I love the series and when I first watched the movie I was upset about how much was different, from the casting choices to how the story line flowed. So much was left out and so little was properly made clear. As far as the comments about how the clothes look nothing like the originals did, I feel that if they had of used those, then the entire cast would look like a bunch of silly people dressed in cosplay. But I give credit to M. Night Shyamalan, he made a film he wanted to make.
i thought the movie was good. it wasn't an exact representation of the show, and it wasn't as good as the show, but as a movie standing on its own, it was pretty good. they should have made it longer and slowed it down a bit, but if you don't compare it to the show and you just look at it as a movie, I guarantee that you will like the movie better...

It must be difficult to find people who looked exactly like the characters but it seems to me that they didn't try very hard =( Personally, I think Noah looks quite a bit like Aang with his shaven squeaky clean head but Dev Patel as Zuko? Oh the tragicness!! t's a shame Jesse Mccartney couldn't do it because in my head if you dye his hair, rub a bit of make up over his left eye it's not to bad of a job!! =D

i think the movie would have been better if they started it off near the end of the last season and just had flashbackes to key parts in the story throughout the movie, that way u could assume the things they didnt show from the cartoon still happened rather than cramming a whole season into 2 hours and cutting out so much. idk, does that make sense?

After Dragon ball, which was completely a big bullshit, some (of a lot of) the characters of "the Last Airbender" are not the one the fans (I'm one of them) would choose. I'm not racist, but when a character looks black, you have to choose a black actor and if he/she looks asian (like a chinese or japanese, cause Indian are also asian) then choose a good asian actor. It was great, even for a huge fan of the cartto like myself. At first I was concerned in the same ways you are and thought I would hate the movie. Then I watched it and thought it couldn't get any better. This movie is truly a return for Shyamalan.

i think dav patel would suit sokka much more that zuko. Dav patel has that goofy look and would definately bring some humor to the movie if he was sokka. Him serious will just make the movie wierd. And the age difference between katara and sokka is like 7 years. So far sokka is plain out serious. He looks way older thatn katara and very serious. This is making sokka something that he's not. but for Aang i think he's good. However i think he looks really serious as well. He also looks very young

i am personally fond of the decision to choose people of different races and. After all, the story takes place around an entire "world". Why shouldn't there be people of different ethnicities? and its nothing new for a movie adaptation of a cartoon to be different. theres no reason why this doesnt have potential to be a great movie.

i think the movie would have been better if they started it off near the end of the last season and just had flashbackes to key parts in the story throughout the movie, that way u could assume the things they didnt show from the cartoon still happened rather than cramming a whole season into 2 hours and cutting out so much. idk, does that make sense?

I agree most of the characters should be Asian.. and the only characters whose skin tones could have had Indian actors, though I think Latino actors would have been better (sokka and katara) are cast by white people.. I was excited about this movie until I saw the casting decisions and costumes... yuck. Way to disappoint billions of fans. M Knight Shyamalan sucks.

Horrible Cast!!!! After Dragon ball, which was completely a big bullshit, some (of a lot of) the characters of "the Last Airbender" are not the one the fans (I'm one of them) would choose. I'm not racist, but when a character looks black, you have to choose a black actor and if he/she looks asian (like a chinese or japanese, cause Indian are also asian) then choose a good asian actor. I don't like Zuko's characters and his hear is not the same as in the cartoon..Pfff, I hope the movie will be good :s

It was great, even for a huge fan of the cartto like myself. At first I was concerned in the same ways you are and thought I would hate the movie. Then I watched it and thought it couldn't get any better. This movie is truly a return for Shyamalan.

Zuko character is a good actor, I liked him in "Slumdog millionaire", but it's just that he doesn't look like Zuko, but I hope he can act like him...But someone told me that the movie was great, a fan, so I will follow his advice :)

i think dav patel would suit sokka much more that zuko. Dav patel has that goofy look and would definately bring some humor to the movie if he was sokka. Him serious will just make the movie wierd. And the age difference between katara and sokka is like 7 years. So far sokka is plain out serious. He looks way older thatn katara and very serious. This is making sokka something that he's not. but for Aang i think he's good. However i think he looks really serious as well. He also looks very young

Oh My God People! Dont judge the movie befor you actually see it at a movie theater! The Director is known for making exellent movies......so be patient and remember its a movie!!!! I personally am looking very much forward to its release in July. We were talking about what if they make this into a movie....we said that 2 and a half years ago and now they are! Im excited and I wont judge it till I see it! But by watching the Trailers....this is gonna be one kick ass movie!!

i am personally fond of the decision to choose people of different races and. After all, the story takes place around an entire "world". Why shouldn't there be people of different ethnicities? and its nothing new for a movie adaptation of a cartoon to be different. theres no reason why this doesnt have potential to be a great movie.
