God damn I missed doing stuff like this. I could do the ten circles (not 11) on shutdown back in the day. A couple of the concing and the palermo one I could of pulled off. Still I preferred to snipe but this game had no match in it ever.

Yes, there is a game similar to the one shown in the movie. I believe it is called Team Fortress Classic, the greatest game of all time with no game comparable to it.

Well, there's a Source modification called Fortress Forever, which reminds of TFC. It's a wee bit faster and easier. It's great fun, but TFC is still better. I doubt that there'll ever be another game quite like it, so just keep playing TFC!^^

I know very well what FF is. I've played it back then, and I've played it recently. It still doesn't come close to the greatness of TFC. It's just way too easy to play. A HUGE part of the reason TFC is so great, is because it's so difficult. If you dummy it down and make it more noob-friendly, then it loses that quality and becomes boring.

It's eons better than anything else being released these days, but it's not much compared to TFC.

I agree. FF is a very good game or mod, but it doesn't reach that level of TFC's greatness. Not in any way. The same goes for QWTF, TFC is better in every aspect of gameplay. There is no substitute to TFC, simple as that. And that's coming from someone who's merely decent at TFC.

Even though thise jumps are really cool and highly skilled, this is the reason why I started to dislike TFC.

If you cannot do these jumps, you get owned from all sides.

Don't get me wrong, I do want the TFC feeling back, just not with those insane jumps.

The reason we made this avi is because no one else CAN do them :P

A decent bhop is necessary, you don't want the D to be faster than you, but to be good at TFC, all you really need is smarts. Trick jumps don't help the average player unless they apply it.

I understand that this gives a totally different gameplay. It's just not a gameplay I like. I like the old TFC were this was not common, and where bunnyhopping was still bannable by the admins.

What I do want back are the objective based maps, like the detpacks, the gas-release map, etc...

TF2 does not have the "cool factor" of TFC, but luckily also not these jumps :-P

If you have the brains to get around your lack of movement, you can be a very successful defensive player.

Well, if you can't bhop you can always snipe. Sadly a pretty big percentage of the remaining TFC players play only - or only - sniper, It's mostly because they never learned to bhop. Besides, bhop isn't hard to learn. It takes a little while to get used to the technique but with a little practice you'll get there. TFC forever!

I feel that most of the snipers playing in pubs are transferring from other games where all you do is snipe slower targets than the ones in TFC.

You could very well be right, but sniper is still the easiest class to learn and they're generally a pain in the neck for everyone else. As you probably have guessed by now, I don't fancy snipers one bit. Teamplaying snipers on AvD maps are okay though, I guess...

Sniper is generally easier to learn. Point and shoot, that's about it. A half-decent soldier that pops onto the sniper balcony can waste them all though.

yeah what kapr1sun said is right. the top tfc offy players arent able to pull of such tricks as these, however they have far better game-sense, and far more skilled fundamentally. i mean watching afx, bobo etc play, they were just darn right fast with accurate concing, and seemed to know where to go what to do etc, thats what tfc is, its an intelligence game, tactical warfare etc, but doing this stuff in a match would be amazingly pointless

Tricks #1-5, #7, #11-20, #22-24 I could see being useful. Practical? Maybe not so much, only if you were consistent at them.

The euro mindset is usually medics and soldiers, all shotgun. I guess it works out if you all play like that, but very early in the game us yanks started to just get quick and pass all of the front lines. Our main targets being whatever is stopping the scout in the flag room.
