In talent training, specialties on Tibetological studies have been established to nurture professional talents in major universities including Minzu University of China and Tibet University, etc.
Meanwhile, professional institutions have been set up including Tibetology Research Center of China and Academy of Social Sciences of Tibet. Up to date, China has over 50 institutions engaged in Tibetological studies and more than 30 related publications.
In excavation and classification of ancient books, many ancient documents and materials have been saved, classified, mended and studied. Rare books, unique copies as well as invaluable manuscripts have been well protected.
In historical studies, researchers have developed a distinctive way of exploring, analyzing and summarizing Tibetan historical materials more objectively. Also, developed disquisitive methodologies such as Marxist philosophy and approaches of scientific research have been applied in the research. The publication of a batch of reference books indicates the prosperity of the Tibetological studies in China, such as "Tibetan-Han Dictionary" and "Donggar Tibetology Dictionary".
"After 60 years of development, modern Tibetology has comprehensively inherited the fruits of traditional Tibetological studies, also made breakthrough by applying certain modern scientific theory," said Drongbu Tsering Dorje, director of the contemporary institute of Tibet's Academy of Social Sciences.
Dorje said: "It has developed into a comprehensive discipline involving overall studies of the Tibetan society, ranging from politics, economy, nationality, religion, philosophy, archaeology, medicine and process engineering."
Authorities have in the past taken monks away from restive areas for "re-education", which activist groups say means they have gone to military camps or prison to undergo political education classes.
ICT confirmed that a re-education campaign was taking place at Kirti, and added that security forces had arrested and taken away more than 300 monks from the monastery on Thursday evening.
Many Tibetans resent Chinese rule, accusing the government of trying to dilute their culture and citing concern about what they view as increasing domination by China's majority Han ethnic group.
That tension erupted in violent demonstrations in March 2008 in Tibet's capital Lhasa, which then spread into neighbouring Tibetan areas of China, including Kirti.

The People's Bank of China (PBOC), the central bank, said Monday that it has signed a 25-billion-yuan ($3.83 billion) currency swap agreement with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.
The agreement will last for three years and is extendable by mutual consent, according to the statement posted on the PBOC website.
The swap is aimed at promoting bilateral trade, investment and financial cooperation, it said.

This "Charter" made in 1991 stipulates in Article 3: This Charter … assented to by the Dalai Lama shall come into force on the day appointed by the Dalai Lama, and the future Tibetan polity shall …through the dual system of government.

Article 19 stipulates that the executive power shall be vested in the Dalai Lama, and shall be exercised by Him, either directly or through officers subordinate to Him. Tibet before 1950 was a “backward society” and its institutions were imperfect.
No one ever said Tibet before 1950 was a paradise.
I don’t think any Tibetan, inside Tibet or outside, even in their wildest dreams, would want to restore the old system intact.

1. Tibet's culture is being systematically wiped out.
2. More than 1 million Tibetans have been murdered, killed and starved to death. There was no starvation in Tibet before 1949 because Tibetans knew what they were doing. Tibetans are still being tortured to death in 2009.
3. Tibet's environment has been getting a very hard time. Nuclear waste dumping for starters.

There is not need to make up lies about Tibet. Many people in civilised countries probably find it hard to believe the degree of OPPRESSION carried out by the chinese communist party in Tibet. Forced sterilisation without anaesthetic for instance and worse.
I find it the TRUTH about Tibet hard to believe myself at times because the TRUTH about is so terrible.
