If you just have to wrap one gift or a few than the dollar store paper is fine. If you have many to wrap (Christmas) you are going to have to buy a lo of rolls.You have to check they yards they have per roll. Whenever I have bought the dollar store paper it runs out very quickly and tears easily so you have to be extra careful with it. I bought wrapping paper at JC Penney last year for 1.99 and it had much more yards per roll than the dollar store roll I had, and it was thick and beautiful.

The toothpaste at the Dollar Store is the same as in Target, Walmart and most other retailers. They now carry Colgate, Aquafresh and sometimes (if you're lucky) Scope mouthwash. I went to the Dolloar Store a week ago and they even had Covergirl (two full size singles for $1), New York Color, and Maybelline eyeshadows, Ardell single false lashes with glue, and Sally Hansen , New York Color and Maybelline lipglosses. The Dollar Store has been really upgrading and getting awesome deals.

This story isn't correct about the toothpaste that was shown at 2:00. I use the that brand and it is made in the USA. The FDA warned against IMPORTED toothpastes that may contain DEG(antifreeze). There could be other toothpastes at the dollar stores to avoid, but that one is safe and it's one quarter the cost of Sensodyne.

I think the best things to get are the kitchen utensils, those throw away foil pans, freezer bags, body wash for my kids, lotion (they have this big tube that's I use on my son who has excema, it's fragrance free, for $1, Aveeno, Aquaphor, etc run like $12-$14 for that same amount). I get gift bags and wrapping paper and balloons. I still get the batteries, the last okay and I dont' have $7-$8 to spend on a 4 pack of the name bracnd ones. Anyway, just had to share, the rest of that crap can stay

I think you are attaching your self worth to over paying for goods. Cheap refers to things of inferior quality. I love the dollar store, and bargains but cheap shampoo is not as good as the salon brands. Most cheap shampoos are loaded with sulfates that dry out your hair. Salon brands usually have minimal to no sulfates to keep your hair healthy and supple.

food products in dollar tree are often promo sized. they get it cheaper for buying promo sized goods in bulk that's why it's also cheaper compared to the same brand at walmart. and another reason why you can't use coupons on them {some coupons will say not on promo sized items}. lol

on actual tools at dollar tree, for small projects and easy fixes it's fine but for some other project like renovations, the quality isn't there.
