This sounds a little like "tighten up" by Archie Bell and the Drells.  You guys should check that out....it was a very popular song in the mid 70's.

@TTYumYum I simply love Ben Jorge, in fact I think he's the most important innovator in history of Brazilian music....however, This recording is dated 1970....Archie Bell and the Drells came out with "Tighten up" in 1968.....check out the song, and see if you see the same similarites that I do. I just think Ben was influenced by this recording is all.

@JColeM7785 I doubt that seriously.....because The Drells song came out before this recording. Usually you are probably correct. Just not here, these cats were small known group out of Houston, TX....at the time they had little access to Brazilian' jazz/popular music....except for the bossa nova people played out in the states.
