Xandria are alot like nightwish. I just discovered this band today by accident, and ive already fallen in love with three of their songs. Im actually quite surprised on what ive been missing out on!

@xdarkxbluex Hey, Dark Passion Play was an awesome album, too. Just because the blend is a bit tweaked by the change in voice doesn't mean Nightwish isn't amazing anymore. However, I do agree that I will always have great fondness for the more operatic sound that Tarja imbued the band's music with.

@amimizunofan22 It wasn't bad, i'll admit that. I was excited when I heard amaranth on an itunes radio channel and realized they had new material out. I don't really like annette's voice, though. It's very one-dimensional. I notice that I liked the songs where tuomas sang, though he's not the best singer either.

@ChienesSaventPas By one-dimensional, what do you mean? I can't say that Tarja's singing ever deviated a WHOLE lot from her trademark operatic sound.

LOL Too bad Tuomas probably won't ever sing on an album again then, right? He has stated that he absolutely hated having to sing, poor guy. I'm glad Hietala was able to take that burden off of him. But yes, I enjoyed the tracks he sang on, below-average quality notwithstanding. XD

@amimizunofan22 What I mean by one-dimensional is that there was no 'depth' to it. A subjective quality, I know, but my main beef was that Annette's singing didn't make me feel anything. When I looked, there was nothing past the obvious. In my opinion, she lacks subtlety. Her voice is blatant, flashy.

Perhaps my opinions are colored by the nature of the lyrics of the album, as well. Many of the songs were vengeful, petty. unworthy of the band that's done Nemo and Gethsemane

@ChienesSaventPas I suppose that, after so many years and albums with Tarja's vocals heading up the group's sound, anything else has the potential to seem...inferior? The band's unique sound was partially lost when she left. Thankfully their music still has the Nightwish flavor, but it was inevitable that some people wouldn't like the change.

Well, the lyrics are somewhat to be expected after that whole scenario. I'm sure the lyrics will have matured once Imaginarium comes out, though. :)

I must say, I didn't know Xandria until last friday. They supported Kamelot (my favourite band) in Bochum, Germany. But Kerstins voice is really beautiful. In my opinion she sounds even much better life than on the record! I hope to see Xandria again, they're really great - not as good as Kamelot but hey, Kamelot exists much longer than Xandria :)

Wow! I This is an awsome song! I love how bands like this combine genres, and at the same time as being famous use tallent unlike so many bands! I love how the flute is used and it kind of mixes folky music with metal! awsum!
