  • Another beautiful video my friend , Thankyou.

  • Nicely decorated vid ^_~ Really enjoyed it--smooth & lovely!

Thanks for sharing! I alwayz enjoyed Lana & Clark Gable together!

Thumbs up! Hugzzzz, Lady E --[--@

  • It wasn't Frank's tribute to Lana. It's Dennis and Adair's to Billie Holiday. See RX7Qball's post; he's right on.

  • @postbopjazz, yes, but when Sinatra recorded it, he had Lana Turner in mind. I'm not disputing the song being a tribute originally to Billie Holliday, just what it represented to Sinatra.

  • @Muirmaiden - fair enough- thanks for posting it!

  • @postbop, you're very welcome.

  • Beautiful! I had no idea Frank recorded this with Dorsey. It's my favorite song. And how appropriate it is for a tribute to the lovely Lana.

  • Matt Dennis and Tom Adair wrote this song. Matt Dennis performance of this is much better. As for the story behind the song.

Dennis and Adair had gone to see Billie Holiday perform, reaching the club in a snowstorm. Adair had bought some violets for his date and he commented that he would like to pin them on Holiday's fur. This led to Violets for your furs.

  • There's two things with beauty here: Lana and Frank's voice.

  • Beautiful tribute to Lana!

  • She was soooo pretty!

  • What a BEAUTIFUL video.

The song and the pictures were just exquisite.

    Loved it! 5 Stars!!!

  • Lana's beauty was incomparable, and this video displays that very well. I love it. Great job as usual....5 stars!

  • Thanks Colleen, a very lovely video.

  • Beautiful tribute to Lana. I really love those early pictures of her - just beautiful !

    Thank you -- 5 *****

  • what i would give to look like Lana- perfection! Charming video

  • Magnificent video with a wonderful song for a beautiful lady! Thanks for another excellent tribute to the gorgeous Lana!!

    Love Sinatra, too!

  • A beautiful song for a gorgeous lady. Frankie with Tommy Dorsey, the sweetest clarinet sound of the swing era aka Johnny Mince playing the lead voice of the background ...

Great times, sad times, an era plagued by a cruel war but also dearly remembered because of romantic sounds like these.

  • Lana was wonderful! One of the most beautiful faces ever! Always love Sinatra too =)
