The only reason we go to war is to make Halliburton money. If we make war a non profit organization there would be a hell of a lot less of it going on!!
Today is Jan 11,2010 and Matt interviewed this scum McCain again about a book that came out which says McCain didn't send anyone to Alaska to interview her husband or anyone there who knew her to vet her as a running mate. McCain said "he didn't care" if it hadn't been done.
Of course he wants to stay 100 years. How else are the evils like Cheney,KBR and Halliburton going to make their money if we pull out.Just more proof that McCain and Bush administration are same ideologies.
Iraq cost 10,000,000,000 a month. There are 100 million tax payers in the US. Thats $100 per person per month going to iraq. Meanwhile we are losing our houses, our health care.... WHEN YOU SAY COUNTRY FIRST, MCCAIN, WHICH COUNTRY DO YOU MEAN?
You all know that this moron is going to win. You all know that right? The moment we re-elected Bush, us Americans reached a whole new level of stupidity. Here's the thing about Republican politicians...they are out of touch with the world and the average American. McCain on the other hand is delusional and senile. He lives in a fantasy world and I guarantee you that he's going to get us in even deeper shit. I don't trust Obama either. But I sure as hell don't want McCain to win at all.
i wonder why senator mccain is so interested in victory in the middle east. he has said genocide is a likely possibility in iraq if american forces dissipate. so why is he so interested in that fact but not genocide in darfor, or anywhere else in the world for that matter... Got O.I.L.?
Thanks for confirming the military set ups around the world for the new world order, while your in korea go to north korea to free the human beings in concentration camps that are being starved to death and tortured to death. You would never do it because new world order is about to do the same to American citizens.I do not want a comment back there is nothing that will make me believe that any human beind needs to be murdered for oil, bring home our brothers and sisters!
I told u Europe is joining in, it is happening right now. I believe it. They are terrified of the possibility of Nuclear Iran, and are stopping trade with Iran
I feel as if it is 1939 and the world isnt waking up, but they are starting too. Iran is scaring Europe. france the US main opponent in the UN is starting to see that Iran isnt going to stop with its nuclear persuit, and are starting to make "war-like" motions, the entire EU has frozen Iran's banks, these are the startng motions for war.
Good. I never said Iran wasn't a threat. They can have nuclear power when they have proven themselves responsible. And even then it would need constant UN inspection. The US has been proven responsible with it in the past. I hate the fact that it was dropped. It sickens me. But in terms of numbers, it was the best thing to do at the time. What pisses me off about it, though, wasn't the people killed in the blast, but those who died painful deaths from radiation poisoning. But i'm off topic.
explosives and bullets for those who plan to kill us, that must be black, but where we get into shades of grey is we must also support their country and how do we build a nation. how do we make sure Iran doesnt blow up Israel, how do maintain our nation for the next 100 years, alot of these questions are in the minds of those in charge, each move that a president makes, should be planned with 5 generations in mind, like a chess game pieces moved throught the years
The grey comes from the actions employed by the military and by the mercinaries, which I smply do not approve of. The actions are mosty black in that sense in regards to actions taken during the actual fighting, and the white comes from what you say you want to do.
Ok so what are we supposed to do. You are the president of the united states of America, right now, what are u going to do? The organized conventional(generals on down, regular military u think of) military in iraq is pretty much on the side of America. The Unconventional organized military is usually the insurgents, who kill using terroristic means, IEDs. then U got Iran who is talking to the north about nuclear war with israel/US, and suppressing Civil war between the shitte/sunni
Use negotiations publicly to improve the US's image to the citizens who are joining the terrorist groups, make a genuine attempt at helping them after negotiations are through, retaliate in self defense, not using excessive force or going all out, as that only increases anger. Crush their spirit by removing reason to fight. Show sympathy. con't
If that fails, call a war following honest, moral, legal methods while keeping the lines of communication and negotiation open both to keep peace and save lives, and to get other countries to side with us. By doing that, you eliminate being the agressor, you appear respectable and caring, though stirn and definately not a push-over, gaining further allies. Since they are enemies of a strong nation, these improved foreign relationships will make other countries the enemies of the Iraqis.
With other countries siding with the US, we gain added leverage in the negotiations. Afterwards, a US military resence will remain in Iraq and other countries, though will only be figure heads and will be strictly regulated to keep any unnecessary outbreaks from happening. They will sign UN peace treaties and in time will learn to be peaceful without US and UN authority regulating them the whole way.
A president quite simply can't be setting up a strategy that far up ahead unless he sets the whole thing up within his time in office. It simply isn't reliable to think that each new president will follow you plan. Nor is it likely that Bush is any good at any kind of tactical thinking. There were much bigger threats than Iraq, which barely had any terrorist or military threat, and still barely has any. Aphganistant, Pakistan; much bigger terrorist threat. Deal with the big nd pick off the small
Afganistan was invaded and we are doing what u suggested below with pakistan, we are working with their govt. , Iran is the King and look at where iraq and Afganistan lie in corellation to Iran. Like a big Zit.
Troops are being diverted from Afganistan and are being focussed on Iraq, which is just plain stupid. GW at this point is ignoring issues and focussing on trying to prove a point and defending his own personal agenda.
In a game of chess, you don't focus all your energy on stopping a pawn that's trapped on one quare. You focus on the knight, bishop and the queen that's moving in on your left flank.
It doesnt really matter the cause they will always find a reason to hate us, to kill us. it is generations deep. their media supports their hate. the people have deep hate, and talking with them is like having a black person trying to negotiate with the KKK. it isnt gunna work.
No. U have valid points, though i believe some lie in naievity, i make no claims that i am not naive(in fact the older u get the more u realize u dont know shit) the core of your arguement is having the world community on our side. Yes. I agree, more support should be granted, but understand that just because the world doesnt hop on doesnt mean we are wrong, was britian wrong to not make peace terms the germans when the world wasnt there for them? i
No. Listen. I think this war was rushed and unnecessary for a threat that at the time was purely minimal, and I have a huge beef with the tactics employed, such as torturing. I get most of you guys are just defending yourselves. I don't blame you for shooting back.
Wars are fought for resources, and posisttion. resources; land, water, food, oil. I believe Iraq was invaded for oil (not a bad thing) but there were other issues, we dont want to attack Iran, not yet. the point is we want to get into a position to attack on all sides w/ a united front, The UN, Israel and US. it will happen.
I think Iraq was invaded for oil, too. But I'm disgusted by it. Invade to help people live, fine. It's sad, but has to be done. But invading for oil when you're in one of the richest countries in the world? No. That's just fucking greedy. You don't steal from the poor.
Good. Get in position. But save the attack as a last resort. Killing people should never be the first option.
u need to listen i dont think it was just about Oil. I think it is about posistion, we are in perfect posistion to build military bases, shoot missles, invade Iran. Iraq may be the pawn, but it put us in perfect posistion to take the queen Iran. USA is rich today, but tommorow? China, india are demanding more oil, and China is drilling in the gulf of mexico, but we cant go there, we have oil in alaska, we cant go there, enviromentalists are destroying this country.
It's rich today but sinking fast because of the war, and the military is being stretched thin. You're in no position to do anything with Iran until you conquer and control Iraq, and then take time to reorganize and rebuild your forces. And by that time you'll have few if any allies, and your economy will be down the tubes.
You know, that oil won't last long, anyway. Start switching to alternative energy sources, which can replace oil and are much better long-term.
ok how long will that take? we should be OFF forign oil, we stopped trade with Japan when were at war with them, so y r we still trading with these people who want to kill us? America has Oil, and while we use oil, try to get alternitive sources, nothing right now can replace oil.
Very little government funding goes into the alternative sources compared to the oil funding. The benefits from that oil will not be fully reached until 2030, and would do very little to impact gas prices. I support offshore drilling partially, since it would help remove dependance on foreign oil, but that doesn't diminish in the least the need to develop alternative energy.
I am Completely for it, the fact is if we started now 10 YEARs from now we will recieve oil, if clinton had started it 10 years ago we would be recieving gas now. we have to start sometime dont we?
Well naturally I'm much more for alternative energy, which can have long term benefits without environmental damage than I am for more oil, which is a short-term benefit with possible long-term draw backs and long term environmental damages.
But what the Bush Administration is ordering is ridiculous. It's so vague who they permit to be killed. "Al-Qaeda, and other extremists", with extremists undefined. The mercinaries hired are most quilty of just killing anyone who does little more than stand up to them. And then you've got the fact that the Bush Admin barely seems to care about their own troops. Contaminated water, substandard and/or old gear, wasteful management, shitty facilities and healthcare.
I know. If you joined the military to be pampered you'd either be dying of poverty or the biggest idiot ever. But you're supposed to take care of your soldiers. Instead the get contaminated, disease-ridden water. The get shitty, mouldy tents that make them sick. The get gear from the Vietnam era. They get helmets made from companies who have been making them with less kevlar to save money (same company recently got a new contract with the military). Con't.
The get bad medicine. Their facilities, like Fort Bragg, has leaks, mold, broken floors and ceilings, are cold, dark, poor wiring. These are all basic nessecities for keeping healthy soldiers. The GOP also refused a 0.5% pay increase for military soldiers.
With rising prices, one would think soldiers would need a bit more money to survive.
Actually repairs on Fort Bragg were denied by the GOP. The companies that were giving you those crappy tents, contaminated water, substandard and cut back equiptment and armor, they got their contracts reneud and nothing was done to fix the problem by the government.
umm i think u are given wrong info. 250 million dollars are being sent to fix fort brag and what company? i dont think u have ur facts right, the GOP is not in charge of congress, it is the minority party within. So... yeah.
Poor helmets were provided by Sioux Manufacturing. They were given a $74 million contract to replace the defective helmets they made on purpose. It's essentially rewarding them for putting money before lives of the troops.
Halliburton gave you bad water, bad tents, and destroys their resources, writes it up as a loss and asks the US for more money to replace it.
The Democrats are pussies with no back bone and follow the swing of the GOP.
and bucko we give ALOT of money to Iraq, ALOT! what do u think the plan is? we are REBUILDING iraq RIGHT NOW! training their military their police force their government, their economy, we dont have an instant democracy mix where u just add water, it takes time, money, blood, and trust trust that we wont leave them vunerable to attacks by outside forces by leaving them in their time of need.
Well how about this, The americans are the good guys, and we are over there, and the insurgents are the bad guys and they kill americans and iraqi citizens cause they get to go see allah due to their fatwa and jihad against americans, and sunni/shitte (depending which group) thats the war thats the situation
Oh ok cause they work for us we are training them right now, there isnt an organized conventional military we are fighting. they are people dressed like civilians who leave bombs on the street, blow up cars, blow themselves up or just start spraying the street with 7.62 rounds
I'm done. You believe in your cause. Great. I hope that you at least maintain some honor which too many American soldiers failed to do. We want the same thing but believe in different means. Can we at least agree on that?
ok 160,000 soilders are in iraq, bigger than most cities in canada, are u telling me in a city of equvalant size u arent gunna have a few psychos who break the law? American soilders FOR THE MOST PART SERVE WITH HONOR not SOME HONOR. Go fuck yourself. you sicken me.
Based on the actions reported, I don't consider that the case. And I didn't mean my comment as an insult, and I'm sorry you took it that way. But I do not believe in the means that's been reported. If I sicken you, fine. I generally don't approve of your methods, but I can't say you sicken me.
ur an asshole if u compare how they treat them and how they treat us, its like we are sending them to the ritz carlton to get massages and blowjobs. I condone torture, not breaking of arms or anything like that, thats when we send them over to the egyptians for, but u know water torture, whatever thats fine with me.
You condone torture? How terrible. They're locked away. They pose no threat. Why torture them? Hmm? It can't be to gether information, since torture sucks at that. It's just an eye for an eye, isn't it? You want them to be hurt. Do that and how much better are you than them? Yes, what they do is terrible. The torture that they do is more intense than yours. But it's still torture. You can't treat a human life that is no longer a threat like that just becaus you're weak and makes you feel better.
OR they are going into iraq. al queda is Sunni, and there are also Shitte militias in which we are mostly fighting, the sunni al queda is also fightig the shittes. so there is a reason for the growth. the fact of the matter is, RIGHT or WRONG America is still in Iraq, and if we leave i think it will be more dangerous for the western world, more dangerous for the middle east, and nothing but misery, death will come out of such an action.
But your presence and actions there has created more terrorists than you've killed. It's a threat. They think they have reason, and that reason is reinforced by the fact that you struck them first.
If we get into negotiotions w/ terrorist do you think they are going to act any different with us then with Israel? where we give consessions in the hope for peace and then they use consessions to kill us? Negotiations with terrorists is a mistake. the only good terrorist is a dead one. U arent going to change my mind. I have seen war, see IEDs blow up and u know what, these people dont want to talk, they want us dead. End of Statement.
I simply cannot regard human life in such a way. You said the surge is working, right? Violence is going down. They're being crippled on a military scale. Before they can attack, they'd have to regroup. You've got time. You've got 'em by the ears.
Tell me, have you ever tried talking to them, either? No. You want them dead, as well. On the battle feild, soldiers tend to act the same way. It's the urge to survive and not accept defeat.
thank you for talking as if u know what its like. dr. who do we talk to again? Osama? hey Osama we want you to come to the table and talk with us... we need to discuss peace agreements.
ok well lets get into bush's shoes here, Iraq has WMD's, and here is how u know, A) we gave him a bunch to fight Iran during their war B) england, Russia, Israel, france germany all said he had them, C) he wasnt allowing UN to search, so... by conclusion he had em!!! then u know he hates US and Israel (he attacked israel with missles during desert storm) and he has terrorist training camps, what if america was hit w/ a WMD? would u scream he KNEW HE KNEW AND HE DID NOTHING? damned if he do/dont
a) Evidence that they still had them? Evidence that they posed a threat? Evidence that them keeping a gift from you is illegal?
b)Check what Ridder said in June of 1999. Iraq had no means to produce any WMDs. a 2002 report showed that as of 1998, there was a 90-90% chance that all of Iraq's military capabilities for nuclear, bio, etc, were destroyed.
c) That's a mistake on his part, but not conclusive in the least that he had them.
If America was hit, I would mourn and then you could retaliate. Starting a war on incomplete intelligence that the US could not sustain, nor did it have the means to continue such a large scale war, is stupid. Because of the poor intelligence, no country wanted to join in.
So what ur saying is pullout and wait to be attacked... then go back in? sounds like more death then need be. we are already in, thats the hard part, the surge is working i know these are concepts that are hard for u to understand but Iraq is working right now. No country like england? oh yeah. that country. Europe will join, muslims are starting shit with them too.
A mutual cease fire for negotiations seems like a better first step than a all-out pull of forces.
The surge has killed hundreds of thousands of people, and is causing more terrorists in other parts of the world. Such a war on the large scale is a greater harm to America. At least an attempt at negotiations will calm a few of them down and lessen the motivation of a few others.
Muslims? Yeah. I guess it's they're Muslims, it must be Iraq! Because no other middle-eastern countries can.
Appeasment will not save us! Look at history, you cannot appease people who wish to conquer and wish to kill you are talking about Appeasement, not diplomacy, look the word up.
Very noble and very Naive. do you know how to negotiate? because leverage is needed in negotitaions and pulling out is psychotic. u need to understand that we dont live in a candyland where everyone holds hands and sings kumbahya. ok?
find out what fatwa and jihad means, ok sama. and understand that they have called it on the western world (Canada is included) this is a religous war to these medeval psychos, and that we cannot stop them by talking to them, the Qu'ran allows muslims to lie to infidels and enemies, so if it is a religous war and they are going to lie and then murder us, then what can we do? stand by and take it in the ass until nothing is left? No way, i prefer a 5.56 nato round in their head, dead men dont kill
Jihad is a holy war. Fatwa is the opinion on Islamic law issued by an Islamic scholar.
Show you aren't enemies. You can't drop your guard, but who's to say you can't talk? People have negotiated with them in the past. They hate the West for a reason. Show them they don't have a reason.
Dead men also can't bring peace. I think in some circumstances violence is necessary. There isn't enough to convince me that violence is necessary when you go after a country that didn't attack you.
Be glad you live in Canada, boy, you enjoy the benefits of being a neighbor of a noble, country, that will protect your country if anything godforbid happens to it.
giving the Iraqi people the right to vote isnt noble? we arent raping them of resources, havent recieved one barrel from iraq yet. Who do negotiate with? we are training Iraqis to defend themselves and the Iranians are training people to come in and blow up Americans and Iraqis, who do we negotiate with? if we leave who will fill the void? u think iran is going to stand back? going to help iraq? no way! MASS MURDER will happen, u think there is death and destruction now just u wait.
Giving them the right to vote against the right to live?
Negotiate with leaders. Duh.
Mass murder will happen? Any different the the equivilant of the 9/11 you're commiting there every week?1 Why not stand by and help them rebuild instead of shooting first and cleaning up the remains?
ok my friend you are very ignorant, there is no "mass murder" and u have insulted my countrymen as well as my fellow soilders by saying so.
WHAT LEADERS? PULL OUT OF IRAQ AND NEGOTIATE WITH WHO?? WHAT LEVERAGE WILL WE HAVE? will we say we are really sorry about Iraq but could u please stop attacking us? u dont know shit!
The fact that a vast majority of the people killed there are Iraq citizens leads me to believe it's the equivilant of a mass murder.
Military generals, lieutenants, etc.
What leverage will you have? Let's see... You've got the biggest military in the world with nuclear capabilities and the highest gun to person ratio in the entire planet!
God bless america. But why go to the trouble in re-re invading when we could just stay, because they WILL attack again. U need to understand Islamo-facists want to kill us and they are not tied to borders of countries, they are acting subversivly to destroy us because if they acted like a country, we would destroy them, so it is smarter for them to hide, then attack. It isnt like ww2 facist nazi germany, it is like a gang with bombs supported by nations covertly.
Because if you try to talk, you may gain an understanding and peaceful relations, or at least common ground. If they do however chose to attack after you made a genuine attempt to talk things out and offered your hand in helping them, then you'll be justified in attacking again. America's image would drastically improve and foreign policy would be better. You'll have more and more countries willing to fight with you, or at least not object.
If we talk? again who should we talk to, give me names and who are they leaders of? i think it is just a naive attempt to prove that people will listen if we just talk and give them a helping hamd, hrmm what does that mean? helping hand? fuck that we are at war, they are at war, no helping hands, because they will chop our hand off if we offer them it. Look at middle eastern history over the past century! yay!
Don't try to tell me you can't talk to military generals, lieutenants, colonels, etc. They exist. They can talk. I don't know tehir names, but I don't suppose you know the names of the men you've killed on the battle feild.
There's no helping hands in wars? My mistake. I guess giving countries money to rebuild never happens, huh? Like when you ordered Germany to sign that horrible Treaty at the end of WW1. You said it was to help back then.
UMM WE ARE HELPING IRAQ REBUILD? hello?? Schools exist, electricity exists, parks, markets, people still have lives and businesses,
it isnt like people are inside hiding from hut to hut terrified that american soilders will burst in and kill them. oh wait there are people that are like that, but usually they are insurgents.
The schools suck, lives are in contsnat danger, areas are contsnatly being bombed. Those accomplishments are good, but they're for nothing more than to save face. If you put in half the energy you put into the military into improving their living conditions things would be much better.
No, that's not what you do. Honestly, you were willing to nagotiate with the Soviets, Germany, the Confederates, but not a small desert nation that poses little if any military threat?
We are committed to fighting this war, and any sign of weakness then we are as Osama says we are, a paper tiger, looking scary but easily burned. Do not surrender and run away. We must defeat these SoB's
the question u have to ask and really think about is will america become safer after a withdrawel? i dont think so, i think it would be the best day in the world for these islamo facists, they will be looked at as victors when we are crushing them in Iraq. I have been in iraq twice just getting back 2 months ago and going back in 10 months, it has changed with the surge. we r training more and more Iraqi troops, who are doing more and more of the fighting, It is neccessary to stay in Iraq
Will America be safer? Very possibly. The terrorists are angry because of what America does. Move out and negotiate. Their cause will not have the kind of backing it currently has if you do so. Show you aren't afraid to fight, but also show you aren't teh gun-toating rednecks the world believes you to be. The war is creating more terrorists, who either join out of gained hatred for the US because of the war, or to defend their own families.
There is no negotiating RESEARCH FATWA AND JIHAD! they want us dead! end of statement, they arent some western nation u can talk to, they are people that believe in the end of the world where either ur muslim or you are dead. and not just any muslim Their kind of muslim. I believe we are crushing Al Queda and all the reports suggest that. we are making it hard for them to operate in where they operate. we have raided and killed and arrested countless members of al queda.
Why can't you talk to them? YOu haven't tried! A jihad is a holy war to eliminate oppressors of Islam. Show them you don't mean harm and try talking, while still keeping a guard raised, and you'll strengthen your bond with them. If it fails, you'll have more foreign nations willing to support your war!
Stoping al queda? You mean al queda that isn't in Iraq? That al queda?
The al queda presence in Iraq PRIOR to the invasion was only a few members, all of low ranking. Now it's roughly 1-3% of their forces, which while still small, is MUCH greater than previously. You're creating enemies.
Umm what about 17 reslolutions? where he kicked UN inspectors out or did not allow them to search his palaces. Saddam was a threat and had ties to terrorism and WMD's. He had WMD's and we know he did, russia, england, israel, saudi arabia said Hussian had these weapons. We also know cause we gave WMD's 2 him to fight Iran. We found terrorist training camps in his country. We gave him 8 months to hand them over, 8 months and then we invaded. do you think he would listen to the 18th resolution?
When is the media going to call McCave on this comparison to Korea, Japan and Germany? Noone believes the situation in Iraq will calm to the levels of these defeated countries w/ US presence. The comparison doesn't hold up under any scrutiny.
He's absolutely right. When we withdraw is not as important as the success of the mission. The only thing he's guilty of is poor wording. He should have said, "That's important, but what's more important is . . ."
When someone enlists in the army, they are doing this on their own accord. They know that they can be stationed anywhere in the world for any period of time. This is why McCain isn't concerned with bringing them home. This is what the army does, they go places and stay their for periods of time. What he is concerned with is bringing down casualties. In this way, it wouldn't make a difference if these troops were in Iraq, Korea, Cuba, or wherever.
"They know that they can be stationed anywhere in the world for any period of time. This is why McCain isn't concerned with bringing them home."
You should be ashamed on yourself. They joined the army. Therfore, they must fight in the war. But joining the army should not be the same as signing away your life for a causeless war! Lives are lives, whether enlisted or not.
Well im glad you can detirmine at 17 what war is and what it means to be a hero, you have the whole world figured out. WAR is hell and people want to kill you, plain and simple.
I have been to iraq for 2 tours, and I enlisted to defend my country from those who wish to do us harm. I am not a hero, I know heroes, and i am proud to serve with them, though some are dead. I have and will continue to serve my country. Boy, u better get wise that the world isnt black and white.
A hero is someone who risks something precious to them for a worthy cause.
I know war is hell. Never having been in one, and hopefully never will, I can't say I understand what that hell is. But I know it's hell.
They want to harm you? I'm sorry, but what harm has Iraq done to ths US recently that caused this war? 9/11?? No. Wait. That was Saudi Arabi, that Bush wouldn't attack because they're rich and were nice to his daddy. WMDs? No. Wait. Those were fake, too. Info gathered from torture.
I country is just land. Nothing more. You don't have to defend a country just because you happen to live in it. If you have to fight, fight for a cause. The country's name comes second, if even that.
Diplomacy without a big stick is just talk, there is nothing holding Hussain to his word, i.e. 17 resolutions, saying if U do not let us disarm you we will invade you. well he didnt let us, 17 times. we are not at war with all muslims we are at war with the 5 percent that i would like to call Islamo-facists, because they r a group of people who will not tolerate our way of life and want to destroy us because of it. REMEMBER SEPT. 11! these terrorist groups have called war on us, what can we do?
Interesting you mentioned September 11. I do remember. I also remember that there was no tie between 9/11 and Iraq. It was Saudi Arabia! The Iraqis were not involved in that.
But u must understand that saddam had ties to terrorist organizations, and had WMD's but we talked for 8 months and do u think saddam was such a dummass he kept the wmds? i dont think so.
I fight to protect my family and my friends, and because it is my duty. I live in the best country in the world, it isnt just a name, it is freedom, i can choose to do what i like in a civil manner, and i will not be persucuted because of my beliefes, i will not be killed because of my race, I am protected, and i am proud to be an American, i understand your posistion and i respect it.these people want us dead, and my cause is to kill them before they kill me or my family.
Regarding the 100 year comment: Unlike Obama, McCain has military experience. He knows that it is unrealistic to pull troops out as soon as people want. Take Korea for example; The United States STILL has troops their since the 50s. Looks like he's not too far off when he says 100 years.
You're not being called a hero for the same reasons The MOnster isn't being called a hero.
1. We didn't get shot down
2. Didn't get captured
3. Didn't suffer years of torture
4. Didn't have to risk escape
Grow-up turd. Type in Bud Day on YTube and you can listen to what the most decorated man in military history (has the Medal of Honor as well) has to say about being roomates in the Hilton with McCain.
Most reasonable people honor McCain's service to the country. But serving doesn't automatically give you a free pass. Duke Cunningham was nominated for the Medal of Honor, I believe. I would agree that better him than a bunch of chickenhawks like GW, Chenney, Ashcroft, Gingrich, Rove,Wolfowitz, Feith etc.
I wouldn't call you a hero since I have no idea what your accomplishments during Desert Storm was, but McCain sure in hell is no hero. I respect his service in the military and his determination and refusal to break under torture, but the man is in no way a hero. If I was able of voting (is only 17, and lives in Canada), I'd vote for Obama, hands down. We don't need a third term of Bush.
What the hell is wrong is wrong with you. Even Obama knows that this man is an American war hero, Obama said it. John McCain's father was a very celebrated American war General. The Vietnamese knew that. When they captured the group that John McCain was in, they noticed him and decided that they we're going to let him go. They did that because, since know one knew the rest we're, if they let John McCain go, they would be getting "point" for being so "nice" to the Americans.
when they told John McCain he was going to be let go, he said "No, I am not going to leave this building until you let every single one of my friends and fellow troops out with me." The reason he wanted to stay was because he knew they were going to kill all of his fellow troops as soon as he left. He stayed with his friends and was then tortured. John McCain is a true American war hero. You wouldn't understand what a war HERO is because you're from Canada.
I didn't know McCain did that. All I knew was that he was shot down, captured and tortured. I didn't know he put himself through so much extra pain to save the lives of his comrades. Now that I know this, I will call him a war hero. I wouldn't ever vote for him, but he's a war hero.
I don't see why you have to insult my country. That was totally uncalled for. But for the record, the Red Barron was shot down by a Canadian fighter pilot.
Even Some Republicans Cant Believe He Said What He Said.
Well There Ya Go For Choosing McBush... He Went From Keeping Them ONLY 100 Years In Iraq To Now Saying They Will Be There Forever Cause Is "Not Too Important" For Them To See Their Families Again.
Mom, Dad, Grandparents, Wife, Kids, Cousins, Friends... If You Are Deployed Forget About Ever Seeing Or Hearing From Them Again.
Go to naral org. Check the facts on where these candidates stand on women rights. Its been five years since the U.S invaded iraq, al qeda is stronger than ever! We are NOT safer. Look at our borders. bin laden is still alive and well, all while the saudis are living off our blood and sweat as we pay record high gas prices.
Unbelievable. How can he possibly advocate for an endless continuation of the Iraq War while not proposing ANY tax increases. He's just making the money up like George W. Bush. If you're for the war then you should be for more taxes. If not, too bad, we cant keep making money up. Its the reason gas prices are up. Our dollar drops because of our huge debt - the price of oil is based on our dollar - oil prices here in the US go up. Sure its more complicated, but you cant deny that relationship.
68 percent of Americans oppose the warand 62 percent believe the next president should "try to end the Iraq war within the next year or two, no matter what."

I told u Europe is joining in, it is happening right now. I believe it. They are terrified of the possibility of Nuclear Iran, and are stopping trade with Iran
Afriend2you 3 years ago
I feel as if it is 1939 and the world isnt waking up, but they are starting too. Iran is scaring Europe. france the US main opponent in the UN is starting to see that Iran isnt going to stop with its nuclear persuit, and are starting to make "war-like" motions, the entire EU has frozen Iran's banks, these are the startng motions for war.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
explosives and bullets for those who plan to kill us, that must be black, but where we get into shades of grey is we must also support their country and how do we build a nation. how do we make sure Iran doesnt blow up Israel, how do maintain our nation for the next 100 years, alot of these questions are in the minds of those in charge, each move that a president makes, should be planned with 5 generations in mind, like a chess game pieces moved throught the years
Afriend2you 3 years ago
The grey comes from the actions employed by the military and by the mercinaries, which I smply do not approve of. The actions are mosty black in that sense in regards to actions taken during the actual fighting, and the white comes from what you say you want to do.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Ok so what are we supposed to do. You are the president of the united states of America, right now, what are u going to do? The organized conventional(generals on down, regular military u think of) military in iraq is pretty much on the side of America. The Unconventional organized military is usually the insurgents, who kill using terroristic means, IEDs. then U got Iran who is talking to the north about nuclear war with israel/US, and suppressing Civil war between the shitte/sunni
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Use negotiations publicly to improve the US's image to the citizens who are joining the terrorist groups, make a genuine attempt at helping them after negotiations are through, retaliate in self defense, not using excessive force or going all out, as that only increases anger. Crush their spirit by removing reason to fight. Show sympathy. con't
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Part 2
If that fails, call a war following honest, moral, legal methods while keeping the lines of communication and negotiation open both to keep peace and save lives, and to get other countries to side with us. By doing that, you eliminate being the agressor, you appear respectable and caring, though stirn and definately not a push-over, gaining further allies. Since they are enemies of a strong nation, these improved foreign relationships will make other countries the enemies of the Iraqis.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
part 3
With other countries siding with the US, we gain added leverage in the negotiations. Afterwards, a US military resence will remain in Iraq and other countries, though will only be figure heads and will be strictly regulated to keep any unnecessary outbreaks from happening. They will sign UN peace treaties and in time will learn to be peaceful without US and UN authority regulating them the whole way.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
A president quite simply can't be setting up a strategy that far up ahead unless he sets the whole thing up within his time in office. It simply isn't reliable to think that each new president will follow you plan. Nor is it likely that Bush is any good at any kind of tactical thinking. There were much bigger threats than Iraq, which barely had any terrorist or military threat, and still barely has any. Aphganistant, Pakistan; much bigger terrorist threat. Deal with the big nd pick off the small
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Afganistan was invaded and we are doing what u suggested below with pakistan, we are working with their govt. , Iran is the King and look at where iraq and Afganistan lie in corellation to Iran. Like a big Zit.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Troops are being diverted from Afganistan and are being focussed on Iraq, which is just plain stupid. GW at this point is ignoring issues and focussing on trying to prove a point and defending his own personal agenda.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
In a game of chess, you don't focus all your energy on stopping a pawn that's trapped on one quare. You focus on the knight, bishop and the queen that's moving in on your left flank.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
What do you do?
Afriend2you 3 years ago
It doesnt really matter the cause they will always find a reason to hate us, to kill us. it is generations deep. their media supports their hate. the people have deep hate, and talking with them is like having a black person trying to negotiate with the KKK. it isnt gunna work.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
You can try sending in an Arab or Muslim to negotiate as a representative. It won't be the first time a country has employed that tactic.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
and by the way that is often how we communicate on the ground, with translators through the iraqi army.

BalmungSama0 3 years ago
No. U have valid points, though i believe some lie in naievity, i make no claims that i am not naive(in fact the older u get the more u realize u dont know shit) the core of your arguement is having the world community on our side. Yes. I agree, more support should be granted, but understand that just because the world doesnt hop on doesnt mean we are wrong, was britian wrong to not make peace terms the germans when the world wasnt there for them? i
Afriend2you 3 years ago
No. Listen. I think this war was rushed and unnecessary for a threat that at the time was purely minimal, and I have a huge beef with the tactics employed, such as torturing. I get most of you guys are just defending yourselves. I don't blame you for shooting back.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Wars are fought for resources, and posisttion. resources; land, water, food, oil. I believe Iraq was invaded for oil (not a bad thing) but there were other issues, we dont want to attack Iran, not yet. the point is we want to get into a position to attack on all sides w/ a united front, The UN, Israel and US. it will happen.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
I think Iraq was invaded for oil, too. But I'm disgusted by it. Invade to help people live, fine. It's sad, but has to be done. But invading for oil when you're in one of the richest countries in the world? No. That's just fucking greedy. You don't steal from the poor.
Good. Get in position. But save the attack as a last resort. Killing people should never be the first option.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
u need to listen i dont think it was just about Oil.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
It's rich today but sinking fast because of the war, and the military is being stretched thin. You're in no position to do anything with Iran until you conquer and control Iraq, and then take time to reorganize and rebuild your forces. And by that time you'll have few if any allies, and your economy will be down the tubes.
You know, that oil won't last long, anyway. Start switching to alternative energy sources, which can replace oil and are much better long-term.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
ok how long will that take? we should be OFF forign oil, we stopped trade with Japan when were at war with them, so y r we still trading with these people who want to kill us? America has Oil, and while we use oil, try to get alternitive sources, nothing right now can replace oil.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Very little government funding goes into the alternative sources compared to the oil funding. The benefits from that oil will not be fully reached until 2030, and would do very little to impact gas prices. I support offshore drilling partially, since it would help remove dependance on foreign oil, but that doesn't diminish in the least the need to develop alternative energy.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
I am Completely for it, the fact is if we started now 10 YEARs from now we will recieve oil, if clinton had started it 10 years ago we would be recieving gas now. we have to start sometime dont we?
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Completely for what? Off shore drilling or war for oil? I can't see which comment you're replying to.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
I am for total independence of energy.
withdraw from the slave like dependence on OPEC and get it ourselves, it may take years, but it will be worth it.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Well naturally I'm much more for alternative energy, which can have long term benefits without environmental damage than I am for more oil, which is a short-term benefit with possible long-term draw backs and long term environmental damages.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
But what the Bush Administration is ordering is ridiculous. It's so vague who they permit to be killed. "Al-Qaeda, and other extremists", with extremists undefined. The mercinaries hired are most quilty of just killing anyone who does little more than stand up to them. And then you've got the fact that the Bush Admin barely seems to care about their own troops. Contaminated water, substandard and/or old gear, wasteful management, shitty facilities and healthcare.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
"Support our troops. But don't actually help them. Just give 'em a gun and put this magnet up on your hummer."
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
I didnt join the military to be pampered i joined it to do my job.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Con't.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Part 2
The get bad medicine. Their facilities, like Fort Bragg, has leaks, mold, broken floors and ceilings, are cold, dark, poor wiring. These are all basic nessecities for keeping healthy soldiers. The GOP also refused a 0.5% pay increase for military soldiers.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Nor did i join to get rich. things get old and they are being fixed, anyway this is off topic.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
With rising prices, one would think soldiers would need a bit more money to survive.
Actually repairs on Fort Bragg were denied by the GOP. The companies that were giving you those crappy tents, contaminated water, substandard and cut back equiptment and armor, they got their contracts reneud and nothing was done to fix the problem by the government.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
umm i think u are given wrong info. 250 million dollars are being sent to fix fort brag and what company? i dont think u have ur facts right, the GOP is not in charge of congress, it is the minority party within. So... yeah.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Poor helmets were provided by Sioux Manufacturing. They were given a $74 million contract to replace the defective helmets they made on purpose. It's essentially rewarding them for putting money before lives of the troops.
Halliburton gave you bad water, bad tents, and destroys their resources, writes it up as a loss and asks the US for more money to replace it.
The Democrats are pussies with no back bone and follow the swing of the GOP.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Thank you! We need more powerful third-parties. Search for "instant runoff voting", it would help

BUT mostly because we support Israel. they see it that Israel is the little devil and the US is the big devil. plain and simple thats why.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
and bucko we give ALOT of money to Iraq, ALOT! what do u think the plan is? we are REBUILDING iraq RIGHT NOW! training their military their police force their government, their economy, we dont have an instant democracy mix where u just add water, it takes time, money, blood, and trust trust that we wont leave them vunerable to attacks by outside forces by leaving them in their time of need.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Great. Good job. I'd be more inclined to approve of your means when the masacre subsides.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Well how about this, The americans are the good guys, and we are over there, and the insurgents are the bad guys and they kill americans and iraqi citizens cause they get to go see allah due to their fatwa and jihad against americans, and sunni/shitte (depending which group) thats the war thats the situation

Afriend2you 3 years ago
"the military leaders of what country?"
Iraq? I thought it was very obvious which country.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Oh ok cause they work for us we are training them right now, there isnt an organized conventional military we are fighting. they are people dressed like civilians who leave bombs on the street, blow up cars, blow themselves up or just start spraying the street with 7.62 rounds
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Terrible actions by them, but you went in first. You've created terrorists.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
I'm done. You believe in your cause. Great. I hope that you at least maintain some honor which too many American soldiers failed to do. We want the same thing but believe in different means. Can we at least agree on that?
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
ok 160,000 soilders are in iraq, bigger than most cities in canada, are u telling me in a city of equvalant size u arent gunna have a few psychos who break the law? American soilders FOR THE MOST PART SERVE WITH HONOR not SOME HONOR. Go fuck yourself. you sicken me.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Based on the actions reported, I don't consider that the case. And I didn't mean my comment as an insult, and I'm sorry you took it that way. But I do not believe in the means that's been reported. If I sicken you, fine. I generally don't approve of your methods, but I can't say you sicken me.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
ur an asshole if u compare how they treat them and how they treat us, its like we are sending them to the ritz carlton to get massages and blowjobs. I condone torture, not breaking of arms or anything like that, thats when we send them over to the egyptians for, but u know water torture, whatever thats fine with me.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
You condone torture? How terrible. They're locked away. They pose no threat. Why torture them? Hmm? It can't be to gether information, since torture sucks at that. It's just an eye for an eye, isn't it? You want them to be hurt. Do that and how much better are you than them? Yes, what they do is terrible. The torture that they do is more intense than yours. But it's still torture. You can't treat a human life that is no longer a threat like that just becaus you're weak and makes you feel better.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
I also think that it is dangerous to appease people who wish destruction upon u. plain and simple.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
OR they are going into iraq. al queda is Sunni, and there are also Shitte militias in which we are mostly fighting, the sunni al queda is also fightig the shittes. so there is a reason for the growth. the fact of the matter is, RIGHT or WRONG America is still in Iraq, and if we leave i think it will be more dangerous for the western world, more dangerous for the middle east, and nothing but misery, death will come out of such an action.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
But your presence and actions there has created more terrorists than you've killed. It's a threat. They think they have reason, and that reason is reinforced by the fact that you struck them first.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
you havent been to the middle east have u? religon is a bigger part then their national race.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
If we get into negotiotions w/ terrorist do you think they are going to act any different with us then with Israel? where we give consessions in the hope for peace and then they use consessions to kill us? Negotiations with terrorists is a mistake. the only good terrorist is a dead one. U arent going to change my mind. I have seen war, see IEDs blow up and u know what, these people dont want to talk, they want us dead. End of Statement.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Maybe. If not, then fight.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
thank you for talking as if u know what its like. dr. who do we talk to again? Osama? hey Osama we want you to come to the table and talk with us... we need to discuss peace agreements.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Military leaders. They have a military. Talk to them.
No I have not been, and I don't wish to.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
you see america for the most part is forced to fight conventionally against and unconventional force. Iraq is one battle in the entire war.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
I wouldn't call it fighting conventionally with how they've been treating prisoners of war and enemy combatants.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Most of the Iraqis killed are being killed by the islamo facists. Not us.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
WHAT FUCKING LEADERS ARE U TALKING ABOUT?
iraqi leaders? Iranian leaders?
"The leaders, duh" well the leaders of what?
Afriend2you 3 years ago
ok well lets get into bush's shoes here, Iraq has WMD's, and here is how u know, A) we gave him a bunch to fight Iran during their war B) england, Russia, Israel, france germany all said he had them, C) he wasnt allowing UN to search, so... by conclusion he had em!!! then u know he hates US and Israel (he attacked israel with missles during desert storm) and he has terrorist training camps, what if america was hit w/ a WMD? would u scream he KNEW HE KNEW AND HE DID NOTHING? damned if he do/dont
Afriend2you 3 years ago
a) Evidence that they still had them? Evidence that they posed a threat? Evidence that them keeping a gift from you is illegal?
b)Check what Ridder said in June of 1999. Iraq had no means to produce any WMDs. a 2002 report showed that as of 1998, there was a 90-90% chance that all of Iraq's military capabilities for nuclear, bio, etc, were destroyed.
c) That's a mistake on his part, but not conclusive in the least that he had them.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
If America was hit, I would mourn and then you could retaliate. Starting a war on incomplete intelligence that the US could not sustain, nor did it have the means to continue such a large scale war, is stupid. Because of the poor intelligence, no country wanted to join in.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
So what ur saying is pullout and wait to be attacked... then go back in? sounds like more death then need be. we are already in, thats the hard part, the surge is working i know these are concepts that are hard for u to understand but Iraq is working right now. No country like england? oh yeah. that country. Europe will join, muslims are starting shit with them too.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
A mutual cease fire for negotiations seems like a better first step than a all-out pull of forces.
The surge has killed hundreds of thousands of people, and is causing more terrorists in other parts of the world. Such a war on the large scale is a greater harm to America. At least an attempt at negotiations will calm a few of them down and lessen the motivation of a few others.
Muslims? Yeah. I guess it's they're Muslims, it must be Iraq! Because no other middle-eastern countries can.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Appeasment will not save us! Look at history, you cannot appease people who wish to conquer and wish to kill you are talking about Appeasement, not diplomacy, look the word up.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
No. I want to negotiate and work towards a common goal that hopefully won't have to end with someon'e head being blown up.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Very noble and very Naive. do you know how to negotiate? because leverage is needed in negotitaions and pulling out is psychotic. u need to understand that we dont live in a candyland where everyone holds hands and sings kumbahya. ok?
Afriend2you 3 years ago
find out what fatwa and jihad means, ok sama. and understand that they have called it on the western world (Canada is included) this is a religous war to these medeval psychos, and that we cannot stop them by talking to them, the Qu'ran allows muslims to lie to infidels and enemies, so if it is a religous war and they are going to lie and then murder us, then what can we do? stand by and take it in the ass until nothing is left? No way, i prefer a 5.56 nato round in their head, dead men dont kill
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Jihad is a holy war. Fatwa is the opinion on Islamic law issued by an Islamic scholar.
Show you aren't enemies. You can't drop your guard, but who's to say you can't talk? People have negotiated with them in the past. They hate the West for a reason. Show them they don't have a reason.
Dead men also can't bring peace. I think in some circumstances violence is necessary. There isn't enough to convince me that violence is necessary when you go after a country that didn't attack you.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Be glad you live in Canada, boy, you enjoy the benefits of being a neighbor of a noble, country, that will protect your country if anything godforbid happens to it.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
I thank the US for your protection, but your actions currently are by no sense of the word, "noble".
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
giving the Iraqi people the right to vote isnt noble? we arent raping them of resources, havent recieved one barrel from iraq yet.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Giving them the right to vote against the right to live?
Negotiate with leaders. Duh.
Mass murder will happen? Any different the the equivilant of the 9/11 you're commiting there every week?1 Why not stand by and help them rebuild instead of shooting first and cleaning up the remains?
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
ok my friend you are very ignorant, there is no "mass murder" and u have insulted my countrymen as well as my fellow soilders by saying so.
WHAT LEADERS? PULL OUT OF IRAQ AND NEGOTIATE WITH WHO?? WHAT LEVERAGE WILL WE HAVE? will we say we are really sorry about Iraq but could u please stop attacking us? u dont know shit!
Afriend2you 3 years ago
The fact that a vast majority of the people killed there are Iraq citizens leads me to believe it's the equivilant of a mass murder.
Military generals, lieutenants, etc.
What leverage will you have? Let's see... You've got the biggest military in the world with nuclear capabilities and the highest gun to person ratio in the entire planet!
BalmungSama0 3 years ago

BalmungSama0 3 years ago
If we talk? again who should we talk to, give me names and who are they leaders of? i think it is just a naive attempt to prove that people will listen if we just talk and give them a helping hamd, hrmm what does that mean? helping hand? fuck that we are at war, they are at war, no helping hands, because they will chop our hand off if we offer them it. Look at middle eastern history over the past century! yay!
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Don't try to tell me you can't talk to military generals, lieutenants, colonels, etc. They exist. They can talk. I don't know tehir names, but I don't suppose you know the names of the men you've killed on the battle feild.
There's no helping hands in wars? My mistake. I guess giving countries money to rebuild never happens, huh? Like when you ordered Germany to sign that horrible Treaty at the end of WW1. You said it was to help back then.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
UMM WE ARE HELPING IRAQ REBUILD? hello?? Schools exist, electricity exists, parks, markets, people still have lives and businesses,
it isnt like people are inside hiding from hut to hut terrified that american soilders will burst in and kill them. oh wait there are people that are like that, but usually they are insurgents.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
The schools suck, lives are in contsnat danger, areas are contsnatly being bombed. Those accomplishments are good, but they're for nothing more than to save face. If you put in half the energy you put into the military into improving their living conditions things would be much better.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
No, that's not what you do. Honestly, you were willing to nagotiate with the Soviets, Germany, the Confederates, but not a small desert nation that poses little if any military threat?
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
We are committed to fighting this war, and any sign of weakness then we are as Osama says we are, a paper tiger, looking scary but easily burned. Do not surrender and run away. We must defeat these SoB's
Afriend2you 3 years ago
You've already killed Sadam. I suppose negotiating is still out of the question for some reason? You killed the evil dictator. What's stopping you?
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
the question u have to ask and really think about is will america become safer after a withdrawel? i dont think so, i think it would be the best day in the world for these islamo facists, they will be looked at as victors when we are crushing them in Iraq. I have been in iraq twice just getting back 2 months ago and going back in 10 months, it has changed with the surge. we r training more and more Iraqi troops, who are doing more and more of the fighting, It is neccessary to stay in Iraq
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Will America be safer? Very possibly. The terrorists are angry because of what America does. Move out and negotiate. Their cause will not have the kind of backing it currently has if you do so. Show you aren't afraid to fight, but also show you aren't teh gun-toating rednecks the world believes you to be. The war is creating more terrorists, who either join out of gained hatred for the US because of the war, or to defend their own families.
Victory and honor are not the same. Talk. Please.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
There is no negotiating RESEARCH FATWA AND JIHAD! they want us dead! end of statement, they arent some western nation u can talk to, they are people that believe in the end of the world where either ur muslim or you are dead. and not just any muslim Their kind of muslim. I believe we are crushing Al Queda and all the reports suggest that. we are making it hard for them to operate in where they operate. we have raided and killed and arrested countless members of al queda.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
I did.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Al queda is in Iraq. Research that.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
The al queda presence in Iraq PRIOR to the invasion was only a few members, all of low ranking. Now it's roughly 1-3% of their forces, which while still small, is MUCH greater than previously. You're creating enemies.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Umm what about 17 reslolutions? where he kicked UN inspectors out or did not allow them to search his palaces. Saddam was a threat and had ties to terrorism and WMD's. He had WMD's and we know he did, russia, england, israel, saudi arabia said Hussian had these weapons. We also know cause we gave WMD's 2 him to fight Iran. We found terrorist training camps in his country. We gave him 8 months to hand them over, 8 months and then we invaded. do you think he would listen to the 18th resolution?
Afriend2you 3 years ago
THERE WERE NO WMDS!!! None were found. Ever. And there were no terrorist groups in Iraq prior to US invasion.
Those WMDs, you just admitted, were ones you gave him. There was no legal quarrel with him owning a gift from you.
Ex. Here's a gun. Go kill the your enemy.
*uses the gun, but still has two bullets left*
Police! This man has a gun! Stop him!

McCain has no intentions of leaving Iraq. When he said 100 years, he meant it.
How poor do Americans want to get? Iraq is slowly sinking us, like a bad mortgage.
USPatriot4life 3 years ago 2
When is the media going to call McCave on this comparison to Korea, Japan and Germany? Noone believes the situation in Iraq will calm to the levels of these defeated countries w/ US presence. The comparison doesn't hold up under any scrutiny.
hdtwoodsman 3 years ago
He's absolutely right. When we withdraw is not as important as the success of the mission. The only thing he's guilty of is poor wording. He should have said, "That's important, but what's more important is . . ."
ahshutyourpiehole 3 years ago
To John McCain is "not too important" if US troops rot in Iraq for 100 Years.
Well "it is important" to their families, their friends and a large majority of the american people.
McCain just showed he is a heartless piece of shit
LordXmen2k 3 years ago
When someone enlists in the army, they are doing this on their own accord. They know that they can be stationed anywhere in the world for any period of time. This is why McCain isn't concerned with bringing them home. This is what the army does, they go places and stay their for periods of time. What he is concerned with is bringing down casualties. In this way, it wouldn't make a difference if these troops were in Iraq, Korea, Cuba, or wherever.
jm42892 3 years ago
"They know that they can be stationed anywhere in the world for any period of time. This is why McCain isn't concerned with bringing them home."
You should be ashamed on yourself. They joined the army. Therfore, they must fight in the war. But joining the army should not be the same as signing away your life for a causeless war! Lives are lives, whether enlisted or not.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Well im glad you can detirmine at 17 what war is and what it means to be a hero, you have the whole world figured out. WAR is hell and people want to kill you, plain and simple.
I have been to iraq for 2 tours, and I enlisted to defend my country from those who wish to do us harm. I am not a hero, I know heroes, and i am proud to serve with them, though some are dead. I have and will continue to serve my country. Boy, u better get wise that the world isnt black and white.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
A hero is someone who risks something precious to them for a worthy cause.
I know war is hell. Never having been in one, and hopefully never will, I can't say I understand what that hell is. But I know it's hell.
They want to harm you? I'm sorry, but what harm has Iraq done to ths US recently that caused this war? 9/11?? No. Wait. That was Saudi Arabi, that Bush wouldn't attack because they're rich and were nice to his daddy. WMDs? No. Wait. Those were fake, too. Info gathered from torture.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
I country is just land. Nothing more. You don't have to defend a country just because you happen to live in it. If you have to fight, fight for a cause. The country's name comes second, if even that.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
Diplomacy without a big stick is just talk, there is nothing holding Hussain to his word, i.e. 17 resolutions, saying if U do not let us disarm you we will invade you. well he didnt let us, 17 times. we are not at war with all muslims we are at war with the 5 percent that i would like to call Islamo-facists, because they r a group of people who will not tolerate our way of life and want to destroy us because of it. REMEMBER SEPT. 11! these terrorist groups have called war on us, what can we do?
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Interesting you mentioned September 11. I do remember. I also remember that there was no tie between 9/11 and Iraq. It was Saudi Arabia! The Iraqis were not involved in that.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
But u must understand that saddam had ties to terrorist organizations, and had WMD's but we talked for 8 months and do u think saddam was such a dummass he kept the wmds? i dont think so.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
I fight to protect my family and my friends, and because it is my duty. I live in the best country in the world, it isnt just a name, it is freedom, i can choose to do what i like in a civil manner, and i will not be persucuted because of my beliefes, i will not be killed because of my race, I am protected, and i am proud to be an American, i understand your posistion and i respect it.these people want us dead, and my cause is to kill them before they kill me or my family.
Afriend2you 3 years ago
Regarding the 100 year comment: Unlike Obama, McCain has military experience. He knows that it is unrealistic to pull troops out as soon as people want. Take Korea for example; The United States STILL has troops their since the 50s. Looks like he's not too far off when he says 100 years.
jm42892 3 years ago
How the hell can you be concerned about reducing casualties when you say a timeline for withdrawal doesn't matter?
McCain just derailed my logic train. And lost my vote.
rpgamera 3 years ago 2
It's obvious he's saying the timeline is not important. McCain doesn't want to advertise a timeline of defeat to our enemies.
Only Liberals would try to spin this...

More then 4,000 troops are DEAD Mr. McCain! Not to mention countless Iraqis. Is that "not too important"?!? How many have to die before it's enough!!
Senator Obama DOES realize you idiot! He knows that we need to bring them home before MORE are killed in a pointless war.
END THE WAR!! BRING OUR TROOPS HOME!!

HERO!
I fought in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and
1. Didn't get shot down
2. Didn't get captured
3. Didn't have to risk escape or help others escape according to our code of conduct (5 years in captivity!)
No one is calling me a HERO - why are they considering McCain a HERO. What did he do?
I would love to hear from some of his former POW comrades.
bigbenz64 3 years ago
bigbenz...
You're not being called a hero for the same reasons The MOnster isn't being called a hero.
1. We didn't get shot down
2. Didn't get captured
3. Didn't suffer years of torture
4. Didn't have to risk escape
Grow-up turd. Type in Bud Day on YTube and you can listen to what the most decorated man in military history (has the Medal of Honor as well) has to say about being roomates in the Hilton with McCain.
IPOMonster 3 years ago
Most reasonable people honor McCain's service to the country. But serving doesn't automatically give you a free pass. Duke Cunningham was nominated for the Medal of Honor, I believe. I would agree that better him than a bunch of chickenhawks like GW, Chenney, Ashcroft, Gingrich, Rove,Wolfowitz, Feith etc.
stealth63 3 years ago
I wouldn't call you a hero since I have no idea what your accomplishments during Desert Storm was, but McCain sure in hell is no hero. I respect his service in the military and his determination and refusal to break under torture, but the man is in no way a hero. If I was able of voting (is only 17, and lives in Canada), I'd vote for Obama, hands down. We don't need a third term of Bush.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
What the hell is wrong is wrong with you. Even Obama knows that this man is an American war hero, Obama said it. John McCain's father was a very celebrated American war General. The Vietnamese knew that. When they captured the group that John McCain was in, they noticed him and decided that they we're going to let him go. They did that because, since know one knew the rest we're, if they let John McCain go, they would be getting "point" for being so "nice" to the Americans.
BRIANROX94 3 years ago
when they told John McCain he was going to be let go, he said "No, I am not going to leave this building until you let every single one of my friends and fellow troops out with me." The reason he wanted to stay was because he knew they were going to kill all of his fellow troops as soon as he left. He stayed with his friends and was then tortured. John McCain is a true American war hero. You wouldn't understand what a war HERO is because you're from Canada.
BRIANROX94 3 years ago
First off, I couldn't care less what his father did. The accomplishments of the father aren't the accomplishments of the son.
Obama saying it doesn't make it true. I like Obama, but I don't have to agree with everything the man says.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago
I didn't know McCain did that. All I knew was that he was shot down, captured and tortured. I didn't know he put himself through so much extra pain to save the lives of his comrades. Now that I know this, I will call him a war hero. I wouldn't ever vote for him, but he's a war hero.
I don't see why you have to insult my country. That was totally uncalled for. But for the record, the Red Barron was shot down by a Canadian fighter pilot.
BalmungSama0 3 years ago

2MANYDUMMIES 3 years ago
Unbelievable. How can he possibly advocate for an endless continuation of the Iraq War while not proposing ANY tax increases. He's just making the money up like George W. Bush. If you're for the war then you should be for more taxes. If not, too bad, we cant keep making money up. Its the reason gas prices are up. Our dollar drops because of our huge debt - the price of oil is based on our dollar - oil prices here in the US go up. Sure its more complicated, but you cant deny that relationship.
