  • WHAT IS THE LIFT ON CAM

  • No icing problem with headers?

Or is there some alt way to heat base of carb?

  • my dad has a 250 straight six and its going in my first truck.. lol

  • dude that looks SWEET i have a 68 biscayne with the same engine. how much horse power did that kit add and how hard was it to install?

  • Nice sounding man! My 67 came with a 250 that was the first motor we ever built and it was a dam strong runner! Good job man

  • i want one of these in my jeep...

  • Love this engine. I have a 250 in my 74 c10 farm beater and you can work that engine all day and not have to worry about thing. Snappy little prick too.

  • If anyone want a valve cover like this one in this slip. I have a good one for sale.859-339-0489

  • Great build you did there And pretty strong as well. What did you do to the head? Did you lump port it? or does it still have the big boss in the hole/Port. Either way nice build.Vary clean :)

  • @ZRATBB My mistake. YOU'RE the idiot that utilized Clifford's tech guy as your source of info. You're nothing but a catalogue shopping troll who lies about things he's done. Have a Merry Christmas and enjoy your lump of coal.

  • @ZRATBB You say he talked to a tech guy from Clifford for over two hours? I'll try to be nice here because of others that read comments, but if anyone talks to Clifford personnel for that long they haven't a clue. Clifford hasn't done any R&D since Jack Clifford died ages ago. They operate out of the son-in-law's garage and carry almost half what they did in the 80's. I think it's YOU who blurts out whatever comes to mind with no process in between. Your troll account shows your credibility.

  • we cash for clunkerd one of tholse ahhhhhhh

  • wow. amazing. i'm just installing PS on my 230. any chance you could let me know the PN's for the fan belts. I can't track them down.

    thanks

  • that's a thing of beauty

  • 20alphabet post a vid of what you've built. They guy that built that motor is a machinist in a machine shop..

  • @hammerogod PM me and tell me what you've got or what you're thinking about.

  • Nice!

  • sounds like a rotary plane engine

  • Do a Mega-Squirt install!

  • @OTheblackprojectO If someone's trying to get somewhere you've been many times you offer direction. -Kay Sissell

  • Sorry, but it sounds like crap. The camshaft has more overlap than the engine will ever use. The camshaft won't become useful until after 2K rpm and the head doesn't flow above 3.5 rpm because of the headbolts going through the intake ports. Also, the end cylinders will still run lean because of poor fuel distribution because of the carb placement. All in all not a very well thought out project. Give me a holler if you'd like to know how to make a six rip the snot out of a V8 and get about 28mpg

  • @20alphabet somebody's got a liiiiittttle to big of a head on their shoulders

  • @20alphabet

    We are all listening.

    School us.

  • @20alphabet Your a fuck'n moron... I've been building engines(Hot Rods, drag cars & boats & Drag racing Harleys ) for 30 + yrs...This is a killer build, so much so I spent 2 hrs w/the tech guy at Cliffords piecing the parts together from them to build a mill like this one for my 48 Chevy Fleetline coupe...If youy don't have anything good to say go play in the traffic..Big pat on the back Elcamino dude...From a real lovber of fine work :):)

  • hermosa loco felicitasiones. que bien el motor en negro y cromado!! que do perfecto. haora conseguite una tapa de TC las nuevas que son DOHC.

  • What cam is this? Very nice build. Clean engine bay.

  • thats sexy those are built to last forever and to be worked on in owners garage they just dont build em like that anymore very nice motor

  • thats beautiful..where did you get the valve cover tho cause i want one like that!?

  • 6's sound like junk rice rockets these days . yours sounds manly and BEEFY. old school rules. killer motor.

  • how does it runs?

  • @janchuaa are you deaf?

  • @sideshow45 aaa I have a chevelle 68 250 in line six, stock, and It sounds IQUAL soo... wtf ? and nop Im not deaf

  • @janchuaa well you asked how it ran lol and it sounds damn good from the video. That's why I said that haha. My jeep has a 242 amc inline 6 and it doesn't sound anything like this. It sounds like more of a ricer. 79 el camino with a 383 stroker sounds great..

  • that thing is kick fucking ass. Has a sweet cam thump and it's own distinguished sound.

  • Wow, giant carburator

  • where did you get the dress up kits for this....got one myself an im looking for something simillar

  • I love the all black look with the ribbed valve cover, intake, side covers, and air cleaner. If I wasn't keeping my 67 inline-6 stock, I would definitely add all this stuff. Where did you get all the parts for it?

  • @MikeyK652 Places like offenhauser, clifford racing, and langdons stovebolt co.

  • @snowman4839 It would be nice if they made dress up parts like that for a 223 ci Ford inline-6. I have one in my 57 F-100 pickup.

  • what was done to the block and heads if any? nice job .

  • healthy!!!

  • man I love to here them six bangers purr yours sounds real good

  • extremely clean wow this is beautiful

  • Very clean!! Sounds awesome!! For some reason I've got a thing for early Camaro's with the 250 I6. If I ever get one I'd want that 250 to look and sound just like this!!

  • this one is sooooo much better than the one in my 76 chevy c10

  • @richarded22 isnt that when they used intergrated heads?

  • @HillBillyAsian ya i guess so i got a vid of it up on my myspace

  • what cam is in this

  • Do you mind me asking what did you end up using for a kickdown set up for you transmission? also what throttle cable? how is the performance of the motor compared to stock? Thanks

  • how did you get it it run so good with that big 4 baral carb

  • @Mustangboy302 390cfm isn't too big. A bigger cam,a header or headers(they have a pair the bolts onto 3 cylinders a time so you can have true duel exhaust) but those mods should make a 250 handle a 390 with no prob as long as its jetted right

  • i need to find performance parts to buiold my 250 chevy, got any suggestions?

  • where did you get these parts at?

  • @forrestrocks1980 just google "Clifford Performance" and you'll find the parts website. They sell the chevy "combination" that gives you most of these parts. I'm planning to do something similar to my Camaro. Probably go the two 2brl carb route though.

  • NICE! I had a 65 Chevy Nova with this engine and never thought about sprucing it up that much.

  • how much valve clearence does a stock 250 have?

  • Looks great man.

  • im so confuse guys i had a chevy c10 82 and it has a six inline but not sure what side its how can i know the side of the engine??? and also where can i get parts for performance this engine i wanna keep it as is no v8 under hood like always its on those trucks its a little project that me and my brother r trying to work on we bough the truck 4 only $1000 bucks and damn truck has not rust at all, straigh body only a little hit on the right fender thx from vegas

  • You have a 250. go get a 292, you can get one for $ 100.00. then E-mail me

  • looks nice man, where the HELL do you get parts for this thing?

  • stovebolt performance and 6=8 performance are specialties for a straight six. You can even find a few parts on summit racing

  • I just realized I responded to myself... wow...

  • @snowman4839 HAHAHA That's funny.

  • Hot rod magazine had a issue years ago with a turbo 4 ranger (svo engine) turbo v-6 elcamino i believe (3.8 out of a buick regal i'm sure) a grip of other cars. it's been years and i lost the issue but they were all running 11- 14 seconds. I believe 12s as the joker said.

  • Do you want to make a 6 cyl out run a 350 chev. A little hint 194 head, 292 block Rambler pistons and have you heard of a pontiac sprint,

  • hey el camino dude, what duration cam and what kind of lift you runnin in that there 250?

  • oh and could i put a chevy 292 inlne 6 head on my 250 block

  • @lilridr Yeah

  • ive got me an inline 6 and the head and intake manifold is all one peice ..... can i buy performance parts that have seperate intake manifold and head? answer me please? im 16 my trucks pretty difficult to find parts.....

  • Hit the junkyards for the pre-'76 head, exhaust and intake manifolds. At 16, I seriously doubt you can afford several thousand bucks for a Sissel head, or even an old-school 12-port.

Offenhauser, Clifford Performance, Stovebolt Engine Company, and Larrowe & Sons all produce or sell inline performance stuff. Anything from internal parts to turbo exhaust manifolds to supercharger intake manifolds, and everything in between!

  • you should be able to find some split manifolds and headers and stuff like that. my dad had a 250 that was cammed out and had the split manifold and all that

  • I didnt know much about the internals cause i bought it when i was 16 back in 1987. my neightbour was a retired mechanich so he sold me the car for only $1800 cause he knew me since i was born and had no use for the "old mule" as he called it. the car was a 1964 ,4door,4spd, it had dents ,it had rust, and lots of scratches , not pretty trust me. But the $1800 was mostly the engine,tranny,9inch Ford, and free tunning until i totaled the car 3 years later while street racing spanking a Corvette

  • whoa! guys! it seems my comment was taken out of context. I like inline 6 , i didnt say I6 cant make lots of HP i said they are more famous for making huge torque numbers than for making huge HP, dont get me wrong. 400 hp is a lot but im more concern about making torque wich is what moves mass , hp dont move mass ,torque does . My neighbour sold me his Valiant with a 225 slant 6 , and it was a beast , it only had 300 hp , but it had 475 of torque . the car ran 12:077 all day. i know my stuff

  • @the13joker I do not believe you. 400 hp. 12;00 out of a slant 6 BILL shit.

  • @kennethrobinson11231 , i dont care if you believe it , but it was true. the car ran low 12 on slicks, the car had the interior gutted out for the races , and full interior for daily use ,and it was 300hp not 400 hp. sorry i can give specs on the engine since i didnt built it , i just got it that way , and the tunning was free from the builder. i was only 16 back then, now im 38. I wish i knew then ,what i know now. No b.s. my friend the car was quick , ugly, rusty, dented, but it was quick .

  • @kennethrobinson11231 hi my friend. type in the search deal here on youtube relentless reliant. 10.5's turbo 4. i believe the joker

  • @darricknratrods thanks you , there are some guys out there skeptikal and non believers, that think only a V8 can make horsepower or run 12 on the 1/4 mile. Thats been closed minded. Theres more outh ther than just V8's go challemge your skills , cause anyone can make 300 o 400 HP from V8. Peace out!!

  • @the13joker

Did I sell you that Mercruiser valve cover off Ebay? It looks like one of mine. I'll have a set of Merc side covers and a valve cover like yours up for sale next week on Ebay. Sounds Great!

    Regards, Yourhometeam

  • @usedboats1 , sorry man , it wasnt me.

  • @the13joker This guy that hangs out with a friend of mine has a Nova that runs in the 10 sec 1/4 mile range with a l250 it is on juice though but its mean while not being sprayed also

  • too the joker13 i have a inline 6 makin 400hp all throttle excuse me

  • inline 6 are not famous for horsepower ,but they are famous for having lots of torque.

  • Shut your cock pleaser joker. Tell that to someone who owns a Supra, skyline, or who ever else has a modded I6. My friend has a 4.9 (300) Ford I6 with more than 400 hp. ALSO, The HP vs TQ ratio is determined my many things not just the engine config, like: Bore, stroke, cam, heads, intake etc.... Do some research before you post.

  • @heatherandpaul2 Fuc? your ford. we're talking chevy. here.

  • waht mufflers(s)

  • Sounds great

  • damm i dont really like straght six engines but this one is nice how much horsepower iz it packin

  • How can you not like old fashioned Big block inline sixes?

What do you think came before the V8? XD

  • ive got a 67 chevelle 4dr with a 250 inline and am in the process of rebuilding it and was wonderingwhat cam you used to get that lovely sound

  • very nice

here in Brazil this engine is the most adored, used in OPALA, Great sound.

    RODRIGO !

  • I bet from stop light to stop light it will out run or keep up with a v8.

  • sounds like my boat. it has 2 of these.

  • Wow sounds great for inline 6 and im a ford guy lol.

what exhaust setip did you use to make it sound like that?

  • Dam that's a mean I-6! Well done!

  • Is it the Cliffords that make it sound that way?

  • I have -65 chevelle stw with 230.

    Great sounds you got.

Where i can buy clifford products.?

  • Search google for "clifford 6=8". They're pricey, but worth it. Great stuff.

  • ud think its a small block v8

  • Sounds beautiful, I have 250 I might put into my 81 cutlass

  • wow, how much you got in the build, im still deciding on if i wanna build up the 250 in my pickup or V8 it, pretty much on a tight budget with the youngin on the way

  • I love straight 6's.

    Great sound.
