I'm a strong atheist. I don't hate people who are religious. Whether that be strongly or not so much. I'm not saying that every religious person does/has/wil do but I REALLY don't appreciate when people come to my appartment knocking on my door trying to tell me that I'm going to Hell. No I don't believe that there is a heaven or hell. But I know what hell is portrayed by most to be and it's not a "good" place. That's what I don't like about Religions.
hmm I never believed in god as a child, and when I asked those quetions all young children ask, I thought hard and left most of them unanswered. as for whether or not I existed or life was a dream etc, I concluded my happiness felt real to me and I should pursue it. as for any unseen consequences from doing so without understanding the nature of reality, being unseen there was no evidence of such things and thus no reason to worry about them. lastly death happens, but life is happening, enjoy it
@IGaveMyNameToThatGuy not at all psychologically damaging. in fact I abhorred the thought of being spoonfed (occasionally force fed) easy answers and effectively choosing what I saw to be a lie over actually addressing and coping with the big questions. never, never tell your child that god definitely does (or doesn't) exist, those are YOUR beliefs, and you don't know if you're right. you may think you are but that doesn't give you the authority to declare such things to a child
what you teach them is critical thinking, no one is infallibe and they should look for the truth. you have to be objective and introspective, look at why you think what you think, and research and think logically. nobody anywhere can say a definitve "yes" or "no" to that question and at no point should they
9:24 It's psychologically damaging to tell a kid that there's some thing in the sky that's ALWAYS watching you and if you don't do what it says, you'll burn forever.
I love Mormons but hate Mormonism. Get what I mean?

I think it should be a crime to teach children religion before they're old enough to decide for themselves.
