  • Looks like the transition from djembe to Tar would be fairly easy since it is held & played similarly. I've also seen people playing these with a stick using both ends of the stick, but I prefer hand drumming myself, so I enjoyed this alternative way to get into these kinds of drums. Sound as good yet much less expensive, more customizable, than djembes.

  • is the free hand style literally free hand (no specific technique)? If not, what are the basic strokes?
