  • nice vid... Tamiya for life

  • well thank you sir i bet this servo is a lifesaver huh

  • whats the best servo you can recomend me to get?

  • Especially I recommend to you Futaba 9551 (or 9550) because it is quick and strong enough.

But I guess any servo is OK for M-05 if it satisfies following.

    torque - more than 70oz-in.

    speed - less than 0.2 sec/60°

    metal gears and ball bearings

    ;-)

  • does this kit come with blue bits?

  • how much did Takahashi pay for the wig? ;) nice car by the way.

  • Hello, supergreg-san,

Hahaha, that is 100 percent his REAL hair!! XD

    Yes, of course it's true.

Anyway I have really taken to this car.

    :D

  • yea really but right now ive hit a bump in the roda i destroyed my steering servo on the m03 daaamn i need to know where could i get a new one??? thanks bro:)

  • It's too bad,, but various strong servos are waiting for you. Please try them!

Then, I guess this M-05 is also designed to protect steering servo.

  • dude this has to be one of the best m chassis ever so far god bless tamiya and its designers

  • Thanks for commenting!

M-05 is really good model. :D

  • Guys, today I have a good news about M-05.

Last weekend, I went to Tokyo to make the M-05 pro for next issue of RC world magazine.

All the plastic-gears of M-05 is same as M-03 as you know.

Of course the size of its drive cup bearing is also 1150 for well known classical ball-diff.

But it's set by plastic adaptor to gearbox and diameter of that adaptor is 15mm.

I noticed also they are making a brand new Ball-Diff for M-05 now!!

  • Will the car get the clear shocks or the aluminum TRF goodies?

  • M-05 pro kit include a set of clear plastic CVA damper.

it is same as M-03R's but colorless.

I assembled both of clear CVA and aluminum for the articles.

Of course various make's aluminum shocks diversion from M-03 is just possible also.

At first, you may set their length same as your M-03 and it is OK.

But its front-shocks seem to need more softness than M-03R.

  • new ball diff! awesome. Hope it can give some slipper clutch action.

  • Thanks for commenting.

Yes, that detail made me high. XD

The design of new ball-diff might be something like a DF-03's rear-diff.

Anyway, I hope it is more effective, easy to maintain

and good protector for the gear-train. ;-)

  • Hi! I'm really excited for the M-05 Pro. I keep watching this video over and over. 1 more week! Anyways, I noticed the chassis you were holding had alot of blue alloy (washer cones, shocks, knuckles, etc), is that the way the Pro comes or is that Maezumi's special car? thanks

  • Hello, thanks for watching and commenting.

M-05 pro has a pair of alloy rear-upright, some blue spacers and pillow-balls, its

    front uprights are plastic parts.

So, other blue alloy parts ( front steering brocks, dampers and almost blue screws ) were selected by Mr. Maezumi for the demonstration. ;-)

However, I believe M-05 does not betray your expectation.

  • very hot

  • Yes, also I'm excited at the thought of M-05. :-)

  • Please help where did you get this from

  • Sorry, she's not mine.

Satoshi Maezumi of TRF driver was assembling this M-05.

Unfortunately he was not in time for the race,

so we could not watch its performance.

  • Where did you get it from i didn't think they were sold yet????? please help

  • This M-05 is not mine, a proto-type.

Staffs of Tamiya inc. brought it, at the Tamiya challenge cup.

  • I'm wishing I would've held out on the Cup Racer and waited for the M05 Pro. That thing looks great! I might sell my Cup Racer and if I can get what I want for it I'll get the M05. If not I'll trade for a TT01 and do the 3Racing mini conversion. M05 pro FTW!

  • Thanks for commenting.

Also I believe M05 is ideal thing to almost Mini chassis users.

Then, I think you had better keep your Cup-Racer because they have different goodness each. and I want to get also my one if I can afford. My old friend designed it and I like it.

By the way, can TT01 convert into Mini size?

I have never known such a 3-racing kit!

    thank you. :D

  • Many thanks for this great and funny little review. Seems the new steering on the M-05 is much better then the one on the HPI Switch.

  • Thanks for commenting.

I'm a little afraid that it may be unfair to compare the Switch and this M-05 Pro, but I think Tamiya knew well what they had to do.

To our joy, M-05 is just as a M-03 Evolution.

  • Great review! thanks :)

  • Thanks for commenting ;-)

  • yeah im holding out for the tamiya series though!

  • Wow, thanks :D

Umm.. I guess M-03 was harder about its setup on carpet surface than some other make's mini rockets (like mini LST), as you said in past.

  • hahaha yeah i hate those losi pieces of crap. we dont even race those either! its all traxxas slash indoor now

  • For real? I liked that race vid even if they're pieces of crap.

    So, do you like Traxxas?

  • yeah its a fun truck but all the sitching classes is expensive...

  • the mini's have died in my hobby shop......:(

  • Oh no....

I hope to bring them back by your power...
