  • 2:09 EEEEEDIOT!!!

  • This really is an "EGG"celent video! I'm glad it wasn't "scrambled" so I can watch it. Thanks for "poaching" it on here. I didn't find it very "hard boiled" either. It really was a tough "break" for Humpty Dumpty. Looks like they all "shelled" him out. :)

  • Frank Oz and Jim Henson. One of the best teams ever. We miss you Jim.

  • LOL!!

  • what year is this from?

  • what year is this from? I do know this is pre-Elmo's World.

  • @gypsyball I believe it's from 1974.

  • Humpy Dumpty's face always looked a little freaky to me as a kid.

  • "Hi, frog!"

    Aren't we all!

  • Kermit the Frog on Sesame Street is 10x... no,100X better than being with The Muppets.

  • Kermit, Kermit, Kermit. Don't you know you gotta be careful with eggs?

  • They could make an omelet out of Humpty Dumpty.

  • The worst part is that as soon as Humpty Dumpty is fixed, Kermit accidentally knocks him off the wall and breaks him--to the point where "all the kings horses and all the king's men" REALLY can't put poor Humpty Dumpty together again!

  • 1:11 - 1:21 you can tell the gray horse & tan horse are attached to each other. lol.

As I can recall, Humpty fill me with some unease as a kid. It's those teeth, I tell ya.

  • Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall, Humpty Dumpty got knocked off the wall by a frog. All the king's horses and all the king's men tried to get the frog out of there.

  • hahah classic

  • The King's Men obviously didn't care that Kermit knocked Humpty Dumpty down by accident. I believe Kermit when he said he didn't mean it.

I wish they gave Kermit a chance to explain he didn't mean it.

  • This thing is disturbing on so many levels it's not even funny. From the sirens and panicky atmosphere of muppets running around aimlessly right down to humptys' creepy face and voice...but now that i see it as an adult I think the thing that filled me the most with dread while watching this as a child was the fact that humpty dumpty is HOLLOW...once they put him back together again, exactly what is it that's supposed to be animating him?... :-(

  • I take it it's Frank Oz who was yelling "Someone get the frog outta here!!!" Was that one of the king's horses or one of the king's men?

  • where is the one when kermit falls and goes "ooch" instead of "OUCH"

  • @MichaelHansenFUN That was the Pinocchio one

  • it was the frog that did it... get.. get the frog outta here!! lol

  • lmfao...humpty's a pretty tough egg,, not what you'd call hard boil or anything,,lol

  • That is one creepy Humpty Dumpty. I am glad Kermit dropped him.

  • Here's a fun fact, no where in the Humpty Dumpty story does it say that he is an egg.

  • Humpty Liberace.

  • Love Kermit's face after the "hard boiled" comment.

  • 2:07......classic lmao!!!!

  • @juneboogie140

You know if you pause it right when Kermit smacks him in that scene, you can see the puppeteers hand.

  • I literraly freikin CRIED!!

  • Does anyone know the year this segment first aired?

  • @DevilFish69 Its on a VHS I have with 1989 but I dont know if thats the video date or TV date

  • @tasteslikepaintnwood I believe it first aired around 1974-1975.

  • This is one of the funniest segments they ever produced for the show!

  • I remember an episode where Humpty Dumpty was on Sesame Street, looking for new places to sit, each one with disasterous results, much to the dismay of Maria and Luis who were putting their other work on hold to fix him over and over again. Each scene he wore increasing number of bandages holding him together, by the end, you could barely see his face. At the end of the episode, Maria and Luis gave him a chair to sit in safely, but even that ended in disaster.

  • 0:32 the funniest thing, cow neighs LMAO

  • WTF is up with the way Humpty Dumpty looks and talks? So weird. I remember this when I was a kid. I wasn't scared of it but he does look creepy.

  • I love the cows and the horses. :)

  • I am happy Kermit knocked Humpty Dumpty over the ledge, he deserved it for scaring little kids

  • Comment removed

  • always loved the kings cow in this

  • Wow...creepy puppet...

  • sorry guys but sometimes these news flash stories can be off the wall

  • Calling Kermit "frog" like that...wouldn't you think that was a little racist??

  • Hahahahahaha. I'm pretty glad I'm not the only one who was scared of this Humpty Dumpty.

I don't even know why... But it was horrifying as a kid.

  • Humpty Dumpty sounded a bit like Harvey Kneeslapper.

  • @muppetfan33 That's Frank Oz for ya'

  • Now that im older I love how they wrote this sketch, starting with a siren as if a huge emergency has happened and people and horses running around panicing. I love it

  • I'd run into the basement whenever it came on, and cover myself with a blanket. This thing terrified me more than anything I can remember out of my childhood.

    Bloody hell, he's still creepy.

  • Where the hell are his EYES??!!? Creepy.

  • I am so glad I found this video! I remember being teased by my parents for being afraid of Humpty Dumpty and feeling like there was something wrong with ME! The face of HD IS scary looking (esp. for a 3 or 4 year old) and seeing him broken in pieces makes it frightening. I'm glad I wasn't alone! I remember I wouldn't look at any image of HD after seeing this - incl. in children's books. I had a HD phobia!

  • Oh dear lord, what kind of fucking Muppet is Humpty Dumpty supposed to be?? Looks like a magnified oyster vagina.

  • That's a camp Humpty!

  • I used to cry when this came on tv. Maybe it was the severity of the sirens or something.

  • Yeah nightmare Dumpty got killed by the frog!

  • its cowist

  • Yeah I used to hide in the closet when this came on, and I'd crack open the door and shout to my mom, "Is it over yet??"

  • i was TERRIFIED of this as a child! any Humpty Dumpty i saw after that scared me so much

  • loooooooooooooooool olol he knocked him down !! priceless* get the frog outta here lmao

  • Damn this scared the hell out of me when I was little! The sirens, the face. Now it's like, "I can't believe I was scared of this shit" LOL

  • this is not scary haha!!

  • GOD THIS IS NOT SCARY!!! LOL

  • THIS IS NOT SCARY!!! LOL

  • Another memorable yet disturbing sesame street skit!

  • Humpty Dumpty is scary looking!!!!!!!!!!

  • Humpty Dumpty has a weird face.

  • Kermit needs to replace the Factor

  • This one terrified me as a kid. It's so amazing to see that so many people had the same reaction. It was just eerie and disturbing and frightening.

  • He's scary.

  • Awww poor Kermit!!

  • Humpty Dumpty Talks to a frog Kermit the frog push him all the kings horses and all the kings man could't put Humpty back together again.

  • "Humpty Dumpty that egg we all know and love fell a wall today. Our reporter Kermit went down to the wall to get the latest on Mr. Dumpty's condition."

  • only one that was better...was the one with Rapunzal ..tee hee

  • LOL...the cow neighed....AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • This one, for some reason, always gave me the creeps.

  • That is one freaky ass looking Humpty Dumpty.

  • @TheGizmo4382 Sure was!

  • Tht is still funnier than 95% of so called tv today !

  • What is the cow's purpose LOL

  • Golly, I just feel like a brand new person!

  • LOL ' was the frog that did it.. get the frog outta here~!!"

  • This one is so great. I love the line 'I feel like a brand new person.' So hilarious.

  • I love it!! I think it is so funny!! The best part is Dumpty's teeth!!

  • hahaha

  • "IT WAS THE FROG WHO DID IT"

  • "There he goes again! It was the frog who did it!"

    Not on purpose.

  • Well, you know what they say:

    Guilty until proven innocent.

    ...or, something like that.

  • Innocent until proven guilty, but yes.

  • yeah i think Humpty was pushed

  • I hated this sketch when I saw it as a kid. Humpty Dumpty scared me.

  • Does anyone know Kermit's name? I've noticed he's usually referred to as "The Frog".

  • @samsticka Well, he is a frog.

  • @muppetfan33 Yes, I know that. But I mean don't they know his name?

  • Yeah get that frog outta here!

  • Get the FROG outta here. .

  • Is this CSI: Sesame Street?

  • It was the frog that did it! Get the frog outta here!!

  • Whats Kermits appeal? Really..

  • Yeah, I used to go hide in the closet any time this came on and ask my mom if it was over yet!

  • Why is that?

  • I was scared of Humpty Dumpty's face.... hehee... sensitive child!

  • Okay.

  • yeah the Kinders Humpty dumpty ad scared the hell outta me wouldnt play with my Humpty soft toy for weeks after that lol

  • Classic Sesame, the best!

For all your custom-built puppet needs visit Oliver's website on the profile link above.

  • jesus christ! humpty dumpty will forever be the face of my most darkest nightmare

  • @zerotankor Can't sleep HUMPTY DUMPTY WILL EAT ME!!!!

  • @zerotankor why? It's an egg sitting on a wall

  • 0:59! poor humpty :(

  • The Kermit news flashes were my favourite part of Sesame Street when I was little, but I remember being very frightened of the Humpty Dumpty one for some reason. Something about the way the face was painted on, maybe? In any event it's so good to see them all again!

  • This one scared me, too!! The lips, the teeth, the body parts...creepy.

  • @glennorange Humpty Dumpty scared the crap outta me as a kid. I was always glad when Kermit knocked him off.

  • @glennorange Okay. Maybe I was freaked out about Humpty Dumpty's face when I was an infant a little, but not enough to cry out for my mommy.

  • They're my favorites too, miss.

  • Seeing all the King's horses and all the King's men in a classic sketch looks a lot like an episode of CSI.

  • "It's very nice to have you back" *SHMACK*

    *CRASH* LOOLOL

  • The ambulance/fire/police siren at the beginning and near the end sounds more like a civil defense siren! (The kind that would warn you about a nuclear attack, a tornado or some other destructive storm.)

  • csi;Sesame Street

  • humpty dumpty was an inside job he was going to blow the lid off a huge CIA cover so they took him out and now there going to use this to take away are rights under homeland security this is nuts

  • That's what you get with spending too much time with Grover.

  • Humpty Dumpty has a freaky looking mouth :P

The cow pretending to be a horse is amazing too :P

  • yeah it seems that humpty "cracked" under pressure and "fell apart", i guess he couldn't "keep it together" so he needed help. lol!!! i guess he "boiled" over but wasn't "hard" enought, lol. yeah i kno' i go a million of them. LOL!!!

  • LOL KWL = ]

  • i remember thinking kermit did that on purpose when i was akid

  • Humpty Dumpty talks to a frog kerimt the frog push him down all the king's horses and all the king's man coudn't put Humpty back together agian.

  • That's a nice riddle on how you said it. However, I think Kermit didn't mean to push Humpty off the wall. He was probably trying to pat him on the back to congratulate and say how proud he was that he was put back together. (Maybe Kermit didn't know that Humpty Dumpty's body was extremely light that even if one little push or one very light pat would be hard enough for him to fall down and break).

  • "There he goes again. It was the frog who did it! Get him out. Get the frog outta here!" That was Frank Oz doing that voice, right?

  • Yes, I'm sure that it was Frank Oz doing that voice. (I think I can hear a little bit of Fozzie Bear and Bert when that line is being said, and Frank Oz voiced both Fozzie Bear and Bert).

  • I heard Cookie Monster in the voice.

  • Yes, I think I can also hear Cookie Monster at the end. (Maybe in the beginning from 2:20-2:22, I can hear Fozzie Bear and Bert since Kermit is talking at that time while Frank Oz is talking which makes it sound like Fozzie Bear and Bert. Then after 2:22, Frank Oz talked like Cookie Monster because Kermit stopped talking at that time which made it easier to understand). So I guess Cookie Monster, Fozzie Bear, and Bert's voices are all being used here.

  • i loved this one when I was a kid.

  • And I thought that that cracked egg from the Kinder advert was freaky enough...

  • "Pardon me, cow. I believe it's supposed to be all the king's horses here".. lol

  • hahahahhaha!

  • This completely freaked me out when I was a kid.

  • I know. Humpty's smile is just weird. :D Love the sketch though.

  • LOL

' it was the frog that did it..'!

'get that frog out of here.!!

  • kermit says "just to recapitulate the story.... as you may recall... "Humpty DUMpty sat on a wall and Humpty dumpty had a great fall". Genius. R.I.P Jim Henson, Micheal Jackson and the talents we will never see again.

  • "oh noo Kermit the frog did it!, get him out of here, get the frog out of here ...

  • I agree with crabola437 this humpty dumpty scared the crap out of me when I was a kid, now I'm 35,lol!!!

  • I wish I knew what it felt like to have it all together again.

  • Kermit is a murder now lol

  • this humpty dumpty always frightened me when i first saw it..ill be 40 next year lol

  • one of my first memories ever was being scared to death of this humpty dumpty when i was about 2 or 3. i'm 22 now and it still kinda creeps me out.

  • This is one of the two reasons I was scared of clowns when I was little. The other being Ceaser Romero's Joker.

  • people sure freak out when an egg breaks

  • Thank you for uploading a great quality one as well.

  • If you pause it around 0:06, right before it shows Kermit reporting, you can kinda see the old NEWS FLASH title card originally used on this sketch back in 1975 (still retained on the "Old School Vol. 2" DVD set), before they replaced it with the 1986 version of the logo

  • How can things made out of fabric be much more expressive than some humans like.....Paris Hilton? Or am I being to harsh?

  • Absolutely not! Some people these days are scary!

  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE immitating Humpty when he say "I feel like a brand new person"...lolololololol.

  • I remember this skit from when I was little! I was always scared of Humpty's teeth.

  • 2:09 to 2:10 was funny

  • As a kid, I thought Humpty Dumpty looked and sounded a little too creepy for my liking in his re-assembled state. So I always thought Kermit did everyone a big favor when he gave Humpty a Grover-esque slap on the back.

Frank Oz was also qreat doing the voice of one of the king's horses, sounding like some angry beat cop: "It was the frog who did! Get him outta here! Get the frog out!"

  • I loved this when I was little especially when Humpty says "well i just feel like a brand new person"... I used to mimic him and make my sister laugh all the time...

  • This sketch is also seen on Old School Volume 2.

  • loooove that cow lol

  • Go Cow! Stick it to the frog!

  • YES

  • this one would scare me i would run to my mom crying when i was little..

  • This used to absolutely terrify me! Especially Humpty's face.

  • This is so funny. My kid is obsessed with this story right now & thankfully this doesn't use awful music to tell the story.

  • Anyone understand what Kermit was saying between 2:21 and 2:23?

  • I might be wrong but, maybe Kermit was saying, "I didn't mean to have him knocked down again" or, he might've said "I didn't mean for that to happen again."

  • "But uh.....I didn't mean to......" Of course he didn't, but he still could've been more careful.

  • As Kermit was giving Humpty Dumpty a pat on the back, maybe he didn't know that Humpty Dumpty's body was very light. (Probably even a very light pat can make Humpty Dumpty fall if he's that light). Kermit was probably being careful but,, maybe when he said that he didn't mean too, he might've meant that he didn't know that Humpty Dumpty was that light where he could fall easily.

  • Child's first introduction to dark humor. Hey! It's a cruel world out there! LOL!

  • That is kind of morbid, showing humpty dumpty in pieces....

  • It's an egg.

  • They cut out the part at the end where Kermit says "This is Kermit The Frog returning you to your regularly scheduled program."
