  • For me The best guitar teacher.. Thank's for your methods and performarnce.

  • @AUGUSTOAUSANIO Agreed, I have all his books and DVDs as well. He is the best teacher that I have come across with. Wish I could take some personal lesson from him.

  • Simply astounding!

  • Beautiful!

  • i have no idea how is he doing it, but i love what he does.

  • @aleksandersucharski That's the beauty of good music

  • Oh yeah, Don is truly one of the greats!!!!!

  • What incredible counterpoint and chord voicing choices!

  • Lovely to hear the Les Paul sounding big time warm and jazzy, on such a great tune, so well played. You inspired a video response. We hope that you like it. Best wishes, Dave ('Small Days')

  • What a fantastic guitarist Don Mock is, highly underrated imho. Love his "Speed of Light" album.!

  • IS IT A ´59 LES PAUL OR WHAT??????

  • Great Jimmy Wyble ! Great Don Mock !!

  • About every 500th serious player attempts something this enjoyable and NAILS IT this beautifully!...GO @DON MOCK! :-)

  • Hes counterpointing it!!! thats insane...2;24 (burree) quick phrase,,nice,,,very Bachish in a lot of parts.

  • Absolutely lovely. Straight into my favourites. And so nice to see a LP being used in this fashion. 5 stars *****

  • @s1914 ....completely agree. Nice to hear an LP being used on something other than the "insane" channel of a Line 6 Spyder.

  • Absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for posting this video.

  • Very cool Don..and a wonderful tribute to Jimmy Wyble : )

  • Great player , a real musician/guitarist playing a Les Paul!

  • Masterful.

    allen

  • If it wasn't for Don Mock and the books I bought from Guitar Axis, I wouldn't be half the jazz player I am today. He's the greatest

  • I know this paraphrasis only since 15 min's but I heard it three times. Awesome. Don is the absolute combination of the knowledge and emotion.

  • Beautiful !!

  • oh man he's getting old! one of my favorite teachers ever. an amazing player to boot

  • Don is so inspiring as a player and was one of my favorite teachers at GIT. Listening to him always makes me want to pick up my guitar and learn something new.

  • Amazing guitar player! A Great Musician and teacher, Don Mock is a master on ultra-modern synth guitar and also a magnificent traditional player in the great be-bop and hard-bop tradition. Unfortunately I he never played live in Italy......too bad!

I miss the Rhumba-style ending on Round about midnight.....:-))

    ettore

  • awesome!

  • Holy Crap, Don! Thanks for makin' the rest of us feel like knuckleheads. Just kidding, of course. Well, kinda. My absolute favorite teacher at GIT '79-80. Wonderful human being and one of the greatest players on the planet. You still inspire me. Thank you!

  • สุดยอดมากๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆๆ

  • YES YES YES!

    Thank you, Don.

    Water to the soul.

    Blessings from Ky.

  • Don was my guitar teacher in West Seattle in the early '70's......hi Don!!

  • Went to a Camp and Don was one fo the sessionist!

His Chordal theory books are still hat I use when I'm in a pinch he explains it so clearly!

  • I have nothing intelligent to contribute after hearing this... I'm speechless.

  • He is brilliant. He was one of my favorite teachers at GIT. Funny, you'd go to a lesson/counseling with him, have a great session, it would be time to go and Don would be saying, "Wait, one more thing, there's this..." etc. It was great, he always was so giving and wanted help you. GREAT guy, GREAT player. Should be better known. But all that have known and heard him understand he is top shelf.

  • I just saw your video lessons, and read some of your Jazz-Fusion Methods... YOU ARE A GREAT TEACHER AND MUSICIAN!!!

  • Don, from my days at GIT in '86...I will always recognize the genius that you are. I wish you could have experienced more recognition for your skills and knowledge but many of us truly know. Thank you for your wisdom and insight into the music!

  • The best guitar video I ever saw!

  • Fantastic playing ! Makes me want a les paul !

  • amazing!

  • Fantastic!!!! Complete domain over the instrument!

  • This guy is just a Monster!

  • At the very end looks like Don just woke up. He plays better anybody in his sleep!

  • Don's the greatest. Learned more from him than anyone else. Wish you all the best!

  • Incredible how a talent like that is not famous and on stages across the world, is absurd, he taught at all, was a founder of GIT, wrote some of the best texts for teaching modern day classics now, a talent so could bury those who wanted ...... but he did not, remained more or less in the shadows, also record the testimonies are very few, mystery of mysteries.

    GENIUS

  • @fullbach Well said. I couldn't agree more! An unheralded genius pretty much sums it up. I learned so much from Don when I was at GIT many years go and I'm still learning from him today. What a talent and a cool guy as well. My favorite player...

  • GREAT!!!

  • My favourite guitar player and probably the best guitar player in the whole damn world,it has greatly saddened me over many years why he has not been heard and seen more and made more albums, not living in the US it has always been my dream to learn from him,i hope one day i can meet him and let him know what a huge impact his playing(what little i have heard thru his videos and 2 albums) have had on me spiritually and my playing, god bless him for being !

  • Beautiful, Don.

What a pleasure to see you play this way.

Jimmy Wyble and Joe Pass are smiling.

  • Amazing. Thank you for your inspiration and willingness to share your knowledge. I own five books (Melodic, Harm min, Turnaround, Target Tone, Modal Mojo) , and I've learned a lot. Hope someday to see your gig!

  • I'm studing his book, Secrets of melodic minor. He is one fo the best teacher and jazz guitarist. Thanks for this video. I enjoyed so much.
