I try to keep an open mind- maybe she'll blow me away some day- I'm not too hopeful from what I've already seen, but anything is possible! I agree with you on Jennifer Batten- I saw her live with Jeff Beck- if you can keep up with someone like that, you're a smokin' player, period.

Anna Popovic smokes her. Orianthi can play, but man- her tone and chops are pretty generic to be considered one of the 'greatest players' ever. I'm not gonna rag on her abilities, but the fact is there are MANY MANY people out there who flat out smoke her, are more original and have WAY better tone. She looks better doing it than 99% of them might be why she's is so 'revered'. Just a guess though. She IS good! I'll give her that....

Sorry guys you're all misjudging her, this video's sound quality is horrible, try watching Vodoo Child at Summer Sonic Japan, also try watching her duet with Carlos Santana, Violet journey and Light of Manos are good pieces too.

She does have Skill for having her place in the list of best blues guitar players of world. "FIRE"(new EP) is coming! She is going show her true skills.

orianthi is good looking but seriously she's an average guitarist at best. she butchers the beat it solo, voodoo child,etc. is clueless about her gear (watch the tc electronic toneprint videos). she doesn't even know how to tweak her amps and effects. hey some people are just lucky. look at all the ugly actors working in hollywood.

There is more to being a great guitarist than technical ability alone. What do you expect people to do, not like her or buy her music. And guys still get noticed.

@BangLikeABassist Overrated compared to the statements that shes 'the best', but shes not overrated as she indeed IS a fantastic player and singer. Her performance skills as of late are a bit too 'rehearsed' like she came out of rock school where someone was saying 'hey do a power slide' or some gay shit like that but at least she isnt like 90% of the bedroom rock stars on youtube. The most important thing is that shes doing the damn thing. hell or high water. She isnt talking, shes doing it.
