Interesting you put "Didn't think it would turn out bad" to photos of him and Fiona Apple - from what I understand she turned to her recording company because she wanted Brion's initial production (the unreleased versions) of her album changed (this is internet gossip, so a pinch of salt). thats because jon brion references the beatles a lot in his production and songwriting--- he studied the entire beatles catalog. he knows every part of every song by heart. so i highly doubt that if it sounds like "girl," its a mistake.
