gives her the right to chose who has rights and who doesnt?

  • UR completely right my friend! UK only take advantage of the weak. They will help only when they can obtain a perceived value in return. They inflicted so much pain around the world(China, India, Argentina, Africa and surroundings) for centuries. It is difficult to have faith and trust in this type of country.

  • i wonder what they are doing in Iraq, Afghanistan. there will never be peace on this earth as long as the USA refuse accept that not everyone wants to live "the American way of life. Not everyone wants to be an America". If America wants to be respected in her effort to bring peace she should lead by example. Oppression and violence only cultivate oppression and violence. let each country make their own choices. let us be free to follow our own path. Fix the USA first become trying to fix us

  • America needs to leave the island in 2016 and give it back to the indigenous population. As for the UK they should not give it independence until the Island has been given proper support to rebuild in the form of reperations: This truely is an appaling affair.

  • hang on ichecku22 hongkong was so successful because of the frame work the british had enabled the people to live under! ie a judicial system, democracy and a free market economy! under chinese rule hong kong would of been a backward communist mess and not the thriving place it now is! to prove my point look at how the mainland had done in comparison!!! you need to remember this before going on your anti british rants!

  • Here's a good story on thehistory of Diego Garcia. Watch the movie "Stealing a Nation" I am American and my family was U.S.Navy for three generations and I am shocked.

  • U R right on this point! However, you had no choice than to fully develop this island to create opportunities and to reap the rewards after just like Diego!

  • The greatest culprit is the UK. They pretend that the inhabitants gave up their right. Can we give up our right really? Just think, can we give up our right to live? Is this possible?

  • It's shameful what the Brits did to the inhabitants of Diego Garcia

  • and they are still receiving money from The USA for the leasing of this island. I have seen these people in Mauritius. They are in extreme poverty and cannot keep trend with the Mauritian people. It's a pity!!

  • It's like when the government needs your land to build a highway...they CAN just take it.

  • They don't take it.They buy it off you.America steals everything.Still haven't managed to get the Iraq oil law passed yet though.

  • GOOGLE "stealing diego garcia" and watch the documentary. The takeover was crazy.

  • I won't deny that the island does not belong to the USA. It is Brit all the way! Always has been. We just pay rent. The Brits used to use it (in the past) to deport people with plague and leprosy to, but since the plague and leprosy is gone from the empire, it's up for rent. Figured we'd use it for now. Cheers!

  • "Figured we'd use it for now"? Like you use the rest of the world for your own ends? It'll be PAY UP time one day. And as a DEBT RIDDEN militarist country, you won't be able to afford the financial debt let alone your population affording to make amends for the MORAL debt. No tears of sympathy from me.

  • Shut uo man, no one cares who owns a little atoll. At least the Chinese don't have it.

  • The only language a bright spark like you would understand is reciprocal insults. I couldn't be bothered.

  • Try getting a life instead of fussing about an atoll

  • My "getting a life" involved spending time on this atoll. At least when I comment on an issue, I've lived it (or at least know something about it). Looking at your bio my young brainless friend, your the one who needs to "get a life". Are you still reading James Bond books? Or dreaming of being a Colin McNab? Do you even know how to spell "terror" let alone be able to define it? Indeed my friend, GET A LIFE!

  • Where the FUCK did James Bond come into this conversation? LOL! So according to you, I have to experience every single possible thing in life to comment on it? rofl!

  • I am so happy that China is the most powerful nation on Earth. They used military threat to urge UK to give up Hong Kong which is now part of China. It's really sad that the inhabitants of Diego don't have the same opportunity to threaten UK.
