It is for one of them. Obama wants us on reserve in case nations like Russia want to get froggy. He has voted every time to increase VA hospital support and for the GI Bill while McCain said it gave the service members too much. And he also voted against the VA hospital upgrades. But he wants to tie America's hands by keeping us in Iraq.

Obama said we need to put more troops in Afghanistan. Bush agreed but said he would not do it. The next president could worry about it.

The heartbreaking stories in the last year of the neglect of our wounded soldiers care stateside shows the Republicans in charge once again saying they support the military but not acting on that idea.

What if we were a country that valued those who volunteer in the Peace Corp as we do the Marine Corp? Shouldn't that really be the focus, rather than sending our sons and daughters off to what could be the end of their lives in an unjust war? I am a Marine and have been one for 18 years. I guess I am a better judge of comparing them. Especially since my brother served in the Peace Corp when we were younger. The chain of command is similar, The PC guys are sometimes put in the middle of war torn nations where there is still killing. They unlike me are willing to go in with out a weapon or even armed guards. They are pretty damn brave. They are the ones who actually help people. Read the news a lot of kids are killed in Iraq by us.

Oh and national guard does not count nor do ranks below E-6. As a Marine Battalion CO I know that the command structure to get stuff done is a lot like the service. In addition, could you put yourself in a war torn area without a weapon? Thats a brave person.

thats funny. As a Marine I would have to say no to both McCain and Obama because McCain wears his military service on his sleeve like a kid who wishes he was given a real chance to get into the game. He was a pilot. He saw death from 20,000 feet and has never led a combat unit.

Obama share all these same things with McCain. The differents is Obama doesn't yearn for war because he thinks its his strongest subject. Obama would weigh all the options first. Hell McCain wants war over Georgia.
