Mp3 player, if it was touch pad, it won't last for so long, i changed my 20gb creative for that, and the other one, Microphoto started to have the same problem, but what screws my mind, the price of 160Gb iPod is same as 32Gb sony. why? and which one to buy? no one knows.

i have 2 product from creative, it is zen micro and the zen vision:m 30gb..for me, this mp3/mp4 player much more better than apple product...not just the mp3/mp4 player,try look at the speakers,sound card,camera and many more....

well, i'd definitely go for creative zen. But between ipod touch and creative vision M, i'd prefer iTouch. I'm willing to sacrifice the quality, as long as the player that i bought will last long. I own Vision M 60GB, and since it's a hard disk, it will easily broke.Especially if i drop, or i shake it too much (this means, i can't bring my zen vision M when i go out jogging). As the hard disk is soo fragile. Ipod touch on the other hand, uses flash memory. it's definitely more durable.

I've seen this Zen and what I can say is: yes is nice but Ipod Touch is a lot better. Besides, if you are worry about disk space, there is the Ipod Classic with 160GB or the new touch with 32GB and be sure apple will increase it soon. And you will make sure you buying something good. What more can you ask for?

I own a ZEN Vision:M, and I have never had any problems with it having a hard drive. I use it when I'm exercising and have even dropped it a couple times (on concrete, while playing) and have had no problems whatsoever. It's got a few scratches along the sides, but the player's never had any problems, exhibiting very good durability.

Looks aren't everything. You can have the prettiest player in the world but that means nothing if it doesn't do what it's supposed to do good. The ipod has the worst sound quality I've ever heard, barely any bass, and you have to use itunes for music, nothing else.

insead of dragging all you songs on you mp3 you can just sync your whole music library to your ipod. the new ipod classic better display, more battery life, and wayy more hard drive space than the zen. plus the ipod has games and lots of other features like a stop timer ...etc

the ipod comes with 3 games for free and extra games only cost $5. And a timer is WAY more useful than a radio if you jog while listening to music you can time yourself. The radio uses much less power than the hard drive. If your player runs out of battery power, switching it to radio mode can power it for another hour (since the hard drive switches off when it's in the radio mode). The games are so pointless they aren't even worth mentioning. The only halfway decent game on the iPod is the music quiz, and that gets boring.

iTunes is a restriction indeed. A clunky interface, and you can't sync your music from your player to your computer without going through a shitload of stuff. The Zen also natively supports DivX, which is much better than the strict iPod-only format that iPods support. The Zen's navigational controls, once you get used to them, provide much faster browsing through your music. I've seen both worlds (iPod 60 gig, Zen 60 gig), and I'm sticking with the Zen.

I agree with all of the above, and 4 other things:

6. Not enslaved to using only 1 media source (ahem.. iTunes).

7. Way more audio formats supported

8. The Zen V:M sounds much better than the iPod. -- Creative has much more experience with audio chipsets/hardware.

9. The Zen V:M has better shock absorption for its hard drive than the iPod, and is more resistant to physical damage. This is a tradeoff for making a thin mp3 player.

You can't really compare the both of them. Each got their own pros and cons. For ipod, it's much more portable compared to the creative zen vision. If you are looking for portability like me, apple is better. If looking for gadget type, go for zen , it have much more function to play with! But in the end, i still prefer ipod though.

(Cut me off for ErosJC's comment) It plays videos, has WiFi, removable storage (meaning that once you use up the prestored 8 gigs, you can carry a few 1 inch by 1 inch cards in your pocket) with movies or music. Flash based memory does not get damaged while traveling, and is much smaller and more portable.

You provide an interesting comparison. Comparing portability, both players should fit snugly into a pocket. As they are both harddrive based however, it's very dangerous to do so while jogging. The iPod is thinner by a few MM's, while stuck with a lot less features. If you're planning on portability, a Sansa may be your best bet, with a flash based removable SD card, and at only $100.

If you look at it this way, i prefer ipod due to it's portability and also for me, ipod is more user friendly rather then zen. Even though ipod doesn't have that much of function, it have some external stuff( which is like blood sucker) but well..it can be compared to Ipod..At least it doesn't stuck to my pants like zen which is soo freaking bulky...And also, it is a MP4 not MP3..zzzzz

The fact that the Vision:M has 244.000 colors on the screen makes it better that the iPod with 60.000 colors... And the USB Host is not only for Digital Cameras. I think that the screen its the main reason why the Vision:M is better... and of course, all the extras... iPod suck...
