Dude this is f*** awesome!!! I didn't even know there were 1984 recordings! Is this a very young Brian on vocals? My recordings doesn't go any further than Smile and Ibex...
but how the hell did you get this? Is this some kind of bootleg album or something? It's clearly a collectors item which the original must be worth a lot
I can remember a radio 1 interview with Brian May when he said that he hasn't improved technically since becoming famous but his taste has got better. I think hearing what he could do with a guitar all those years ago proves the point, though not convinced about the tast bit. I like the early Queen years best.
@FISHOFTHEDAY1471 Isn't the interview you're talking about in 1977? That's pretty close to when he became famous in the first place, relative to Queen's career and his personal career afterward. You can't apply those words to anything even remotely recent.
listen to the lead break at 1.21 brian is flying on his fretboard omg and if this is true that it was recorded on mar 31st 1967 brian didnt have a lot of time to memorize the licks on this song because this song had been out for a few months and not at all yet in america way to go dave its hard to believe you are in your early twenties with all your knowledge i thought i was keen on it all keep it up bro
Where do you find these things? This clarily shows Brian May allways have known what kind of people he wants in his band. This rocks. Have Queen ever covered Jimi Hendrix live? All of them loved him...
Thank you for posting this! this is really brilliant stuff. Oh and one question Is Tim Staffell singing?

the fact that brian was even close to jimi when jimi had only just done this is why brian is now one of the worlds greatest ever guitarists
larrylurex69 2 years ago 7
@larrylurex69 well, i've read that brian met jimi hendrix only once, where jimi asked him where the stage was at concert! no close relation!

i'm glad you uploaded this, dave. i've always wanted to hear what 1984 sounded like.
i think they did a great cover. sure jimi did it better, it was his song.
& yeah, brian's guitar was made from mostly household things,
but the way him & his dad made the pickup set up is what makes his guitar amazing pretty much.
