im so glad i got to meet fr stan fortuna when he went to my church just by being around him u can feel his passion for God ................ Fr Stan u are the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG Father Stan!!!!!!!! I haven't seen him since '94, He gave my family our first car in a time a much need and we didn't pay for anything, he is a true blessing. I can remember when he will come to my house with Christmas Gifts, back in the Bronx, NY. I will always have beautiful memories Father Stan and God Bless You. Familia Olivo.
Amazing song, the part where the gun person shot the kid was actually true. It is so sad, all these crimes, some people have taken so many lives, and for that, their own lives should be taken too. I am now asking this from mine, and al the other people out there's hearts, too stop murdering and commiting crimes. Then, maybe we wouldn't have to suffer that, because you are tearing this beautiful world apart. Please follow our saviour, Jesus Christ and obey him and love him.
The background moving around 4:25 with the Twin Towers in the back was like, whoa. It helped capture even more attention to the "suffering is a normal part of life" concept.
I've met Father Stan Fortuna TWICE. Came to my country 3 times held a Youth Rally. The crowds double in numbers each year he came. Not only that he sings good songs but he evangelize. Its a unique of his trying to reach out to the young generations about God. I think what he is doing is nothing wrong. Rap or hip hoping it doesnt matter. As long his intention is good and YES he is Spreading the Good news. Im sure Our Father dont mind what he is doing. Carry on Father Stan. God Bless You <3

@garciadelacadena not only supposed to be ....he is Catholic! and a Great example of the New Evangelisation...I would digg his music either way though.
@bearnurse1 No he's not, he's a member of the Conciliar Church, which was created after Vatican II. St. Francis would be ashamed of this person who promotes anti-Christian music like RAP.
@garciadelacadena shut up, idiot. Why would the blessed saint be insulted by rap music? Saint Francis gave up his life to the poor, he wasnt the snobbish noble youre painting him out to be. People like you give us Catholics a bad name.
@ivaflimkien Idiot?? and you call yourself and Fortuna Catholics???? give me a break, you couldn't care less about Catholics, the Catholic Chur or about Saint Francis.
@garciadelacadena how DARE you! I'll have you know I'm a lay member of the Jersuit Order, I'm Catholic educated, and i love the Church (and God) deeply and fully. In any case, my home parish is staffed by good Franciscan monks.
We have enemies enough in 'secular Catholics', atheists, Muslims and Protestants, let's not fight among ourselves too!
try to look less like a terrorist first of all and what you got sumtin against the successful the wealthy? maybe we don't all suffer speak fo urself FOOL!!
@pickles2495 first he is a franciscan priest and those are his robes, and second, it was an example that all people rich, poor, middle-class, white, black, brown, old, young, etc will suffer. There was no prejudicness against any one group. No one person suffers more then another.
@pickles2495 Why do you care what he looks like? And who said all terrorist look like him? I don't need to defend Fr Stan because I know he doesn't care for people insults. All I wanted to say is that you don't need to get offended and insult people. Instead try to understand why he let his bear grow and why he dresses like that. And listen to his message with out negativity. Peace.
Well it's obvious the song is aimed at teens, i am a teenager and I am also a Christian, I know people around my age are gonna think that it is so stereotypical. I does have a message but teenagers arnt gonna listen to it if there laughing at it
Lol funniest thing ever, kids arnt gonna respect Christianity there just gonna laugh at it cos it's so stereotipicle you know priest trying to get down with the kids!
@cupcakes3375 There is nothing funny about a song that reminds us about the reality of suffering in the world, even if it is rap. The whole point of this is that Christianity does gain the respect of Kids because it does not shy away from this reality or try explain it away like some other philosophies...the reality is that God has even shared in our suffering and thereby given it real meaning.
@BorisG7 she never said there was something funny about suffring thats sick or that christianity doesnt gain the respect of kids. the would respect christianity being christianty they wouldnt respect it trying to be a rap video!
@MyLeny123 I agree and that was never my intention but not sure what you mean by christianity being christianity...my understanding of christianity is that we are not asked to change who we are but only what we do and Fr Stan is spreading the truth about what we should be doing in his own way which is who he is as a preist, so it is not some fake attempt at trying to get down with the kids...this is really just Great music with a message from the Heart.
@cupcakes3375 Father Stan, is not just talking the talk..he is walking the walk! When you take a vow of poverty and service, then you can think how hard it is to hate.
I just caught this for the first time tonight, on Father Stan's channel. I can not praise this video highly enough. I wish we had more priests out there like Father Stan, but hey, the Church is what it is. This video is AWESOME and to the top of my favorites!
@mrPr0jects You're right. The rich do not suffer as the poor do. Only someone from the projects could have shown us that this is vain, self-righteous, and prideful thinking. I am humbled by your words.
@mrPr0jects you obviously dont understand this song. He's saying that everyone - rich, poor, black, white, catholic, jewish, whatever or whoever you are: we all suffer somehow.
The point isn't to say that he knows how people feel. He couldn't possibly know that. The point is to say that no matter who you are, or what your living situation is, no one escapes from pain and suffering, and we just have to do the best we can to not let it force us into sin.
@mrPr0jects Ppl if u dnt hv sumtin good 2 say plz dnt comment k........Fr. Stan is a Catholic Priest dt sings frm the heart and no he doesnt hv nything against ny1 in my opinion he is saying that everyone is equal because we are all humans and as a result we would all have to suffer just like Jesus suffered on the cross for our sins so like seriously stop sippn on dt haterade and really look at the true meaning of the song
Fr. Stan...everything u say...iz WORD...WORD...WORD......i never thoght dat a father like u would b rappin around the world...so imma tell it like diss...u inspire me an best wishes
we all have to suffer, we cant go for the easy luke warm life everyone else lives, cuz then we lose our soul, like in the 1927 movie metropolis, when we all become dehumanized, we become robots. we all have to suffer to enjoy life, like in church theres a song that says " hay que morir , para vivir.." we have to die, to truly live.god bless fr. stan fortuna , i wish i can inspire people like the way he does.
i saw him live few days ago in steubenville san diego, man hes got the grooves on the bass and hes such a charismatic priest..we are all blessed to have him
Fr. Stan God bless you, I hope all is well ... I still have this video on dvd and all our cds. I hope your still passing the word to the young kids, we need more people like you in this world
@MrsBoochito You wished that there were more people like Fr Stan. Why can't you and I do things like Fr Stan? I'm not talking about making music, but there are other way to reach out to people and show them God's love.

I'm not a Catholic but I love Fr Stan Fortuna. If I ever get to meet him I will give him a big hug for speaking in PLAIN ENGLISH. Every song he does can be clearly understood by those who have ears to hear.
Its not on mainstream because the majority of the people do not even consider that song to be socially acceptable. Not to diss christianity or catholic, but reality is reality

Its not on mainstream because the majority of the people do not even consider that song to be socially acceptable. Not to diss christianity or catholic, but reality is reality

Maybe the reality is that it makes people uncomfortable since it is human nature to want to escape suffering.

Ironic that rap that promotes thugs and drugs sell so well isn't it? This was done so well. Suffering affects us all.
