  • Iron Mike is laying down the law!!

  • used to play this all the time in my early teens, best boxing game ever. they need to port this. better than fight night. its simple and never gets old.

  • i fuckin love this game!! never gets old

  • in Real Deal each fighter is shown a 9 or a 10 at the end of a round so you know who did better, even though a lot of times you had a better percentage of punches landed and still lose which is bullshit, but this game you get ripped off every time regardless, and they don't even show you the score, only the stats for punches. So yeah, you want a good boxing game play Real Deal, Greatest Heavyweights is the Greatest Piece of Shit.

  • also, throwing jabs do next to nothing on an opponent, not even knocking them back long enough to get yourself in position to move in, most of the time the opponent keeps right on moving in or keeps on attacking without even being fazed. Jabs are reach moves, for keeping the opponent at a distance so you can regroup a little bit, but not in this fucking game. The other thing that sucks is there's no way of knowing whether you won a round or not, there are no scores shown like in Real Deal.

  • 4:36 He asked for that.

  • hey maybe you can help me. i had this game as a kid and recently got it for an emulator. i cant throw uppercuts! i looked up a FAQ and it said to press a+b or b+c but it wont work. i tried it with all the directions on the pad but still no avail. can ya help me?

  • Poor Oscar Ogg. That guy was always good for an easy win.

  • I always loved how it had a newspaper article with your boxer after your fights.

  • I loved Real Deal boxing. I had no idea that this game was a sequel. That's a shame, I would have totally gotten down on this.

  • This game was boss. I used to be so cheap once I fought the short guys, it was always non-stop head blows lol

  • lol this game looks like it inspired fight night

  • LOOK AT THE SPIT 3:18 hahahaha SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pllllllayer One!! lol

  • wow i thought real deal boxing was awsome this is brill! i must buy it

  • dude your the shit....my brother use to beat my ass in this game...

  • My favorite boxing game outside of Knockout Kings 2001 and Fight Night Round 2

  • @Bigdan1429

Yeah fight night round 2 was tight... Still play that game on my xbox original from time to time.... And I agree this game is really well done and one of the better boxing games out there... This and Evander Holyfield boxing...

  • looks like an uglied up version of 'REAL DEAL BOXING'

  • Nope. this game had body types, reach advantages, and stun punches. it made a HUGE tactical difference. notice after a few clean punches land, the boxer that gets punched goes flying backwards. that makes it impossible to spam punches. i dont know why this guy knocks out every guy in 3 punches, that's a cheat code or something but it's not the real gameplay.

  • the greatest boxing game ever made!

then its Fight Night Round 1,2,3,etc. series

  • i could almost hear the ol ref. say "well gimme some meat and taters, hyugh, hyugh, hyugh!!"

  • Now this really brings back a lot of great memories. We used to sit around in the dorm and play 3 games: this, NBA Jam, and Joe Montana Football for hours and hours. Ahhh, good times *sniffle*

Used to love beating up on TJ Sharkey! lol.

  • that gamee rules!

  • I also am an old school fan of Mike Tyson. He was great back in the day, we could use someone like him again. The heavyweight division could use some cleaning out. But, the lower weights are still decent of course.

  • Yeah that is true about the heavyweight division needing some excitement, shincyriades. I thought that Vitali Klitschko would provide that spark, but injuries have prevented him from being the dominating force that he can be.

Vitali kind of reminds me of Ivan Drago, although a nicer version lol. It will be interesting to see what he does with his comeback, if he does ever come back.

  • Lamon Brewster also showed the kind of heart and determination that a fighter needs to succeed, but he unfortunately could not maintain a level of consistency and is now out of the picture by the looks of things. Wladimir Klitschko beat him soundly in his last fight.

Samuel Peter appears to be the current powerhouse heavyweight and he's got a lot of heart too. Hopefully he can bring back some magic into a dying division.

  • dont worry, ill be there up soon :). anyways this video rocks and i'm a tyson fan as well.

  • Thanks, and good luck with your own endeavors!

  • Cool, I hope that you clean up the division sometime soon, RazorzTheName1991! It really needs someone with heart, skill and determination. Mike possessed all of these qualities at his best, despite what his critics maintain.

  • Evander Holyfield has acknowledged how Mike inspired him to become a heavyweight and how he was that "damn good", so his words can be taken to heart, over some critic that never even stepped inside a ring before.

His knockout style involved so much risk and many fail to appreciate just how much Mike was willing to sacrifice of himself.

  • alot of the lft/rght body jabs set up the upper cut so well in this game. These combos work on almost every fighter.

  • Yeah the body jabs are very effective as you pointed out, bonafide1498. Mike Tyson would of course throw body hooks to set up his own uppercuts, but those hooks don't always work well in this game and so my fighter had to rely on jabs instead.

Hooks to the body work a lot better in Riddick Bowe Boxing for the Super Nintendo, which is another game that I am planning on recording a speed run for.

  • Thanks for showing me how to build a good boxer (pumping up strength and speed) and the killer body/uppercut combo

  • You're welcome, ioport! I believe that the game's designers were fond of Mike Tyson and his killer combo, since it also works wonders in Evander Holyfield's "Real Deal" Boxing.

The fact that I am Mike Tyson fan myself also helped. I obviously wanted to adopt his knockout style, since it generally works wonders.
