These aren't ufo's.. This is a light phenomenon.. We see this up north all the time when it's very cold an there are free floating ice crystals in the atmosphere. A light source from the ground causes it. I would only assume this is the same thing or dust grains reflecting light in the same way. You guys are that bored. It's a refection of a light on the windshield that you are shooting footage out of. You can see where the light is coming from on the bottom. It matches the location of your so called UFO. That is also why the so called UFO is looking like a vertical streak.
Sorry to say but those were spotlights. Each one has a coresponding light near the ground. The lights were then hitting clouds at altitude, and you were seeing this portion of the light being reflected.

I talked with the guys who filmed this years ago, and it is the result of desert temperature inversion on village lights. When combined, it creates an elevated mirage. The same exact phenomenon can be witnessed in some rather recent photos of village lights in extremely cold areas during the Winter months. Interesting? It's downright awesome. It is not anything artificially created however, rather, it is nature at play.

I see lighting on the ground directly below it. It reminds me of cold winter nights when the air is full of light snow that is super chilled ice crystals that reflect lights on the ground the same way. Perhaps dessert dust can do the same.

@jroach96 really? same as the mexico lights that were filmed by fighter pilots? i guess you didn't watch that video. it shows orbs of light flying across the sky, following the planes. they are very clearly moving across the sky. obviously not stationary oil rigs. you were misinformed.

@jroach96 so how does an oil fire "appear" to be thousands of feet higher than it actually is? i've had family stationed in Iraq. they've never heard of such a phenomena. you'd think that soldiers who've been in the desert for years would be aware of such a thing. or that more experienced soldiers would have told them.

@ObjectiveObserver4 When one looks out of a plane, does one not see the Earth's horizon? This is just my opinion, but I believe these lights to be an optical illusion far off over a considerable distance, as the lights only appear to be flying in the air...Believe what you will ;-)

@ObjectiveObserver4 Well, to me the camera appears to be looking down and out onto the horizon. Why is that strange? Wether it's from a plane or not is perhaps debateable since the description only says "on patrol". I can see how "on patrol' could most certainly mean on the ground, but when i first saw this I thought it was from a plane...make sense?

I used some night sights while in Denmark and (then) W.Germany back in 83-84 and was amazed at what you are able to see in the sky with them. I really wish I had my own just to saw others. Really amazing stuff up there.

Some of them sacrifice their first childs birth, or first birthday/christmas, etc. That is what you should respect them for. Because they are man enough to stand up for what is right. You guys are that bored. It's a refection of a light on the windshield that you are shooting footage out of. You can see where the light is coming from on the bottom. It matches the location of your so called UFO. That is also why the so called UFO is looking like a vertical streak.

Sorry to say but those were spotlights. Each one has a coresponding light near the ground. The lights were then hitting clouds at altitude, and you were seeing this portion of the light being reflected.

I talked with the guys who filmed this years ago, and it is the result of desert temperature inversion on village lights. When combined, it creates an elevated mirage. The same exact phenomenon can be witnessed in some rather recent photos of village lights in extremely cold areas during the Winter months. Interesting? It's downright awesome. It is not anything artificially created however, rather, it is nature at play.
