In reality who cares what it's called as long as the music's good. I'm not a huge fan of this style as it does all sound the same and just big breakdowns all the time but that's personal preference. Saw Parkway Drive the other night and they were amazing! Hadn't seen them for a long long time since they supported Hatebreed years ago. Good on 'em. They are a great band.

The whole hardcore thing has chnged a lot. A lot of these bands like Parkway Drive, Confession, Hand of Mercy etc.. are more metalcore than hardcore. There are hints of hardcore in there but are more metal than hardcore. Current bands that play hardcore are 50 Lions, Blkout and bands like that.. There's always going to be that crossover. It's the way hardcore has evolved. Aussie bands like Minsdnare, Not For You, Ultimatum many moons ago started new school hardcore genre and it's just evolved.
