Could one of you guys make me a man in a metal armor I'm making a shoot um up game and the people from click team are helping me so if you want email me at moonstaradventure@ymail.com
you guys need to get into flash, its not that hard sheez, just look up tutorials on how to learn Action Script, & how to make games. once you get the basics, make a quiz game, then a point & click game, then platform & so on...
@gamealogic Flash is almost as slow as Multimedia Fusion. Though it has the added benefit of being cross-platform, it's probably going to get phased out in favor of HTML5. Even Adobe is developing a (probably even slower) FLA to HTML5 converter.
@BlazeHedgehog well that is true. but when for example making a game in mmf2 lets say i what my chracter to have like 20 fighting moves, it world be incredibly hard.
but in flash all you have to do is make that 20 frames draw the moves out add some code like when the user press a button down it will go to that fighting frame. then after 4 seconds from being on that frame go back to the standing frame
@SuperSusano101 Game maker is relatively harder to program in, but has a little more features than MMF2 and overall it's demo is free. MMF2 is relatively easier to program in and is great for begginers. The price on MMF2 though is high but features an 30 day trial version, but you cannot build (make the game an .exe) the games.
Game maker: It's a little harder to program, but, it all pays off. as an experienced GM user (I use GM8) is a definite start towards your days of game-making. With gm, you can use either experience of coding or the drag & drop functions to make physics for a load of characters. It's usually 20$ - 25$, depending on what version you're using, to upgrade to pro. but, you start at lite. and you can get into it really fast. MMF2 costs around 500$ or something, hard to get into
Hey dude, could you put a link in your description so we can download your engine for educational purposes. You don't have to if you don't want to but it would be great if you could because I'm a MF newbie. Ps, if you don't could you at least make a tutorial?
I'm having problems trying to implement slopes in my engine. I have never done slopes before, and I have no idea how to go about it. Could you give me a few pointers?
Your engines and games R awsome. You aint an Admin at MFGG yet, but with your current productions, "well lets just say, the right man in the wrong place, can make all the difference in the world"... Nah just kidding. GO YOU BH!
In my opinion Game maker Does not compare to MMF2. The sprite editor sucks, the programming is very limited and testing games with it and the user friendliness is terrible. Stick with click and play, flash , java and a few other apps for game making.
I've heard some people say Game Maker gives you more control, but again, I've never used it. Don't intend on using it, seeing as games made in GM usually don't work right on my PC.
@BlazeHedgehog i guess i can't officially make any comparison, like you i only know 'one side of the coin' and only have had experience with game maker (and at that, quite minimal experience) but looking at MMF tutorials, i believe game maker is more of a use friendly program, and looking at games made with game maker, if you actually TRY you can make a spectacular game.
nice i would love how to use that program instead of gamemaker. can i still use the same features. did you get the full version. any walkthrus on this game program. sorry if im bothering you or getting in the way
p.s lol nice knuckles gliding sound from sonic adventure 2
I just searched for MMF2, and I must say that engine is extremely impressive. I agree with the other comments when I ask for you to please release that as open source. The clickteam forums would go nuts over it.
Depends on what you go for. TGF2, the most barebones package (and the worst) costs $60? MMF2 Standard is $120. MMF2 Professional is... $240+? I can't remember.
WOAH! Excuse me, but is there any chance you publish a tutorial or your engine? I just bought MMF 2 and I used to make games in 1.5 and I seem to have forgotten how to use many of the program's features. Is there any way to contact you?
Is there anywhere I can download this?

This isn't hard to make at all. The only problem you might come across making this yourself is if you aren't very good at drawing sprites.

You know, the speed and acceleration is far too high for making a true Mario game... It takes out some of the challenge in the game.
FoxBlitzz 5 years ago
The speed is high because a good friend of mine complained a considerable about that my previous fangame, MarioWeen, was much too slow. :P
And slowing down acceleration after being used to it at this speed... makes it feel too sluggish.
BlazeHedgehog 5 years ago
Hmm, maybe I'm just being too purist. :D
