  • Overall I like the video and campaign but I think it's ridiculous to suggest that most people can travel 5km in 10 minutes. Most cyclists are not fit males on racing bikes (esp in a place like Malmo). Stopping for traffic lights alone slows most people down to the point where they are lucky to travel much more than 3km in 10 minutes. I was recently riding in Toukyou and it took me close to 30 minutes to travel 5km even though I was treating red lights and stop signs as strong yield signs.

  • At ~0:30: 5km in 10min = 30kph = 18mph!!! They are really fit in Malmo! :)

  • Railings at lights! Something that i never even thought of but makes so much sense.

  • Railings at traffic lights, brilliant simple but effective idea. I think that is what happens when cyclists are actually involved in planning.

  • This is just another reason that I want to live in Malmo. Maybe these guys can come to Dallas. I can only imagine how much cleaner and quieter it would be if only 20% of Dallas used bikes for short rides -- That would be like the entire city of Malmo using a bike, ~300K people! Not to mention the reduction in traffic. Biking / Malmo rocks!!!

  • Well done Malmo..!
