@CurleysPizzeria no that is called Limited. I said Limitor, guess when you are overcome by a wind you'll not be able to hear the words on the cam. and certain cams will be muffled. I have many tests and today can be anotehr one just for tt this example.

Did you get rid of the hissing sound. Your first mic had the hissing. ? I've got the same problem on my Zi8.

Thanks for posting this! I have an Audio Technica ATR-3350 lapel mic, and my audio is recorded in only one channel when I view my clips, do you know what I need to do to get audio in both channels?

@Knoptop by checking the plug you can tell if its stereo or mono. in order to get stereo, you must have a stero mic, and your device to accept stereo.

@KrystalIsLost you'll find me talkin more about the cams circuitry of how no matter what top dollar boom mic. To use. While the only best sound yo'll achieve of the cam is what the cam sound board is capable of.

Like your video. You start off by saying you're using an inexpensive extension cord with a gain mic. What is brand of extension cord, how long is it, and what kind of gain mic is it? (Or do they come together? (Anyway, I need about 10-12 feet of extension.) I'm getting much worse sound than you are out of my Zi8 and I thought I did all this good research.

Thanks for the video. I run a website and often interview people with my Zi8. I was hoping to get a microphone that I could pop into the side with a wind screen, as the wind is really the only thing that prevents me from liking all of my videos. If bought that Sony, would it pick up the sound in front and behind the camera? Does it come with a wind screen? I don't want to get involved with anything too fancy, rather I just want something that will stick into the microphone jack. Thanks!

Is the mic gain setting in the Zi8 on default setting? you said the 2inch GE detachable mic is omni and stereo? i'm interested in that one.

no I gain up to level 3 if the mouse has increments 4 is in why I set up the cam is incorrectly se to a lower standing.

in Norm it be the same.

Those $5.00 Hong Kong "Sony" mics are all over eBay. I just bought one myself. $35.00 is about as cheap as you can find the real official Sony version. I may get one of those too, just to compare. The real Sony version should have better stereo separation.
