You have to pay to contribute to and take part in the perks that the game offers. If there was just monthly regular fees and no chance at all to earn money in the game, what would then be the point? It would be the same as all the other generic MMORPGs out there.

the in-game currency can be traded for real-world currency. so you loot items, sell them to other players for in-game currency, and trade that to the game owners for real-world currency.

thats simplified but basically how it works

It was made for a contest which was announced by MindArk, the creators of Entropia Universe (EU). They liked to have a "funny" video about EU.

This video is obviusly about "Sweat". Thats some stuff you can get for "free" in this game and you can sell for Real Money. You get around 0.5-1$ /h at max.. You sell it InGame and others make some "voodoo stuff" out of it ;)
