    THANKS.

  • Merin is setting this up as one man selfishly against all the homeless. How dare him to not want a camp of 30+ people on the other side of the chain link fence that separates the properties. How dare him be "irate". As Merin states, unfortunately for Mr. Hernandez, one of the empty lots surrounding his house belongs to Merin. That is so true. But it is also unfortunate for the entire neighborhood. We are all affected by Mr. Merin's choices. Mr. Merin, take it to your OWN neighborhood!

  • "It's a basic human rights issue." Mark Merin is right on. It's also a US civil rights issue, with a magnitude of discrimination against persons unsheltered that is analogous to the societal discrimination against blacks in the Jim Crow South. In denying the civil right to legally sleep to a person who happens to be economically or otherwise disabled, our society diminishes our own commitment to the fundamental maxim that all men (sic) are created equal.

  • Fuck them

  • WE allowed shanty towns in the last DEPRESSION. I own a home and if homeless people want to camp near our residence then I say ...AMEN

  • I wish I wold have had something like Safe Ground when I was homeless.
