i got a cheaper one then this one cuz i wanted to learn how to fly one, big mistake at first the battery produces too much power and when you get used to that it dies down and barely lifts the fucking thing, i want better bateries for extended flights man 15 min of practicing and 45 mins of chargin is way to fucked to get used to anything. i didnt learn how to drive in 15 mins :P
@lolzoretwo It can be very frustrating learn to fly. You just have to keep trying. Do it in stages. The first flight get it to hover, then the next flight you can moving forward, and so on. You can't expect for you to take it out of the box and get right away.Hell, even experience fliers like taoist have to get a few flights in on a new heli to see how it handles.
Great flying, dude. Co-ax helis are really stable; I've got a Big Lama but I want the Coco Lama 'coz it's nicer to fly in close quarters. How d'you set up your cam? 5 *s!!!
Hey Dude, I had one of the first blade cx2s, then the lastest micro blade, and I got a heli-max cv3 I can tell you still takes practise to do that, and the hement cam worked really well, good angles, really cool.
the helmet cam really helped, but I still had to do this 3 times before I got good stable shot, the first 2 times the heli either went out of frame or the camera was shaking to much.
A good suggestion if your using a helmet cam, if your camera has a light on it turn it on because it makes a great pointer so you can know what the camera is filming.
wow anybody could do that with a coaxial heli. they are VERY stable and will hover on their own. get a real rc chopper and try it. that might be worth watching since i'm not watching i'm typing. lol
Awesome flying! I've got (nearly) the same helicopter, and I'm pretty sure I'd break into a cold sweat attempting what you're doing, especially when the heli is far away. If I were in your situation, I couldn't resist flying through those racks either. I'd probably try to keep it easy though. Very cool video!
it's hard to fly and film, especially when i can't tell if the helicopter is in frame or not, strangely enough it came out better then when I had someone film it for me.
I love your flying. You're a terrific pilot. But sometimes I was just looking at cans of paint. No Helicopter. Maybe you could put the camera on a shelf and fly the helicopter through a section of shelves? Then move the camera to another shelf or sturdy surface and fly the helicopter through more obstacles?
that was some freakin amazing flying!! tell me how do you keep your tail from wanting to go in circles? i am just learning and the instructions that came with my falcon 40 suck. thanks!
Me and a lot of my friends are big CKY fans, one of them gave me this song a few years ago, I have no idea wear got it, but it's my favorite version, and it's great to fly to.
It does have a small electronic gyro, and it's coaxial design makes it very stable, it can even hover hands free for a few seconds. It's a good helicopter for experts and beginners.
haha i have finally found that rc with a gyro just like yours and im going to buy it next month. it costs around P5999 or $130 here in the philippines.
Hi I got a v4 yesterday, i have a slight problem if any one can help, the heli turns anti clockwise, so i moved the trim fully right, it helped but didnt solve, so I tried addjusting the 4 in 1, that also helped, but I still have the anti clock turn! how do I stop it. I can still fly and hover, I just have to constantly hold the stick right. ANY help?
I had the exact same problem, the best way to fix it is to make sure your blades are tracked very well, if they are slightly out of track it causes drag on that rotor set which causes the spin, it's probably the top set that is out of track, you can change the length of the bar connected to the stabilizer to change the tracking, as well as tightening or loosening the blade grip screws, tunning makes ALL the difference in the world, a bent center shaft or misaligned motor can also cause a spin.
Thats good for a minuit I thought id got a dud!! Just another little question, on the 4 in 1 there are two adjustment points " gain" and "proportional" from the manual it would seem that I should be adjusting "proportional" to get rid of the spin, is that right? The translation is pritty poor. Also my respect for this vid has gone up 20 fold sinc ive had my v4, true ive only had it 24 hours but I can now see the skill needed to perform that flight!!
You can adjust the spin with the proportional flat head screw on the circuit board but you should never try to fix the spin that way, I spent a year moving that screw around every time I had a bad spin, it took me a year to realize the bad spin was coming from 2 things, my blades weren't perfectly tracked, and I had a slight bend in my center shaft. Now that I finally have a straight shaft, and perfectly tracked blades, it doesn't need any trim at all it hovers perfectly hands free.
Tunning your helicopter makes ALL the difference in the world, do every thing you can to get your blades perfectly tracked and you will be amazed. Make sure the swash plate is level and unobstructed, make sure the 2 motors turn with the same amount of resistance.
also I upgraded my battery to a
Mega Power - 2-Cell 7.4v 850mAH 15C (LiPo) Battery Pack I'm getting 10 plus minutes of flight now and no voltage drops.
I think maybe I have a bend somewere, there is quite a lot of tail vibration during flight. Do you recomend the metal swash plate and parts upgrade? Ive orderd it already. It dosnt help living in the uk, the model shops are a total rip off so Ebay is the only option.
the center shaft is pretty easy to remove if you think their is a bend in it. I think you just loosen the screw on the round thing that is at the bottom of the shaft, then you should be able to get the lower gear off and pull out the shaft,it may take a little work but it's a good idea to do just to see how the heli goes together. roll the shaft on a flat surface to see if their is a bend, it takes a good wreck to bend it so it may be something else.
the song is called disengage the simulator, it is the instrumental version. CKY has some great albums out their that you should check out if you enjoyed this song. their music is also used in viva la bam, jack ass, and cky 2K
nice flying! where did you get that thing? i have the mosquito, its a bit smaller, and probobly less handeling. its more of a starter RC though, do you have any recomendations for an expert RC?
they are on the version 3 now, it's around 70 dollars ready to fly, and it is the perfect way to learn how to fly a helicopter, if you don't have one yet I highly recommend getting one as your next heli, either the esky lama version 3 or version 4. It's worth every penny, you'll never want to fly your mosquito again once you fly one of these.
I got this one from heli direct, but their are a bunch of good deals out their online.
The esky lama version 3 is around 69 dollars, it comes with every thing you need to start flying out of the box, it's worth every penny, it's the least expensive highest quality fully functional 4 channel rc helicopter on the market, It's a perfect starter helicopter and it's fun for experts as well.
I'm actually flying an old painted up esky version 2 in the video, the version 3 and 4 are better helicopters at the same price.
I have a friend across the pond who got himself a lama v4 and he loves it. you can change the canopy on it if you don't like the look. their are a bunch of sites that sell after market canopies for it. Eflight and Esky are the best companies to by coaxial helicopters from from. Whatever you get make sure replacement parts are easy to locate.
This was actually the old version 2, they don't sell it anymore, it was originally white with green stickers, which I didn't much care for, so I used some black paint and a gold paint pen and presto chango, my heli was pimped.
the version 3 and 4 are almost identical other then price and the look of the canopy.
And considering the v3 is around $70 it's a great deal. My v2 is still flying after more then a year, it still flies great. I'm glad I got it.
Theirs a small piece of video of it in my sticky collective pitch video. Considering that it's twice the size, their was no gyro on it, the collective and cyclic were messed up, and it had a motor driven tail I was amazed it could do it at all. Give me a pixy zap, and I will do it inverted.
check out raidentech dot com they have miniature wireless cameras for like 30 bucks. ima get 1 for my RC heli. you can hook the receiver up to like a TV monitor and see the cockpit view :P
blade tracking is the key, if one of the sets of blades is out of track it causes a spin. Put a pice of tape on one of the blades and look at it from the side while the blades are spinning, look to see if one of the blades is higher then the other, you can adjust it's hight (tracking) by adjusting the screws on the blade grips or by shortening or lengthening the bar that holds the fly bar to the top rotor set.
dont freak out when ur heli twitches. just keep it the same speed until it stops. it shouldnt crash cause of interference. if its really bad interference, then i dont know what to do.
Hey, always amazing to see you fly! What can you recommend as a stable, inexpensive copter that can be flown outdoors on calm days? The Lama looks pretty good, but I mostly see it indoors.
The lama can go outdoors on calm days, but like you said you mostly see it indoors, almost all coaxial helicopters have a speed limitation of about 10mph which means it can't fly in winds higher then 9mph. Their is one called the horse fly which will go maybe 15mph but i have heard that it is really fragile.
I did this 3 times, but not because of crashes, the first time the camera was shaking on my hat so bad you couldn't see what was happening, the second time the camera zoomed in a few seconds after i started recording and missed the whole flight (I was pissed). than i finally manged to get this one.
The truth is this helicopter is made in shinzen (toy city), shinzen is notorious for rip offs and low wages, thats why it's so cheep, the cx2 is a little more main stream, and it is usually supported by most local hobby shops, if i want support for this one i have to go online.
i have a nikko heli called sky ace ....but it can only fly right and left up and down-.- it cost 80$ u must put a whhel on the helicopter right or left that it flys right away but i cant put my fingers on the helicopter wehn it flys ... i really hate nikko
I'm sorry you got stuck with such a bad helicopter, they charged you way to much, their are way to many helicopters like that out their, I hope you can get a better one in the future like the esky lama version 3
i got a helicopter like that but now it flies well thanks to a few paperclips taped onto the front of it, this should work on yours unless you have auto stabilisers
They are around $75 or $80, this one is called the E-sky lama version 2, their is an e-sky lama version 3 on the market now for the same price and it's a really nice heli, and it's easy to fly
As for making it look easy, It's a little from column a and a little from column b.
It can fly outside in slow winds, as long as the wind isn't faster then the helicopters forward flight speed you can fly outside. this thing will maybe go 10 mph so you can fly in an 8 or 9 mph wind.
It is 10 times more stable then the honey bee fp, and a lot easier to fly, but it's not as fast and powerful. Keep flying that honey bee and you will be nose in in just a few weeks.
cool video, good idea using a helmet cam. i've been thinking of getting an rc copter the last few months. thanks for the advice! if you ever want to try spud guns, give me a buzz, i've made a couple of awesome ones.
Yous should get you one, i saw your spud gun, pretty nice, you should try to shoot an rc helicopter with it some day, that be a nice video if you could get it close up or in high speed.
if i win the lotto and can afford to waste a RC copter, i'd do it! it would be very interesting, for sure! i only need 1-2 seconds to zero in on a target with my spudder, so if i could get someone to hover it, SPUDDD!!!!
In the rc helicopter world their are hundreds of old helicopters gathering dust, i have 1 or 2 that are money pits, I've thought about bringing them to the shooting range on occasion. i may spud gun them some day.
i need to find a camera capable of a high frame rate, my kodak does 30fps, i slow it down 1/16th with video editing software, i'd need to double or quadruple the frame rate to make a good rc chopper video, maybe i can whack one of them little 6 inchers
22175, check out my video called lama swash plate issues quick fix, somtimes the rear motor is to close to the swash plate, when the swash plate moves it will push on the motor causing the motor and gear to rub together slowing the rear motor down, This will cause spinning and is really bad for the battery. It's a big deal but it's easy to fix. Check out the video, if it doesn't help send me a private message and we'll go from their.
darkprecurser, don't get that 9083, it is a waste of money, it is only 2 channels which means you can only control up, down and spin, it will be almost uncontrollable. I would say save up the $69 and get a 4 channel esky lama. If you can only spend $20 or $30 then get a syma or micro gear fairy
kreigshundun2, nitroplanes dot com has the esky lama version 3 for sale for $69. it's the least expensive 4 channel heli on the market, It is what I started with. Anything with less then 4 channels would be a let down for you, get your mom to pay for as much as she can, and save up the rest yourself, the main reason is this helicopter will last you a long time, the less expensive ones on the market will break in less then a month. if your mom needs convincing I'll gladly talk to her:)
hey i know you have already anwsered this question to another person but i really wanna get one of these planes. what one do you recomend for me? i just want a simple long lasting one that i dont have to worry to much about. Baiscly a biggerner one
Hey sstdog, It depends on how much you can spend, the E-sky lama version 3 is about $69. when it comes to long lasting easy to fly rc helicopters this is the least expensive and best one on the market. No matter what you get you will have to buy replacement parts eventually, so make sure you can locate things like blades and batteries for it. I'd say save up and buy an E-sky lama version 3, and go slow when learning to fly it.
rc-fever dot com has a lot of them in stock, I have never purchased from them but they seam to have a lot of upgrades. I hope to see some cool video of you flying.
worst camera i've ever seen bur nice video

It's a 4 channel version.
it is made by esky
it is called the lama version 2
it usually sells for around 70 bucks, it's a good deal and the best way to learn.
It sounds strange but it is better to start with a 4 channel before buying a 3 channel.

Top flight mate!! I want to buy a lama! The v4 looks lame, ive seen a v5 but its not made by esky, do you know if its any good? Thanks mate.
fordyboy84 4 years ago
I have a friend across the pond who got himself a lama v4 and he loves it. you can change the canopy on it if you don't like the look. their are a bunch of sites that sell after market canopies for it. Eflight and Esky are the best companies to by coaxial helicopters from from. Whatever you get make sure replacement parts are easy to locate.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
Are you flying a V3 in this vid? did you paint it up yourself?
fordyboy84 4 years ago
This was actually the old version 2, they don't sell it anymore, it was originally white with green stickers, which I didn't much care for, so I used some black paint and a gold paint pen and presto chango, my heli was pimped.
the version 3 and 4 are almost identical other then price and the look of the canopy.
And considering the v3 is around $70 it's a great deal. My v2 is still flying after more then a year, it still flies great. I'm glad I got it.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
cool, i think i will get a v4 then do a new paint job. Im gona post a heli vid in a few days, giv it a watch! thanks for your help.
fordyboy84 4 years ago
I'd like to see it. feel free to make it a video response to any of my videos.

Yeah i agree ive got the Blade CX2 its great
boomerhgt 3 years ago
very nice now do it with a non coaxial
nolsmtm 4 years ago
I've dun it with a non coaxial honey bee cp2,
Theirs a small piece of video of it in my sticky collective pitch video. Considering that it's twice the size, their was no gyro on it, the collective and cyclic were messed up, and it had a motor driven tail I was amazed it could do it at all. Give me a pixy zap, and I will do it inverted.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
I hope to, if I can ever get a cam for it.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
check out raidentech dot com they have miniature wireless cameras for like 30 bucks. ima get 1 for my RC heli. you can hook the receiver up to like a TV monitor and see the cockpit view :P
SnyperJESUS 4 years ago
my v4 won't lift off of the ground anymore,i think it may be the battery.what do you think
hermymunster 4 years ago
Sounds like a bad battery, lithium ion batteries are really sensitive to heat, and they are easy to damege while charging.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
thanks as always you are a great help with these

i have that helicopter its really hard 2 control, on takeoff it spins! how can i stop it from happening?
ajm141993 4 years ago 3
blade tracking is the key, if one of the sets of blades is out of track it causes a spin.

I have a helicopter that sometimes picks up interference from other electronics, what can i do to stop it
monkeyboy308 4 years ago
dont freak out when ur heli twitches. just keep it the same speed until it stops. it shouldnt crash cause of interference. if its really bad interference, then i dont know what to do.
hope this helped.

Hey, always amazing to see you fly! What can you recommend as a stable, inexpensive copter that can be flown outdoors on calm days? The Lama looks pretty good, but I mostly see it indoors.
BombayWizard 4 years ago
The lama can go outdoors on calm days, but like you said you mostly see it indoors, almost all coaxial helicopters have a speed limitation of about 10mph which means it can't fly in winds higher then 9mph. Their is one called the horse fly which will go maybe 15mph but i have heard that it is really fragile.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
how long did u take to get this fly? TELL US
shamhobby 4 years ago
I did this 3 times, but not because of crashes, the first time the camera was shaking on my hat so bad you couldn't see what was happening, the second time the camera zoomed in a few seconds after i started recording and missed the whole flight (I was pissed). than i finally manged to get this one.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
bombaywizard, you could get a e-flite Blade
CX2, really easy to learn on and can do fast FF and good heli. Check out some vids on it.

great vid i have a picoo z and a havoc laser battle
pancackpete11 4 years ago
i just got the micro gear laser battle set, they are a lot of fun, it 's just hard to get someone to fly against.

I am new to this - but need to understand why I paid 189 for an e flight cx2 when this helo in this video seems to be the same (or maybe even better)
thanks
jnichb 4 years ago
The truth is this helicopter is made in shinzen (toy city), shinzen is notorious for rip offs and low wages, thats why it's so cheep, the cx2 is a little more main stream, and it is usually supported by most local hobby shops, if i want support for this one i have to go online.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
thanks - makes sense - I am enjoying my cx2 enough with 11 flights so far
jnichb 4 years ago
i have a nikko heli called sky ace ....but it can only fly right and left up and down-.- it cost 80$ u must put a whhel on the helicopter right or left that it flys right away but i cant put my fingers on the helicopter wehn it flys ... i really hate nikko
ILLUMI1234 4 years ago
I'm sorry you got stuck with such a bad helicopter, they charged you way to much, their are way to many helicopters like that out their, I hope you can get a better one in the future like the esky lama version 3
taoistflyer 4 years ago
thanks... wehn it s broken i buy a better one.. but where this is possible?
ILLUMI1234 4 years ago
i got a helicopter like that but now it flies well thanks to a few paperclips taped onto the front of it, this should work on yours unless you have auto stabilisers
sillydude123 4 years ago
you're super good.
Gunfulker27 4 years ago 2
you must work there huh
dopevillan 4 years ago
yes I do, it's a great company.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
..awesom... it takes about 4 hours per day - 3 month - 10 rotors - half a copter - to do this and 2 megabit sensoric helps .- great !!
Bildbank 4 years ago
I think I may have gone through a few more then 10 rotors :)
taoistflyer 4 years ago
How much does one of those cost? thinking of getting one btw your a good flyer makes it look so easy! or is it the helecopter? lol, kool vid
mattyouk 4 years ago
They are around $75 or $80, this one is called the E-sky lama version 2, their is an e-sky lama version 3 on the market now for the same price and it's a really nice heli, and it's easy to fly
As for making it look easy, It's a little from column a and a little from column b.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
cool
tancology 4 years ago
can you fly those outside or indoors only
hermymunster 4 years ago
It can fly outside in slow winds, as long as the wind isn't faster then the helicopters forward flight speed you can fly outside. this thing will maybe go 10 mph so you can fly in an 8 or 9 mph wind.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
thanks,i'm getting one

how much weight do u think the lama could hold (i wanna get a micro-cam
mckenzu 4 years ago
I have seen people put micro cameras on lamas before, i don't know what the weight capacity is but it can carry a micro camera and transmitter.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
Wow... best helicopter vid I've seen in a while. That thing is way more stable than my CX2...

taoistflyer 4 years ago
is the e-sky coco lamam a stable flyer?
I started flying helis with a E-Sky Honey Bee fp
still on it and i can do tail in hovers...haven't had it for a week yet...i wanna try to fly nose in hovers!
nice video!
canadaboy1993 4 years ago
It is 10 times more stable then the honey bee fp, and a lot easier to fly, but it's not as fast and powerful. Keep flying that honey bee and you will be nose in in just a few weeks.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
cool video, good idea using a helmet cam. i've been thinking of getting an rc copter the last few months. thanks for the advice! if you ever want to try spud guns, give me a buzz, i've made a couple of awesome ones.
mrbadx19 4 years ago
Yous should get you one, i saw your spud gun, pretty nice, you should try to shoot an rc helicopter with it some day, that be a nice video if you could get it close up or in high speed.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
if i win the lotto and can afford to waste a RC copter, i'd do it! it would be very interesting, for sure! i only need 1-2 seconds to zero in on a target with my spudder, so if i could get someone to hover it, SPUDDD!!!!
mrbadx19 4 years ago
In the rc helicopter world their are hundreds of old helicopters gathering dust, i have 1 or 2 that are money pits, I've thought about bringing them to the shooting range on occasion. i may spud gun them some day.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
i need to find a camera capable of a high frame rate, my kodak does 30fps, i slow it down 1/16th with video editing software, i'd need to double or quadruple the frame rate to make a good rc chopper video, maybe i can whack one of them little 6 inchers
mrbadx19 4 years ago
i got mine fixed up and everything now but i still cant stop it from tail drafting wat do u have urs set about taoistflyer
22175 4 years ago
22175, check out my video called lama swash plate issues quick fix, somtimes the rear motor is to close to the swash plate, when the swash plate moves it will push on the motor causing the motor and gear to rub together slowing the rear motor down, This will cause spinning and is really bad for the battery. It's a big deal but it's easy to fix. Check out the video, if it doesn't help send me a private message and we'll go from their.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
haha thanks now i know what happened to my dragonfly...have you heard of the 9083...and do think it might be a good one?...thanks
darkprecurser 4 years ago
darkprecurser, don't get that 9083, it is a waste of money, it is only 2 channels which means you can only control up, down and spin, it will be almost uncontrollable. I would say save up the $69 and get a 4 channel esky lama. If you can only spend $20 or $30 then get a syma or micro gear fairy
taoistflyer 4 years ago
sweet thanks man just saved me money=)...have a good one!
darkprecurser 4 years ago
My mom says she'll get me a heli but i have little exp. and it needs to be less than $100 what would you recommend?
Kreigshundun2 4 years ago
kreigshundun2, nitroplanes dot com has the esky lama version 3 for sale for $69. it's the least expensive 4 channel heli on the market, It is what I started with. Anything with less then 4 channels would be a let down for you, get your mom to pay for as much as she can, and save up the rest yourself, the main reason is this helicopter will last you a long time, the less expensive ones on the market will break in less then a month. if your mom needs convincing I'll gladly talk to her:)
taoistflyer 4 years ago
hey i know you have already anwsered this question to another person but i really wanna get one of these planes. what one do you recomend for me? i just want a simple long lasting one that i dont have to worry to much about. Baiscly a biggerner one
sstdog 4 years ago
Hey sstdog, It depends on how much you can spend, the E-sky lama version 3 is about $69. when it comes to long lasting easy to fly rc helicopters this is the least expensive and best one on the market. No matter what you get you will have to buy replacement parts eventually, so make sure you can locate things like blades and batteries for it. I'd say save up and buy an E-sky lama version 3, and go slow when learning to fly it.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
ok great thx. DO you know the website were i can get the upgrade parts...i know theres the extreme set were u can get bendy tail and stuff
sstdog 4 years ago
rc-fever dot com has a lot of them in stock, I have never purchased from them but they seam to have a lot of upgrades. I hope to see some cool video of you flying.
taoistflyer 4 years ago
ok thankyou. Is tehre anyplace in australia you would no of?
sstdog 4 years ago
also what do you thin about a lama number 4?
sstdog 4 years ago
The number 4 is a good one. unfortunately your shipping options are limited down under,
You can try dealextram dot com or rchelicoptershop dot com,
or E-bay,
Do a search for esky lama world wide shipping, you should see the links to these sites.
