If your getting someone an iPhone and they like drop things a lot or are a little clumsy. Get them this case because I have dropped my iPhone twice and broke the screen both times. Then we bought this case. I dropped my iPhone about 10 minutes after I put on the case and the screen didn't crack or scratch. BUY THIS CASE!

This case works with iPhone 4/4s, do not be tricked into buying a 4s version, it is not needed. If the proximity hole is causing problems like it did for me, you merely need to do the sharpie trick.

I have a real quick question. I have had my defender since Christmas, and the built-in screen protector is horrible. When I hold just the front part of the case up to the light, I see little tiny dots all over the screen and in result, they screw up the screen (will make white backgrounds look like rainbows in each pixel). These dots turn my phone into a million prisms. I was wondering if you had this same bothersome problem. This problem is however not static electricity with "oil-slicks."

Hi Larry, Is the Defender or Commuter series better? I work at a deskjob and will most likely put the iPhone4 in my jeans/jacket pocket. My home is really dusty and humid though.

if it means anything i have the vroom case, and i dont think il be getting another medium case... im debating between this and the incipto syllicrilic. I have never dropped my phone and if i ever did it wouldnt be more than a 3 foot drop and it would not happen frequently

I have this case for the 3G iPhone and watermarkes will show up and you will have to work at it to keep lint and watermarks off!! Also the holster sucks.....my iPhone fell out of the case twice withing 15 minutes of inserting and yes I did insert it correctly, those little notches are not enough to hold the heavy iPhone. I was walking around and bent over when the iPhone slipped out of the holster....don't depend on this holster...keep the phone in your pocket!!

@majorghn 3GS OWNERS: Otterbox FIXED the watermarking and FIXED the holster. My issue: proximity sensor. But besides that (if you keep it clean): incredible case. The best. If you spent $700 on a contract free 32GB iPhone 4, there's no excuse to buy anything else :)

Larry - Just picked one up today. You should have shown how the beltclip doubles as a stand of you want to watch video. Its really cool and a lot of thought went into it. I also dont have any watermarking.

I believe I have found THE case for the iphone 4. It does add bulk but it looks like it will do what its supposed to do extremely well.

I had one for my 3G. I had issues with it and they sent me 3 replacements. Top notch service. 1st time opening box the crystal was scratched up. They sent me a new hardshell. 2nd time the silicone ripped near the near the earpiece and mute, they sent me a new silicone cover. Unfortunately the silicone did not fit the hardshell as they changed the design. So they sent me a new case. The last version suffered from the "Echo" effect but if I open the dock port it stopped the echo.
