@nichole307 Cold turkey is bad if you're chemically dependent because you'll smoke to relieve the craving, and the relief from craving is reinforcing. If you smoke in advance to keep cravings away, smoking is less likely to be reinforced. A cigarette won't come with the pleasant feeling of relief of cravings going away. That, plus you'll need time to restructure your life to exclude smoking. There is a reason they say that.
