Appears to be very mild in her brain, but... just wanted to study a bit. Nice!

    ps. She's the BEST♥

  • I like that the music you chose wasn't horribly depressing.

  • what is the song that starts at 0:13? it's gorgeous!

  • @theatergeeksjk24601 Its a song from Final Fantasy advent children. Tifa's theme.

  • I have this syndrome and thank you

  • its not sad or tragic these kids bring so much joy they are unique and beaitiful, so what they have disabiliies EERYONE hS VARYING LEVELS OF C HALLENGES AND LIMITS STOP FEELIN SORRYA ND START CELEBRATING THERE LIVES INCLUDE THEM AND BEFRIEND THEM LOVE THEM !!!

  • its a shame that even the smallest mess up in the human genome or chromosomal abberrations cause unfortunate disorders like this .

  • you like final fantasy 7 a lot eh hehe same here.

  • No, it's called 'cri du chat" because the cry of a child born with this syndrome sounds like the mewing of a distressed cat. Not even kidding.

  • I love the beginning music! Poor kids who get cri du chat....

  • Jrdan: U R GAAAAAY

  • Will u mind if i use this for a school report

  • @PS3playa1234 I do not mind at all

  • i'm diggin' the Final Fantasy 7 piano at the "people with" section

  • muii buena informacionn

  • my mum cares for a 40 yr old with this, he is the most amazing person ever :)

  • Nice usage of the Advent Children soundtrack. :P

  • wats the song before white and nerdy

  • i heard that first song years ago and cant remember its name, could some1 tell me about it?

found this video coz of looking information about this desiese. my teacher mentioned it at school and i got.. interested in it, altho it's horrible that sicknesses like that do exist

  • Jibbs- Does your chain hang low

  • @Tinotaa The Song Is G-Slide By Lil Mama

  • lol @ Final Fantasy VII music

  • hey anyone doing biology or genetics here? iìm in highschool, and i stil have to choose where to go next, how's it like?

  • im a pathobiology student, its a lot of work but very interesting, i take a lot of mcb courses like genetics and microbio, but then many courses about diseases, be prepared to spend a lot of time at the library studying if you pick any science based major

  • genetics sucks as a class

  • @JustCallMeCade im in high school we learned about this

  • what is the name of the song that plays from 1:03 to 1:35

  • It's the theme song to the movie Forrest Gump.

  • wow. i practically started tearing up during this video. i'm a genetics major, and i was learning about this disorder in class, and i wanted to know more about it. all i wanna say is that all of the kids in this video are absolutely beautiful, no different than any other child. second of all, i really commend those families, and especially mothers, who have sons and daughters with this. i can only imagine how tough it must be. i respect you guys. :)

  • genetics major where???im a bio major and never heard of a program where i am from , but i find it to be one of the most interesting part in biology along with drugs

  • @paulanka2000 Emory University in Atlanta Georgia. but i'm transferring to UCLA in Los Angeles California next year to continue my studies, so i know they have a genetics major there also :)

  • what is tuition like there if you dont mind me asking, its 5000-6000 here in canada per year

  • @paulanka2000 wow!!! only 5000-6000?! you are very lucky. is it like that in most of canada? well, emory and ucla are both one of the best Ivy league schools in the U.S. so they are on the more expensive side... Emory is about 35,000 a year and UCLA is about 45,000.

  • only if you are canadian, because the government funds schooling, even our health care is free!! international students will pay a higher price, depending if their government funds it as well, for an undergrad your price is insane for 1 year, how do afford that? massive loan or parents?

  • @paulanka2000 haha. silly me! i totally forgot the gov't funds your schooling. yup, this is the price for most top schools in the United States. its definitely not easy. i don't have one friend who didn't have to take a loan, no matter how wealthy their family was. there are always many opportunities for scholarships and financial aid here however. not sure if it works the same in canada. also, families start saving for a longggg time for the kids' college tutions. its a pretty big deal here. :P

  • what music is playing at 0:32?

  • almost *

  • wow, I almnost cried.

  • So sad.

It's horrible that these chromasomal disorders happen.

  • To all the ignorant inconsiderate people that would to display their immaturity...You don't really know what life is all about. You'll sit in your little bubble all your life never knowing the love that a family can provide you. Victims of Cri-du-Chat were born with a chromosonal disorder. They can't help it. So what's your excuse for being so d*** inconsiderate and uncaring.

  • my daughter got this syndrome as well..and first i wanna say thank you for making this video and second..may ya'll hating ppl burn in hell!!...

  • GOOD VIDEO

YOU CANT EXPECT THESE IGNORANT PEOPLE THAT MADE THESE COMMENTS TO UNDERSTAND THEY ARE ALLERGIC TO KNOWLEDGE,

I however found it quite interesting and will continue to research this disorder.

    Thanks

  • srsly, the haters should stop 'spergin and pay soem attention to the science

  • the pictures toward the end nearly made me tear up, but then riding dirty started playing

  • Actually...it was white and nerdt the parody by Weird Al~

  • Cri-du-chat syndrome, due to a deletion of the short arm of chromosome 5

  • gud job homie.....

    helped me out alot

wit my Biology project about Syndromes

  • "Caused by the deletion on the short arm of chromosome 5, the cause is unknown".

    What?

The cause for the deletion or the disorder?

Th cause for the disorder is the loss of genes due to the deletion.

  • nice high school biology project

  • tifas theme!

  • 0:40 scared me lol

  • The cat crying sound misses.

  • thz man

helped me a lot in my project xPP

  • God loves his children

  • Hodiaŭ mi lernis pri tiu sindromo.

    Tre malofta malsano.

    Ĝis

  • haha wow a bit redundant at 46?

  • LOL true

  • wel done, but the music is annoying... Just choose one music and do not skip the whole time...

  • Just doing a little self-research on a subject I know little about. Had to say, your video was lovely and very well-done; I am not surprised this is an A+ :) The inclusion of the Final Fantasy and Weird Al music was great. :D

  • That was good.... I am doing a project on Cri-Du-Chat and I wanted to show my class some of these videos....especially this one because the music fits so well in the sad parts...

  • I was just learning about this disease. A girl at my school had Cri du Chat. She died about 6 days ago, from 2 heart attacks. The school made a memorial for her.

  • excel958!!

I was hoping someone else would notice the song at the end :)

  • haha white n nerdy :D

  • 47, -5p

    you forgot the genotype.

  • lol

    46, -5p

    i typo'd

  • i'm doing a presentation on cri du chat so i was looking up videos & i just wanted to say that yours is very well done!

  • This video was short but very informational. It helped me with my Genetics take home test lol, and it your right, it has helped me to reflect on my own life, and further my drive to succeed in the health field. Thanks

  • Aeris' theme?

  • WHO is GORDON??

  • did you have to make this for school? it's pretty nice. Just wish we could've heard the cry, though.

  • My little sister is diagnosed with Cri-Du-Chat. If some people wanted to know stuff, here are some things I've noticed. My sister can talk, but not very well-mostly small things, like Mommy and Daddy. Also, my family has taught her how to sign certain things, like please or thanks. My sister is not greatly affected, but she is not in regular classes in school. The doctors said that she would never walk, but she can-she runs!I don't think I'd be who I am today without her.

  • i wanted to hear the cats cry

  • im doing a science project on this disease and i have some questions i need to answer for it but i cant finde the answers so if anyone knows this please tell me.......

how does this genetic abnormality specifically cause the syptoms of this disease?

so why does it makes those thing happen to the people

  • wow. i am doing a 3 page summative assighnment for my science class. and you probobly alrady know this but the abnormalaties are caused by a short part of chromosone 5 missing. and if you studied, you would know that the chromosones are very densely packed ribbons of DNA. so these symptoms are from the lacking DNA. and no, im not a nerd. im just a guy that procrastinated on my summerative until the day before it was due.

  • all the kids are adorable. honestly, i couldnt tell they had a disease. does it have any mental defects or just physical? this was a great video

  • Beautiful work. My cousin has CDC. :)

  • Acsolutlely Wonderful video! Very informative! Beautiful Children!!!!!!!

  • o.k.thanks a lot!

    & nice video btw!

    <3

  • what is the song played at the ''symptoms'' part?thank you in advance.<3

  • Its the Forest Gump Theme!!!!!!

  • FFVII music ftw!

  • they don't live more than 2 years...

  • Yes they do...I work with a 9 year old boy with Cri Du Chat...

  • the teacher told us about it in class...seems like it isn't right:P

  • Most children with Cri du Chat have a normal life expectancy.

  • Maybe your teacher mixed it up with Tay-Sachs disease. Children with Tay-Sachs usually do not live past the age of 5.

  • That's not true .

After first year, they have a normal life expectancy.

  • Hi I have a sister who is 27 this year and has Cri Du Chat sydrome! we have been told that she will live to a ripe old age so I am prearing myslef to be responsible for her when my parents are no longer around.

    Best wishes

  • does he talk??

  • i have a daughter she is 15 yrs old ,she has a same problem,, can i ask u for some information, please reply me thanks

  • u shoulda put an example of the cry .. u suck

  • lol u missed the fact why its called cry of the cat.. its because when they cry they sound like a cat..

  • I have to give some sort of moving visual for our mental & genetic disorder we chose. (I was the only one in the class who could speak French, and the link our teacher gave us for the disease are in français)

  • this is sad but good. would you mind if i used this for a school project...?

  • sure, do what you want with this

  • what the hell...

and the music wasn't "by" you, dumbass

  • very interesting, i have a daughter who has this syndrome and i am finding a was to cure her but i read that it cannot be cured

  • my son also has a cdc syndrome, he is 3 year old now.just wanna know the age of your son right now. and do he have sister or brother are they normal? coz i am worry about the second time to have a son again.

  • Hi,my name is jaime, and im about to become a doctor.I read your worries about having a second baby. There's something called in spanish "diagnostico genetico prenatal",these are a series of tests that are practiced to the mother by a genetist, and through that results the doctor and yourself can have a more lucid panorama of the prognosis of your future pregnancys

  • funny story. i'm a med student... and if you plan on being a doctor that saves lives you wont be rich. so fuck yourself.

  • oh. and you're obviously mexican or some shit so that means your medical school sucks. fuck you... again.

  • hi i have a daughter 15 yrs old she is my first child suffering cri du chat syndrum, my another daughter is 3 yrs younger than her, i went for amnio test at 12th week of my pregnancy that tell the genetic problem, otherwise there are rare chances of repition so dont worry go ahead with another baby be happy,

  • lol

  • I am a mosaic of Cri Du Chat which means some of my cells are affected by Cri Du Chat and I don't have an abnormal larynx.

  • sweet credit music lol. i am afraid to go near somene with M R :(

  • your report was on cri du chat but you must have ADHD. at least pick one god damn song.

  • lmao

  • A lot of your information is wrong.

    And your grammar is poor.

  • some of those kids look like cats

    thats badass

  • good info but u needa work onur sound cuts, pretty jumpy

  • ...yours was filled in boring information.

yet mine? well, mine was filled with poking fun at the syndrome. and i am hated for it. check it out, yo.

  • by an abnormal larynx. are you kiddding. no. it is caused by the absent short arm of 5th chromozone, yes. most cri du chat people though have mental retardation, it is what it causes.A+ movie? you could have done so much more. i think one of those kidws with cri du chat was my sis lol jk but she has it and shes pretty caommon on the internet. id give is a 3/5. worth watching, but nothing really gained.

  • ...And the abnormal larynx is caused by the lack of the short arm of the 5th chromosome, by the way, spelled chromosome wrong. Jesus christ, check your shit before dissing on people's videos....

  • that... was completely unuseful to me. i kid with cri du chat could do better. if you have it... good job. otherwise try again

  • Really? It explained and gave examples of the disorder quite well -- and what might be wron with it?

  • thanks this helped my project for school, but I feel bad for the kids in there.

  • what? you used my video!?! FOR SCHOOL?!?! this is what i made it for , cool
