the first time I heard this song I thought the message sounded all ominous and stuff... and then I found out what nicko was really saying. haha. I still really love this song, it's one of my favorites by Iron Maiden <3
@czw321 Yeah, that's the end of it (or the beginning, backwards, I suppose). It's Nicko McBrain drunk, doing a bad Idi Amin impression. I think the other part goes "What ho said the ting wit the tree bonks," which is like "hey, said the thing with the three heads."
@OneEyedJack1970 Not 100% sure, Nicko always finds a way to make his voice heard on albums. On Losfer Words and Wildest Dreams he does the 1,2,3,4 count and Thin Line Between Love and Hate he says "Fuck I fucking missed it".
The talent of this band cannot be matched! This is why they have had such a long career and are still at it! I first fell in love with the music between 25 and 30 years ago and still love it today! Its been 7 months since I last saw them live and can't wait to see them again!
Me and my girl, are still here.We have two beutiful children, that can,t stand us,when we listen to this song,Don't take the devils hand, take your parents will All Go together.O.M.G My Parents are nuts,Question Is Are We?
@dipshit776 hell now your kids just dont know good music im going to be 21 in feb and my little girl and wife cant stand this type of music but me and my little boy love this kind of music, im just a metal head an will always be till the day i die.
What I've just realized about this band is that some of their stuff isn't all that impressive at first, but after listening to 2 or 3 songs in a row I start to get really addicted and want to hear more and more
I saw them powerslave-twice, somewhere in tme, fear of the dark,oz fest, somewhere back in time tour, and the final frontier all i can say is 1 word awesome, fucking awesome up the irons!!
man bruce dickinson is one of the top 5 rock singers ever, anybody notice how on that will ferrell cowbell sketch chris walken's name was bruce dickinson and the joke was he was a nobody? lol if they only knew
@bonillaortiz The production engineer of the Blue Oyster Cult re-issue/greatest hits CD's was also named Bruce Dickenson. He's not the same Brucie from Maiden that we love. The guys from SNL thought Bruce Dickenson produced the original albums as opposed to Sandy Pearlman who actually did.
I was still in elementary school when I got Piece of Mind and then Powerslave. Iron Maiden is and always will be classic heavy metal at its best! I also had the door sized poster for Powerslave back in 84!
@desertfunk74 I was in elementary school and a kid brought quiet riot, metal health to school. we were in like first or second grade singin come on feel the noise, girls drop ya draws.
What ho sed de t'ing wid de t'ree bonce...Don't meddle wid t'ings you don't understand (This is what Nicko said at the beginning)
-------
In 1983 Iron Maiden popped a backwards message at the beginning of the song "Still Life" on their album "Piece of Mind". It was in response to them being accused of being Satanists; a very drunk drummer (Nikko McBrain) gave his Idi Amin impression and belched into a microphone; this was duly backmasked and incorporated into the album to excite the Christians!
@Metal4902 interesting, hot on the heels of the whole scandal where those kids killed each other cuz judas priest songs told em to? or was that after?
@bonillaortiz piece of mind was released in 1983. and that gunshot incident happened in 1985.They probably put this because of accusations by christians that metal holds subliminal messages :)
@TheCozybear65 - I hear you old timer, I was (am) a huge Maiden fan. I saw them twice, Wasted Years and Seventh Son tours. My parents wouldn't let me go to anything earlier (Powerslave, Piece of Mind, Number of the Beast, ect.) Rock on brother!!!
Oh this was my favorite song..one summer I played this one and over..

Notice how you can understand every word Dickensen sings. When a singer can do that and still rip it, Dickensen, Dio, Tate, it sets you apart.
