  • Shut up and take my money!

  • Make the halo ring O.o !!!

  • oh just a little thought! You could use a semi transparent globe and put some lights inside! Would look very cool!

  • That is fantastic! Really really good engineering job. I think the reasons you cannot buy them like this is the extra cost to rotate the globe, maybe even 2x the manufacturing cost.

  • So where can I buy one?

  • Good stuff

  • 1:59 pure WIN!

I would even buy it just like that

  • Always have respect for people like this. Very very clever how people can understand this lmao Confuses the shit out of me

  • very cool!!!

  • nice

  • Awesome!

  • I confess I was thinking 'meh waste of time' until I saw how cool the tilted rotating globe actually looks. Respect :)

  • ah, magic. it never ceases to amaze me

  • That's not the current behavior of the Earth. It isn't a 100% diagonal rotating axis. It doesn't have an angle, it's like... 2 cones with the thinest part united in the center of the globe. Hope you got it.

If you didn't got it, go Google "Earth Axis".

You are annoying about "not titlted" "not moving" et cetera, but you forgot the most important thing.

  • @LoonArg

No angle? Yes there is. The axis tilt is 23.4° and the celestial poles always point towards the same stars. Yes, it's varying during a 42000 year period a couple of degrees, but that would be just a silly thing to implement.

  • Cool. But is it possible to control the rotating speed or direction of the globe?

  • So you're just sending a square wave into an LC resonant energy transfer coil?

  • Very cool hack. Congratulations!

  • Why not just just pint the globe on its axis

  • @Tillmott

Sorry? Just try to do it your self...

  • @Tillmott Then it won't rotate properly, foo'. A globe that has just been titled will not rotate about the north-south axis, but rather will rotate around an axis that's perpendicular to the table, which is not what we want.

  • this is...magic. literally magic.

  • wow, what a globe!

  • Well done!

  • Very nice! This explains why other similar products do look so unnatural. Spining of the globe is a bit uneven (it slows down after period of time) but it is problably possible to make it smooth.

  • Beautiful!

  • Awesome, Now make it bigger!

  • Amazing! Nice idea, it should be done eventually. Next step would be to make it rotate real-time and even make a sun and have the globe rotate around it! Now that would be hardcore.

  • Fucking magnets! How do they work!?

  • @pillowcase1 witchcraft...

  • wow that is amazing, nice hack you've done there and if I may ask what kind of usb scope are you using?

  • @pyrolit DSO-2250 USB 100MHz

  • Good work.

  • great done do you have schematics for this?

  • nice job man!

and on top of that u managed to transfer power wirelessly. kudos!

  • Nice!! Well done.

  • that is really friggin cool.
