  • Whether she loved him or not is not what matters most. Even for love, she would have been crazy to renounce her special place in the royal family if not her HRH style and her income. What seems to be ingratude is just logic. Did a commoner twice divorced with playboy manners worth the challenge ? Surely not.

  • Mean-spirited.

  • I thnk Margaret was a lot of fun...I'd have a beer with her!!!

  • Documentary is very anti-Margaret. Did it ever occur to these people saying she didn't love Peter enough, that perhaps she didn't want to hurt her mother by choosing to do the same thing that her uncle had done 2 decades earlier?

  • @LyricalXilence It's also incorrect, but it isn't very widely known that she did NOT have to give up her HRH or civil list income. It is, however, not clear whether or not the government had informed her of their decision in those matters. It is quite clear that Margaret's attraction had cooled and did not seem worth alienating herself from her family and role. I did once, see an interview with Townsend, and he was so charming and cute in his old age it made me wish they had married.

  • @LyricalXilence couldn't have said it better myself!
