Thank you for posting this Yannickharv. I saw Dr. Luke at this years ASCAP I creat e music and it was one hour that highlighted my year so far. He thinks pop music and I hope to some day do the same. He is also very open about sharing his techniques and skills which not all producers do.

Terrible, radio is what really killed music they played these songs like they were the only musicians on the planet. You have to hunt around to find good music now. A bass, a clash, and a tempo, not too much talent Dr Luke has the record industry marketing behind him. these artist are big because the songs are played every other minute and their faces are plastered everywhere. Eventually your going to run out of songs their Dr. Luke.

That has something to do with it...a hit cant be a hit sitting in the basement. It has to be EXPOSED. Radio creates hits. But "radio friendly" pop songs are NOT easy to create. There is a reason why some songs sell and some songs dont. Believe it or not, there is a formula for creating pop music. There are a lot of characteristics that all pop songs have.
