You can feel that Roger Cicero was angry that Götz Alsmann obviously didn't know the song at all and totally botched it with that bungling on the piano. And rightfully so! Can't Alsmann rehearse? He's a much better piano player than this actually, but this performance is outrageously bad and does absolutely no justice to Roger Cicero's vocal qualities. So two thumbs up, Roger -- and two thumbs down, Götz!

When his Album "Beziehungsweise" did come out, I bought it as a present on my dad's birthday:

"don't know, if you know Eugen Cicero. This is his son Roger."

I don't know, if this fits to any dad. Mine haunts for things like Duke E. and B. Goodman in his youth. Not easy through all the times in Germany.

AngusTCat I think the prospect of having a concert in North America should not be deterred by a small population of German speaking people. He sings in English too and his major influences are mostly English speaking singers in Swing, Jazz and Blues.

Haay. I saw him in concert once in Berlin when I was a student and then saw him skyrocket to fame after the Eurovision contest.

You can hear - Roger Cicero is full professional, even it is more or less a capella,... forget the horrible piano. Usually Götz is a better pianoplayer...LOL! Poor Roger!.
