Im sooo greatful for this scene! I was curious who Bette Davis was i googled, and found her on youtube like 5 monthes ago. and now i Love this legendary actress.
@sweetfuckingchrist you took the words right out of my mouth. Bette didn't say What a dump in the manner Elizabeth Taylor imitated. It was a flat what a dump. She was walking down stairs and in the living room states it flatly.
The name of the movie is Beyond the Forest. Liz Taylor and Bette Davis could chew up the set and scenery. They were both wonderfully talented actresses.
who cares if bette davis wanted play virginia woolf now everybody knows what liz taylor did a brilliance performance as same richard burton and the other couple of actors but i think this movies is more famous cuz everybody wanted see burton-taylor humilliating each and other on scene
Edward Albee was a great fan of Bette Davis. Davis desperately wanted to play Martha in this film version of Albee's play with Henry Fonda as George. I wonder what would have been done with the "What a dump" line if this had occurred. People were shocked when Taylor got the part, many doubtful if Taylor could pull it off, but she was terrific in the role. Her greatest performance, I think.
Fell asleep on this last night via TCM. Taylor gives the performance of her career, I feel. Great in this role. Love the part in this clip where she eats the chicken leg, but then throws the bare bone back into the fridge instead of the trash can. LMAO

@rbsvy91368 I know. But, Martha was drunk and she exaggerated just a bit.
