I personnally think Tekken is the best I'll admit that I haven't played much VF just 4 and 5 but I love DOA I just feel that Tekken is a much more deeper game while DOA is just a lot of flash and not as deep so yea for me it's gotta be Tekken.
VF=Realistic gameplay, and I do like Pai. She's a great character to handle.
Tekken=Collective characters. There are SO many characters, from Roger Jr. to Christie (my favorite character)
DOA=Stages, and graphics. The story is great, too., because everyone is connected some sort of way. The stages are actually the best part of the game. They clearly beat VF and Tekken on the stages, but it seems Tekken 6 will be having multi-tiered stages as well.
I think Tekken is the best. and it is not slow. the clip shown were obviously two noobs fighting. check some tekken matches here in youtube then decide if its slow.
I'm pretty sure there will be a DOA5. Team Ninja hasn't been disbanded even if Itagaki has left it. So says in Wikipedia and I hope it's so. I also read about a DOA Online game for PC which will be released during the Olympics. So, as for year 2008, we won't be empty-hands!
also notice the gameplay in DOA is way better than the other two. They move all slow but DOA makes in interesting, and I'm not talking about multitiered levels, or in this case, the car in the las vegas level But hey, the environments look way better. When have you seen a kimono move like that in a fighting game? Sure the hair strands look better in Tekken 6, but i know DOA will surpass it. DOA also has better bosses.
And I was just saying on the other Comments board that DOA's fast speed is what makes DOA so unrealistic, and that's what makes it perfect as a videogame, especially for people who likes fast moving games, but not as a realistic simulation of real life fighting and combat arts...
As for DOA having better bosses, try saying "CHEAP bosses" instead.
I've played DOA2 & 3, and, as if the high difficulty level wasn't bad enough, DOA2 & 3 had some of the cheapest bosses in fighting games. From what I've read on reviews of DOA4, again there is a cheap, over powerful boss in that game, too, making for a frustrating, rather than a fun and challenging game.
However, Namco has done the same thing with "Tekken 5"; Jinpachi Mishima is the CHEAPEST boss that Namco had ever created for a Tekken game.
As for "DOA will surpass Tekken 6", I wouldn't hold my breath, if I was you. DOA's creator, Tomonobu Itagaki, has left Tecmo. As if that wasn't enough, he is now SUING Tecmo for "unpaid work bonuses" that he claims was promised to him for his work on DOA4. And other Tecmo employees have joined him in suing Tecmo, for the same reasons.
Whether Itagaki gets his money or not doesn't matter. He/they might end up bankrupting Tecmo with the lawsuit alone! So not only can't Itagaki continue with the DOA series, after leaving Tecmo, but even Tecmo may not be able to make any DOA games, due to them going bust! So don't hold your breath waiting for DOA5.
He already had his works underway before he purssued with his suing. both for doa and ninja gaiden. There is going to be a DOA5, my guess, maybe for the new xbox coming. I just think the bosses are better, Tekken had bosses that were somewhat not a challenge. VF, well I dunno, i git bored of the series and didn't continue the game. But in DOA3, that game had praises that I believe no other game mentioned here got.

I like DOA... not because of the bounciness or anything sexually related. (actually I don't notice them, well you wont notice them since the game is so fast-paced). People say that DOA is just a button-mashing game, haha you havent touched Gen-fu or Leifang.. The King of damage and the Queen of counter and parries both requires steady and calm handling. I like the game because of its fluidity and is very consistent. Not to bad-mouth Tekken and VF.. they are both great games, I just prefer DOA.

Tekken and DOA are the best because of Storyline. Tekken has the good characters for every player. DOA has better locations to battle (except I like Tekken 4's). VF is just bland and generic. The characters are just like the other.

So if I had to choose, I'd say that DOA is my favorite with VF coming in 2nd and Tekken in third. VF only takes 2nd because I've recently played VF5 and I'm still waiting for Tekken 6.
Tekken is good but I feel as though they've run out of steam. With no counter-system, I feel as if it's more of a hit-hit-block game more than a fighter.
Unlike some people, I can follow the DOA storyline as it branches into the differing character's own lives. The fighting is smooth and the enviornments are well designed (have been since DOA2).
VF lacks character development which means I don't have any attachment to any of the characters. They all seem like a generic fighter from another game I've played in the 2D era.
Sorry but I agree with Crashtian yes DOA has the graphics buts way too simple to hold any interest and as I said before lay off the breast implants personally I don't care how big a chicks boobs are I worry about how smooth her moves are!

DOA is nice to look at but way too simple to hold my interest. It's meant to be easy to play and is for casual players. VF5 is aimed at hardcore players. Getting the hang of a VF character can take months vs just days in DOA4.

I personally prefer DOA as i like a fighting game to have more than one punch per minute (looks at Tekken), It's been a while since i played VF, so i won't comment on it, other than saying i seem to remember it being fairly good.
Tekken is good and doa is absolutely smooth but vf character's movements are too stiff 4 me... tekken is a game wherein u'll surely know who's veteran and so is vf but doa is button smashing and it hurts wen ur defeated by novices who only rely w/ grab and counter-attacks. as 4 d graphics, vf so far s owning then doa4, i can say nothing bout tekken 6 coz i didnt actually see 1.
if your looking for more depth, strategies, tactics, techniques, moves, fighting styles, character selection, better stories, gameplay, joining tournaments, etc....Then TEKKEN is the choice...and that's the bottom line.
Both Virtua Fighter and Tekken are great to me, except DOA because I keep staggered too much by the CPU in DOA4 and I can't even evade it. That's the only DOA I dont like.

VF: Realism
Tekken: Storytelling
DoA: Boobies!
Each have it's merits.

I'm a fan of all three games but I'll give you my list.
1. VF-the deepest and most technical 3D fighting game out there.
2. DOA-Great characters, and stages with some fun game play to match but it is on the same line as soft core porn.
3. Tekken-Great list of characters but I do believe the game play could be improved a little bit IMO.

there's nothing wrong with Tekken's gameplay because they foucs on time and combos. Although they don't add speed, time makes up for it.
It's the fastest gameplay fighter ever.
If you want to ask which gameplay could be improved its DoA.
They copied alot of elements from Virtua Fighter and focused on speed (makes the gameplay so cheap and less stragetic).

Virtua fighter = better then DOA :), but very slow, the graphics are nice tho.

I'm pretty sure there will be a DOA5. Team Ninja hasn't been disbanded even if Itagaki has left it. So says in Wikipedia and I hope it's so. I also read about a DOA Online game for PC which will be released during the Olympics. So, as for year 2008, we won't be empty-hands!

also notice the gameplay in DOA is way better than the other two. They move all slow but DOA makes in interesting, and I'm not talking about multitiered levels, or in this case, the car in the las vegas level But hey, the environments look way better. When have you seen a kimono move like that in a fighting game? Sure the hair strands look better in Tekken 6, but i know DOA will surpass it. DOA also has better bosses.

And I was just saying on the other Comments board that DOA's fast speed is what makes DOA so unrealistic, and that's what makes it perfect as a videogame, especially for people who likes fast moving games, but not as a realistic simulation of real life fighting and combat arts...
As for DOA having better bosses, try saying "CHEAP bosses" instead.

I've played DOA2 & 3, and, as if the high difficulty level wasn't bad enough, DOA2 & 3 had some of the cheapest bosses in fighting games. From what I've read on reviews of DOA4, again there is a cheap, over powerful boss in that game, too, making for a frustrating, rather than a fun and challenging game.

However, Namco has done the same thing with "Tekken 5"; Jinpachi Mishima is the CHEAPEST boss that Namco had ever created for a Tekken game.
As for "DOA will surpass Tekken 6", I wouldn't hold my breath, if I was you. DOA's creator, Tomonobu Itagaki, has left Tecmo. As if that wasn't enough, he is now SUING Tecmo for "unpaid work bonuses" that he claims was promised to him for his work on DOA4. And other Tecmo employees have joined him in suing Tecmo, for the same reasons.

Whether Itagaki gets his money or not doesn't matter. He/they might end up bankrupting Tecmo with the lawsuit alone! So not only can't Itagaki continue with the DOA series, after leaving Tecmo, but even Tecmo may not be able to make any DOA games, due to them going bust! So don't hold your breath waiting for DOA5.

He already had his works underway before he purssued with his suing. both for doa and ninja gaiden. There is going to be a DOA5, my guess, maybe for the new xbox coming. I just think the bosses are better, Tekken had bosses that were somewhat not a challenge. VF, well I dunno, i git bored of the series and didn't continue the game. But in DOA3, that game had praises that I believe no other game mentioned here got.

Don't forget, Tekken has something that the other 2 games doesn't have: Grizzly bears, Pandas, Kangaroos, Lizards, Dinosaurs, magically-brought-to-life Wooden Dummies. lol
And with the introduction of Roger Jr. in "Tekken 5", and Mokujin, Mrs. Mokujin and his family in "Tekken 3" (I think), there's a whole family of kangaroos and wooden dummies in the Tekken series. XD
Personally, I would like to see Alex, the boxing gloved-lizard/dinosaur, and Gon, also a lizard/dinosaur from T3, return.

I say Tekken over all these .. not very good at VF I dont think I had it on Saturn and I got DOA4 I recently, I like DOA4 now once I got good at it but instead they really need to just make a Game that has DOA VS Tekken cause DOA is biteing the fuck out of Tekkens style and fighters! you can find a fighter that basically matches somebody from tekken on DOA4

DOA is nothing more than a VF copycat game. Even Tomonobu Itagaki has said the following things: "DOA's game engine was inspired (read: borrowed, copied, STOLEN) by Sega's "Virtua Fighter". I took the speed and sex appeal from "Fatal Fury" and "King Of Fighters", and the multi-level fighting stages from 2D "Mortal Kombat". See? Itagaki has NOT come up with 1 single ORIGINAL idea of his own for DOA. ALL the ideas in DOA have been "inspired" (borrowed, copied, stolen from) by other fighting games!

Newsflash (for those who doesn't already know it): Just read on GameSpot that Tomonobu Itagaki has left Tecmo. People are wondering if Tecmo is going to continue with the DOA, DOAX and Ninja Gaiden series, and appoint a new person/people in charge of the series, or are they going to discontinue the series. So have fun playing DOA4 on your X-Box 360s, if it hasn't broken down again, for the umpteenth time. :D It may very well be the last DOA game ever released. :-)

I like DOA... not because of the bounciness or anything sexually related. (actually I don't notice them, well you wont notice them since the game is so fast-paced). People say that DOA is just a button-mashing game, haha you havent touched Gen-fu or Leifang.. The King of damage and the Queen of counter and parries both requires steady and calm handling. I like the game because of its fluidity and is very consistent. Not to bad-mouth Tekken and VF.. they are both great games, I just prefer DOA.

This vid blows. DOA and VF were made for noobs. Look for a Tekken video with players who know what they're doing. VF's characters are fucking bland. Compare Jin Kazama and Kazuya Mishima to Goh and Akira? Or Yoshimitsu to Dural? Or Lau to Heihachi? Or Leon to Bruce Irvin?

Notice in the Tekken footage they did no special moves at all. No sidestepping, no dashes. These dumbasses didn't even know how to block. lol doa and costumes...wow. i mean, apart from the cleavage their costumes are about the same lvl as vf. nothing special, at all. and with vf 5 and tekken 5, the costumes improved and lets just say all 3 games have equal costuming. and doa stages are very similiar to tekken's.

Doa stages are huge, you can interect with every cliff, tree or standing object.
Doa still beats every game in costumes.
I've played all games, (Tekken 1-5) (VF 4) (DOA 2-3-4) and I notice you don't know what you speak of.

nah costumes may vary but theyre nothing special. ok, give me who your best doa dresser is in doa; that is, who has overall the best costuming and can best represent the series. for tekken i'll use yoshimitsu, for vf i'll use eileen.

ok, what i think is that if anyone is a good example of doa costumes, its lei fang. even her doa 2 costumes were pretty varied and awesome. but honestly, lets go for QUALITY not quantity. if every other outfit looks like a slightly varied version of the same clothes, then thats ridiculous, even with 20 friggin costumes. doa does this. so i think all in all the 3 series are even.

Tekken and DOA are the best because of Storyline. Tekken has the good characters for every player. DOA has better locations to battle (except I like Tekken 4's). VF is just bland and generic. The characters are just like the other.

for me its 1st tekken 2nd doa 3rd virtua fighter and heres why vf is 3rd ok its technical and has a lot of depth but the characters have like no back story unless you search the internet and read the little booklet and is a cg ending to much to ask for and how come this games been out the longest and only has like 17 bland generic character (oh but goh rocks)

So if I had to choose, I'd say that DOA is my favorite with VF coming in 2nd and Tekken in third. VF only takes 2nd because I've recently played VF5 and I'm still waiting for Tekken 6.

Tekken is good but I feel as though they've run out of steam. With no counter-system, I feel as if it's more of a hit-hit-block game more than a fighter.

Unlike some people, I can follow the DOA storyline as it branches into the differing character's own lives. The fighting is smooth and the enviornments are well designed (have been since DOA2).
VF lacks character development which means I don't have any attachment to any of the characters. They all seem like a generic fighter from another game I've played in the 2D era.

DOA is porn addicts(the only pushing sells of this game is the all female casts bustlines)VF4 has the best graphics and probably is a really good game. Tekken is popular because it has a really good storyline,each character has a truely ligit reason for entering a tournament. Plus Tekken/VF4 definitely don't need freakin breast implants to practically sell the game.

sorry to disappoint you but thats the only reason DOA sells, the boobs (and the fact that it sports way too many female fighters, can some one say Diversity!) isn't the only reason that DOA sucks ass, sure the fighting is great but it lacks diversity , no story line(means its boring)or anything like that, you feel like your just playing the same game.

DOA is nice to look at but way too simple to hold my interest. It's meant to be easy to play and is for casual players. VF5 is aimed at hardcore players. Getting the hang of a VF character can take months vs just days in DOA4.

Tekken is the World of Warcraft of fighting games, it's the most popular, but it sucks ass :/
I personally prefer DOA as i like a fighting game to have more than one punch per minute (looks at Tekken), It's been a while since i played VF, so i won't comment on it, other than saying i seem to remember it being fairly good.

Tekken is good and doa is absolutely smooth but vf character's movements are too stiff 4 me... tekken is a game wherein u'll surely know who's veteran and so is vf but doa is button smashing and it hurts wen ur defeated by novices who only rely w/ grab and counter-attacks. as 4 d graphics, vf so far s owning then doa4, i can say nothing bout tekken 6 coz i didnt actually see 1.

if your looking for more depth, strategies, tactics, techniques, moves, fighting styles, character selection, better stories, gameplay, joining tournaments, etc....Then TEKKEN is the choice...and that's the bottom line.

Both Virtua Fighter and Tekken are great to me, except DOA because I keep staggered too much by the CPU in DOA4 and I can't even evade it. That's the only DOA I dont like.

i find it funny the reactions im seeing.. the person that made the video hates tekken so they are going to make it look bad.. what did you expect.. the match they had was 2 new players with no movement and little knowledge of the game while the other 2 games showed expert lvl play.. also he showed tekken 5 which is a PS2 game vs 2 next gen games. tekken 6 is gonna be a lot better than DOA4, and on par with VF5.

That Tekken round was HORRIBLE. You show a match of people spamming Circle and d/f + Circle? That was in NO way an indicator of Tekken play.
Whoever played that round should play something more suited to their tastes. Clearly Tekken isn't doing it for them.
