this is a great film, no doubt about it. watching this film was like watching those great gritty and raw films of the 1970's.i am a huge ray liotta fan and he was powerful in this.jason patric was outstanding. the opening of the film with him running like that was a great way to start.plus the setting and the mood of the film was miserable, dark and cold which gave the film it's charm.
I wanna believe that Liotta only got nominations from independent awards and Phoenix due to the fact that the movie as a whole wasnt concidered a masterpiece n that not enough people saw it,which are both stupid n the usual reasons. He will never get nominated for an oscar cause he will never be better then here. The definition of intense n he has such great dialog in this one. Oak indeed..He nGarcia were gonna be the new Pacino n DeNiros, what happened? He owned copland despite Sly not being bad.
Amazing movie, can't believe it was made in such a short time but damn, I've always said it, Ray Liota nailed the shit out of his role, you love, revile and relate to that character who could pierce your soul with a look, really intense movie.
@Fanofcartoons1994 the movie is about a guy who got fired 18 mouths ago for murder and he comes back and there is a case that is a drug dealing case and he finds a suspect and starts chaseing him and stuff
Ray Liotta and Andy Garcia facefucks al Pacino anyday.....their careers might not have gone the way they deserved but....have seen two good performances from Pacino in 20 years, the insider n merchant of venice. And those who say Liottas only good movie is goodfellas,well...they dont know movies.Unlawful entry,Cop Land(He owns that film)Identity...and this one.He got a few nominations and had it been a BIG movie, like training day...he wouldve been oscarnommed.Liotta,u the man.Intensity defined.
I liked it the first time I saw this movie, love it even more now. I bought it for five bucks yesterday, and I regret nothing. After watching it again, I couldn't believe the intensity and emotion from Liotta. Damn fine acting skills from the entire cast, and amazing camera movement. Love it!
@shibanqkut shut your ass up fake ass internet warrior, in a way they re similar but you too busy smokin that crack to realize it huh? Both are new partners, both are involved in fucked up shit, the only difference is the plot fool.
Ray liottas face and his eyes...would not let me forget his charachter in goodfellas (my all time fav)..a mean he was soo good in it...that movie did not belong to de niro...it belonged to ray liotta (IMO)...and that is saying something...
Let me advice ppl on something. This movie was made in 2 weeks...Did you hear me??? TWO FUCKING weeks, and still KICKS ASS...Give me a thumbs up you tube fans, if u agree with me!!! plain and Simple..
@markobyrne1 *Spoilers* Because if they found out that Mike wasn't Murdered and it was a suicide based on him being a junkie, then his wife and kids don't get his pension, which would set them for life, and Ray's character Oak, was trying to bury the case, going through the trouble, to make it possible.
a gritty classic film Jason is brilliant and Ray should of been nominated for a oscar in this performance as henry oak...it was underrated but this is a classic for people who love gritty and raw cop movies. i loved it and should of been nominated for its brilliant performances by the lead actors.
really? i always wanted to watch this went it initially came out but it was only in theaters for a limited time, i guess i forgot about it. what movies are in your top 5 if this is part of it?
Perhap the Real David Raymond Amos should suggest that everybody real the commets on my real channell to have a great laugh at the expense of the this evil little Trool commonly known as diddleing Dana durford the little Newfy pervert in pissy pampers
