  • gotta add it.. my favourite rpg series. just an fyi for those who haven't played it, first game is solid... not super great, but not crappy... just solid. Second game... hmm, wtf happened to it?! the story does get fairly good later in the second one, but it kinda sucks at first. Now the the third game... OMG BEST GAME EVER!!! I dropped my jaw when i first played it. I'd lowered my expectations after the second game... but the third blew me away. Oh, and xenogears rocks, too ^.^

  • if this song doesn't make tears well up in your eyes, then you obviously have yet to play xenosaga.

  • I can't even list how many times I have played through the Xenosaga series.... Beautiful graphics (for PS2), beautiful story & characters, and the best music ever composed.

  • I am a great fan of Yuki Kajiura's music and when I heard that she also composed the soundtrack for Xenosaga 3, I considered playing Xenosaga 3 for the sake of enjoying the music. Then however, I heard that the story is intertwined with Episode 1 and 2 and I wavered. Then again, after listening to this track, I thought: "Fuck this shit, I am SO going to play all 3 games!"

  • O A O can anyone give me a link for the mp3 of this? ,;, w,;,

    thanks~!

  • Wish they made more games of this caliber this gen, alas, we have to deal with half-baked JRPG shovelware this gen. They come out but it takes forever to see one of this magnitude. How I miss the PS2 days.

  • Also, this is one of the best tracks from any VG I've ever heard. It didn't really catch my attention when I was actually playing the game.

  • @LightFykki

I dunno... That second one. Oh, boy. That was more of an enduring than a playing. 1 and 3 were great, though.

  • This music is incredible... And the game alone. It is something that everyone needs to experience and go through. it is something really special and truly emotinal, all sequels, even the so called "second- the bad one". All three are part of something that is truly deep and special.

  • bad game, but great atmosphere and battle. I wish more RPGs would understand this.

  • Hey Guys I need some help... Im looking for the soundtrack from Xenosaga 3 from when the Miltia conflict is occuring. Please Reply if you find it on Youtube. Thanks :D!

  • Man, I cried a lot at the end of this game.

  • Xenosaga can indeed be sad. Although it's probably one of the most WTF games around. I won't say anything, but lets just say that spoilers will make you stare at the screen for a few moments before looking credulously confused.

  • The 5 ppl who disliked this song were testaments obviously......seriously who would dislike this song ?

  • i remember some bad things with this song, it's very very sad T_T

  • WHO THE FUCK DISLIKED THIS?!?!?

  • @aziraphaleism Lame. Spoilers right at the top? C'mon.

  • @AmbivalenceHopeful Because you were destined to. Kidding.

  • @AmbivalenceHopeful Because you were destined to.

  • @aziraphaleism WHY, WHY DID I HAVE TO READ YOUR COMMENT?!

  • i started crying so much when kosmos died. She was and always be my favorite character

  • hm...

  • Jesus is lord, great

  • Kinda reminds me of the locket-song in the pirates of the caribbean movies..

  • I've never played this game but I want to now. I should invest in a PS2 and track these games down.

  • This is so beautiful, yet sad. Would fit very well to a funeral.

  • Xenosaga III and Final Fantasy X > LIFE!

  • Peaceful yet sad master piece.

  • People who disliked this song is either a xenogears fan and totally just dont like this series or don't like music in general, that's why every song out there has 1 dislike.

  • @kei0kusanagi Oh please, honestly I hardly ever seen any Xenogears fans ripping this series like with Chrono Trigger fans LOVE to do for Chrono Cross. Yasunori Mitsuda did the music for all those games too, props to him to making them even memorable with such great music.

  • @goldman77700 No you're right, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross does have great music, but I seen many people dislike Xenosaga because they prefer Xenogears.

  • @kei0kusanagi Now that's a true shame, still...its not as bad as Chrono Trigger fans with Chrono Cross...thankfully.

  • @kei0kusanagi

I agree with you. There ARE many people who bash XS JUST because it isn't a real prequel to XG. "I didn't like XS1 because it wasn't XG... XS SUCKS... XG is so perfect" I heard that many times and it pisses me off (I'm a huge XG fan... but I loved Xenosaga so much too... those games are BOTH awfully flawed but they are BOTH full of awesome as well). And I heard this more than I heard Chrono Trigger fans getting nasty with CC (and I did heart nasty things regarding CC).

  • How do i get this song onto mi ipod?? I REALLY Want alot of songs from Xenosaga. Especially this one.

  • If anyone is listening to this for the first time, then they will obviously not know the true background of this amazing scene/fight. For anyone to know its EPICNESS, they would seriously HAVE to play the 1st, second, and 3rd game. Period. In my humble opinion, this series is the BEST RPG series ever played on ANY console.

    -X-

  • @xman9669

    AGREED!

  • @xman9669 BUT THATS SO MUCH WORK. i have the first two though

  • if this trilogy became a movie series it wuld b the most epic thing ever also this song is beautiful

  • 4 people........ have no souls.

  • @gregorycawthorne Make that...five. What could be wrong with these people, I wonder?

  • wow this is touching its like a saying good bye song

  • this theme is more of Telos theme....seeing the first time i heard it was when you fight telos at the end. In my opinion...telos is more human than kos mos ever could be. I hope one day the idiots who chopped up xenosaga to hell will fix their shameful mistake. or xenogias will get a worthy rehatch.

  • @masterxagas telos is kosmos. they are the same person mary. telos is her soul or human will. while kosmos was suppose to be her body or better yet looks because androids are not human.

  • @masterxagas telos is kosmos. they are the same person, Mary. telos is her soul or human will. while kosmos was suppose to be her body or better yet looks because androids are not human.Thats why she needed to destroy her in the first place. So she can become herself. The story is more complex than a lot of people think.

  • @masterxagas my bad made a mistake telos is the body and kos mos is her will. that's why telos skin color is darker and why i think she was originally intended to win.So she can absorb kos mos.

  • @BushidoMH Kajiura Yuki (This song's Composer) does that to people, and I'm sorry to say this but she's just messing with us.

  • 3 people listen to too much dumb rap...

  • @myang245 A shame ain't it.

  • @myang245 i saw you post this on the forums.... and i listen to rap... not everyone crys to video game music.... so you shouldnt be so rude to people who dont agree with your music.. .but this song is beautiful.. just sayn..

  • @myang245 How the hell do you even bring rap into this?

They may have just been Yasunori Mitsuda extremists.

  • Finish this game on speed pills in a marathon of over 16h.

  • 2:49 gives me the chills everytime!!!

  • Xenosaga fuken owns! Nothing else need be said.

  • This is the most heartmoving theme in all of the xenosaga series, second only to pain from x1.

  • Xenosaga IV please!

  • This is quite possible one of the the saddest songs I have ever heard.

Leave behind what you don't need if it becomes a burden. Release your attatchments, they will not help you in your quest to succeed...

  • In which battle is this music heard??

  • @Jiyanamiki

This is the music that plays when you fight T-Elos near the end of the third game.

  • @XthTerrorOfDeath Oh, I see! I'm almost halfway through the 2nd game. Looking foward to it ^.^

  • Xenosaga is a game series I will remember for the rest of my life, to bad the JRPG's of this generation aren't like these ones. I think ps2's generation was the best generation of JRPGs because games were made with heart and soul back then, now its just money.

  • Best Boss fight music EVER!

It takes balls to put an emotional song like this in a boss fight, and skill to pull it off correctly. Xenosaga III does both.

  • @Amyante they did that in chrono cross also. at some point you fight along to this really sad sounding music. i forgot the bosses name. i wanna say hes the boss in the dead sea tower.

  • like this song

  • best music, isn't it?

more musical than any other music is.

  • so sad....and sorrow music....

  • like a angel sing for someone who want to be together forever.

  • I bought the first episode out of curious and now this series haunted my life.

  • Video....game....music.....

  • what is VGM?

  • The 3rd Xenosaga is an Epic. It's sad to know it's the end...especially where KOSMOS left off...

  • anyone care to tell me why this song is so touching

  • @betamexx

you´ll know when you play the xenosaga games

  • I have cried so many times, when I have listened this wonderful piece..

So beautiful and sad. Best - Ever!

  • This song is so sad i feel like crying when i hear it T_T

  • T_T nuuuuu.....

  • I always loved the game when i bought it, when i heard this song it got even better.

  • so this was played during the final battle w. Telos. But it only loops the first 2:50 minuts of the track. Did i miss something, or is the second half of this song just a soundtrack-only part?

  • @Goldsac

The last part played in the scene right after said fight.

  • D: I want to see KOS-MOS again KOS-MOS don't say good night to us !!

    Say good morning D:

  • An amazing song from an amazing game!

Probably my favourite RPG on the PS2.

  • The most beautiful song I've ever heard.

  • i agree, everytime i hear this song it makes me want to cry...

  • So is this the battle music between Telos and KOS-MOS?

If so, it just earned another million points.

  • Few video games have touched me emotionally as the 3rd xenosaga did. May it someday be made into a full length film like its maker intended. and may its memory live on.

  • @greenscope08 lol

  • @greenscope08 dunno man, movies about games.......it usually just is murder

  • @greenscope08 lol

  • Amongs the three episodes, I think the one I love the most is the third. Truth is revealed along with a lot of emotions you feel for your characters.

  • That and it had the least amount of dialogue in-between dungeons. Unlike number 2 the third one actually felt like a game instead of full length movies separated by pointless errands.

  • abortea

    adio detta

    imense ni

    adito dita

    maria

so beautiful ;_; *bursts into tears*

  • I keep staring at the picture on the screen, and it bothers me because I'm not entirely sure. One of the fighting machines appears to be E.S Reuben, but is it? And what about the other?

  • I'm not sure, I think they look like some kind of armoured exoskeleton that Kosy and Tely are wearing, because it responds to their colour schemes, and the Telosy one seems to have her handgun.

  • An interesting theory. Perhaps you're right.

  • It would have been awesome if T-elos had her own ES and it looked a bit like that!

  • remember last battle between E.S Reuben and E.S Levi...at the end another E.S that had the same color and apperance as this one on the picture!!!i think this one(picture) is the same as the one appeared at the end of the battle which sucked the anima vessel into it...or i am wrong?O.O

  • It is a bit like E.S Judah in appearance. Who knows?

  • I think on the left is E.S Reuben and on the right the E.S. that belongs to Kevin Winnicot. I can't put a name on it but I'm pretty sure it is his. Therefore, this song is a great one along with the picture =) <3 KOS-MOS

  • Yeah, Xenosaga Episode III's ending was very bittersweet.

  • thats why i creid like five time especialy with kos-mos......kupo

  • this song always reminds me kos-mos and the sad ending in xenosaga III

  • the storyline of this game is EXTREMELY! allegorical and metaphorical, every place person and object has some type of philosophical, esoterical or theological meaning ..... shit just the names of these 3 games alone is enough to show you how deep they are

  • xenosaga, final fantasy, tales series are the best rpg games ever

  • you are shit....kupo....burn bitch

  • This song is a representation of how one breaks out of their emotional phase and goes into their active phase. Ready to take on the world. Cherish the past that makes you stronger, stop your mourning, and hold your ground. The world is yours.

  • xenosaga 3 is one of the saddest endings ever.

  • @seshiomari That is good insperation for everyone. Words to live by.

  • @seshiomari you take pipe

  • I don't know what battle song is better - this or People Imprison By Destiny.

  • Oh wow Haha lemme explain what i meant, I was talking bout RPGs nowadays as in 2008-2009. THIS is the one of the classics im talking bout. Other wise i wouldnt take the time explaining myself if i didnt myself love the game. Sorry for the confusion.

  • Just people that are quickly to negative something before they read/ comprehend.

  • No one ask for your negativity. Xenosaga is a very nice game. Have you actually played it? It has a very unique story line.

  • LOL! You talk about true storyline, but this has one of, if not THE biggest storyline/universe of ANY game. Its extremely complex with HUGE amounts of emotion. When you talk of "classics", are you referring to FF1 where...you save the world by lighting crystals? AMAZING story there...or FF7? Kill the bad guy and save the world. Wow, even more amazing!

  • hey man dont make fun of FF, though the main plot might seem typical, the events that happen during the story are what make it good. though Xenosaga is very awesome too

  • sorry, i wasnt trying to make fun. I really am a big fan of FF. Its what got me into games really (FF8 and 9 being the best by far). I just think the storylines are way overrated.

  • yknow how ppl are. boosting everything popular creating useless hype

  • Xenosagas storyline is by far the best of any RPG ever, but if you think the storyline of FF7 is to kill the bad guy and save the world you really need to open your mind ... just noticed your comment below, FF8 and 9 by far being the best haha, they are just love stories nothing else, the most mundane concept there is .. top 5 story lines off the top of my head 1. Xenosaga 2. Chrono Cross 3. FF6 (so what if its just kill the bad guy and save the world lol, its much more) 4. FF7 5. FF tactics

  • I guess you havent played Xenogears, I love Xenosaga but I believe Xenogears is way better storywise.

  • Xenosaga PWNS...some of the music brings me to tears.

  • xenosaga is the best space opera Rpg

  • I've always liked Xenosaga, it was the interesting to play. The music was nice.

  • Ok, silly question, but where can I find a full size version of the pic used in this video?

  • Xenosaga III has the best themes in the Rpgs after the ff's series of course.

  • Xenosaga is lightyears ahead of FF in terms of amazing themes.

  • Only xenosaga ep3 has nice themes and they're realy gud as themes but if you've compared xenosaga and FF themes by lightyears I'm sure didn't realy play one FF at all.

  • actually..ive played and own nearly every FF released in NA. And, at least to me, Xenosaga's music is far better than the majority of FF music.

  • well if you say so... its your choice after after all

  • if somebody could tell me if there is a sheet music available for the piano, for this song that would be wondrful! and yes it is an amazing song!

  • The most... the best... there's no word to describe... KOS-MOS...

  • Epic-Win-sauce much, sad but still Epic-Win-sauce.

  • It's damn sad...it alwasy makes me gonna cry *schnief*

  • this song is really sad...but i like it^^

  • Thats right, wasn't this the theme when you battle T-elos? I mean the Mary version

  • Probably, the best battle theme I have ever heard. Even better than CC's Garden of the Gods/People imprisoned by destiny.

  • So haunting..I could cry :( KOS MOS is not dead dammit! *headbangs* XD

  • I thought she wasn't dead. At least that's what I gathered from the ending of the third game.

  • yeah as I recall she was a practically a floating torso in space heading towards a planet. Good news is that she is so small she probably won't burn up in the atmosphere. Actually, I'm kind of wondering if they are going to make a game specifically focused on Kos-Mos. I thought she was a particularly well fleshed out character, not to mention pretty like a flower.

  • Funny you should say that. There actually is a flower named "Kosmos" or "Cosmos". :-)

  • hey can you pass me that image??? please i love this game thanks

  • Best song out of the entire series.

  • great game never finished the first one though

  • i think that abel kid in xenosaga resembles fei in xenogears

  • Yeah, but that's more or less homage to Xenogears rather than a direct connection.

  • I'm filled with awe. I can't even accept nor think of something like "Before I die I can no longer play great games like this".

    Preposterous isn't it? =(

  • You know, Xenosaga III is probably the most tragic, depressing video game I've ever played. And the soundtrack does its job so perfectly. It's beautiful.

This, and the song for the boss battle that follows this one against the Red Testament and his ally... those who've been there know what I'm talking about. You need that song. I believe it's "The Harsh Truth".

  • they need to make at least one more xenosaga. i want to know what exactly happened to KOS-MOS.

  • Best Rpg, even though the 1st episode never had any songs lmfaoo, but wow...the 2nd and 3rd one were the SHIT!

  • KOS-MOS... I cried during the entire ending. It was one of the best endings I ever watched. I do miss you, KOS-MOS.

  • I think Xenosaga continues on Xenogears, which is a ps1 game. I know Xenosaga is finished so i do believe it continues on Xenogears.

  • Not really. The games are not directly linked to each other. Think of them like "Alternate Universe" versions of one another.

  • Actually they're in the same universe. The planet at the end that KOS-MOS is diffing over is assumed to be the planet that Xenogears takes place on. Xenogears takes place several thousand years after Xenosaga ends, but other than that I'm not sure about any of the specifics.. I really wish they would follow through on their original plans to make the entire Xenosaga series, there was supposed to be 5-6 games.

  • Not really, no.

Officialy, there is no direct connection. Any connection between the two is theorized by fans, but officially, they're two separate series.

And 3 was a condensed version of 3-6's intended plots, because 2 bombed so hard. That's why so much stuff happened in 3.

  • Comment removed

  • Actually, Ep. III (or the real Ep. II) ended the way it was supposed to, since that was the end of Shion's arc. In the original plan, a new arc would begin in the next two episodes (obviously, we see that plan went awry). Long story short, Shion's arc ends in Ep. III, and new one would begin if a new game was to be made, complete with new characters, with the exception of KOS-MOS and chaos

  • True, though actually the new crew from Episode II would most likely be the old crew reincarnated xD

  • this is very beautiful, but sad... very nice pic, KOS-MOS is so heroic!

  • KOS-MOS is not dead, just deactivated until someone can find and repair her.

  • I LOVE KOS-MOS i refuse to believe she is dead!!! i love the picture you used its beautiful

  • i cried when i was battling t-elos

  • The best song out of all the Xenosagas.

  • O KOS-MOS I miss you.

  • Pretty much the entire soundtracks for I and III (and most of II) would be on my featured video game music list. Not to mention Xenogears.

  • Is there any way of downloading the music from any site plz? I remember this game from ages ago. Im a big RPG fan and i have soundtracks from FF 7, 9 and 10 and was just wondering if anyone knew where to find this.... thanks

  • Whoa... I've never played this game, but the music was entrancing. It exercises great restraint, but it's that gentleness that gives it depth and beauty. Thank you very much for posting this one, SD.

  • My pleasure! I'm happy to see other people enjoying this one, even if they haven't played the game.

  • at what part does this play on the game

  • In the last fight with T-elos.

  • Hmm still have the 2nd one unbeaten on my shelf...Maybe its time to pick it back up....

  • This is one of my favorite Xenosaga songs, although there are way too many good ones to pick a favorite. Great choice, 5*.

  • can you tell me where you got that picture please?

  • That is an awesome picture, I'd like to know where I could obtain it as well.

  • If you haven't found it yet, I'll PM you the link.

  • Direct link to the artwork in the video's description. :)

  • Holy HUGE D:

I provided them with a smaller one XD
