  • What's the name of the guy in the back seat who's telling the stories?

  • this is really awesome i have watched the chase video of this soooo many times its interesting to hear the guys they picked up story!! im so sorry this happened to you but thank the storm chasers who are out there trying to learn the science of these things so we can save more lives

  • so much talk of falling to their knees and praying and god .... their god sent the storm in the first place right ...? The religious are always the most blind to reality

  • @indyfan22k it was either another town or this town but i know one town was so damged they just abandoned it.

  • You can still see deformed trees in Moore ok even ten years later

  • The trees look really eerie the way they are starting to grow back out but had been stripped of everything. Amazing the size of that tornado. The OKC tornado of 1999 was stronger, but this one was physically among the largest ever at 1 1/2 mile wide.

  • ROFL

    NICE

  • True, the most powerful tornado occurred on May 3, 1999. Near Oklahoma city, wind speeds were over 310mph

  • how in the hell is that little sign still thier 5:00

  • awesome great vid

  • This just goes to show you, we are not on this Earth forever. God has a plan for us all!

  • sawweeeet(:

  • Chapman Kansas too, was blown away.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition went in and helped.

Glad I don't live out that way any more. I feel so bad for Greensburg.

  • good video. Cool but sad.

  • you can almost see where my house use to be :D

  • i remember seeing news coverage on the tornado. Shocking how 95% of the town dissapeared in a matter of minutes. Many basements were useless.

I also saw the Greensburg memorial last May 4th. I can tell this was a horrible experience for everyone living there. This will most likely be one of those stories passed on generation after generation.

Givin my crazy interest in severe weather, I wouldn't even want to experience a home town being nearly wiped off the map. It's nuts

  • "2 months after"

    Never mind!

  • is much of Greesnburg still demolished? when was this video taken?

Wierd how there is still thunderstorms in the area.

  • I took a drive 3 weeks ago from olathe to greensburg. They are reubuilding it as a ALL GREEN Town. There is still damage around from that long ago.

  • it's been one whole year since our tornado touched down on our home and i'm still very jumpy when storms pass through my town.

nature can be so deadly at times..

  • I stop at that quick shop it was open when we went threw for a job I was doing. Pray it does not happen like that this year

  • I'm speechless. That is just so sad!

  • guess what the ef5 tornado hit on my parents bday and yes they have the same bday

  • It's unbelievable what one act of nature can do to a town. You just have to be thankful to be alive with your friends and family.

  • Everytime I see it I still cannot believe it.

Lets be real honest, I've been through hurricanes and the destruction is not similar to Greensburg where trees are stripped of their dignity and left outhere like broken skeletons. The fact any part of Greensburg survived was amazing. I don't think a hurricane can match what that tornado did in a few seconds. If it had been the daytime they would of seen it but it wasn't and this footage does not lie.

  • did one tornado destroy a whole town?

  • The Greensburg, Kansas tornado reached wind speeds of at least 205 MPH. 95% of the town was destroyed by the tornado. 11 people were killed, and many others injured.

  • wow this vid is really good

  • Chilling vid.

  • I remembered when I saw a news about this. It was shocking that EF5 tornado wiped Greensburg off from the map. I prays for people who lost everything there.

  • I still can't believe all of its gone. Such a beautiful town. I stll haven't been back to see Grandpa's new house but really really want to get back there. I haven't seen Greensburg post tornado. I think a lot of tears will be had the day I do.

  • yes really tho!

  • Incredible vid; five stars!! WOW!!

  • reminds me of fallout 3...

  • Wow...the power of mother nature......

  • the destruction reminds me of Moore 99. bet u guys could smell gas huh.

  • sweet 8th view

  • that would be the town that got hit by EF5 Tornado

Let all pray they never see a Tornado again

  • isnt it just called F-5? idk

  • It used to be called F-5
