I agree 100% about the friendship thing. But what happens when ur best friend gets a bf and then does a comple 180, changes (for the worse) and then you can't really stand him or have anything in common anymore? Is it time to say goodbye or do u try to work on it (even tho u tried before and confronted him but nothing has changed)? He was probably the only close gay friend i had and now I don't even have that.
I re-posted this heroic video on the ManKind Project Facebook fan page with the following quote:
The truest measure of a man, indeed of a person, is not whom he lies down with but what he stands up for. If we must be judged, let it be in this way. And when we fall short, as we sometimes will, because humanity is fallible, let us greet each other with compassion and encouragement rather than ridicule and resentment. --Charles M. Blow
I live in San Francisco. I'm generally considered pretty attractive in an unconventional "nerdy" way. However, I have a huge physical flaw that makes me intensely self-conscious.
Rather than be afraid of what I look like, I want to go out, enjoy myself, and be free in this freest of all cities. Thank you for reminding me that this viewpoint is healthy.
This is an incredibly insightful response. Thank you for sharing this perspective. I am grateful! I would like to recommend a book that helped me a great deal called Gay Warrior: Transforming Betrayal Into Wisdom and The Velvet Rage: Overcoming the Pain of Growing Up Gay in a Straight Man's World by Alan Downs
When I was 14 I've had a little problem with acne... now I am 18 and I'm quite good looking. Superficial Girls (still not publicly out) that before never talked to me, now keep texting me and I'm too kind to tell them to GTFO!
Ok, now i look good. But It wasn't always like that. When I was fourteen i kept saying myself that beauty is not a merit, is not something that makes you "more" than someone else. And it's true!
BTW... Even the hottest guy with a shitty personality lose all his hotness
That is a great message! I would like to add that the "straight" community typically only sees the hedonistic and vain side of gay people through things like pride parades. Please heed the message and be of service to your community. Positive participation in both gay causes as well as causes that affect the community at large are ways to change the hearts of heteros and other gays alike. This will help to improve your own feelings of self worth and make you a better person. Thanks.
Fantastic video response. Thank you for making this. Shared it with my Facebook friends.
You summed it up nicely with "The body may be a great place to start, but it's a terrible place to stop." There is SO much more to life than how we look; we must always find ways to increase the value of ourselves. Once again, thank you!
I found a pair of jeans in my closet today that I didn't know I had. When I tried it on - wink - they fit really great - perfect- I'd say.

Thanks, I've been feeling very down lately and this video has helped me. I'm hoping to find a close friend one day I can be comfortable with.
