hi there, u have an awesome looking tank...if you have any tips or suggestions for me check out my tanks i recently started on my channel! hope to hear from you soon...:)
hey i got a question bout saltwater tanks.. are they very high matience?... what kind of lighting do i need?.. im thinkin of turning my 10 gal tank into a small reef/fish tank.. any sugestions please?
Could you tell me how you got rid of the hair algae please? Ive got a nano cube 12 right now that is being overrun with hair algae and I really need help. Thanks.
With a tank that small it should be easy to get rid of by doing 50% water change each week for about 6 weeks or until it is gone. As it dies off from lack of nutrients keep changing the water because the dead algae will release the nutrients back in the water and spawn new growth. You are removing nutrients through water changes.
Alright thanks. Actually today, I took out all my water and took out all my corals and rocks and fish and scrubbed the algae off the rocks. Then after I scrubbed the rocks I put everything back in and I also bought some caulerpa algae to help with taking the nutrients out of the water. Also I bought about 5 snails from my local fish store. Anything else I should do? I was thinking about getting a bicolor blenny to eat any algae left.
Well I finallly got rid of the hair algae. My LFS sold me this Kent Marine Rock Prep and it has this little scrubber at the end. So I did a 100% water change and scrubbed all the algae off then put everything back together and dosed my tank with some API Algaefix and that got rid of it all. Now my tank is thriving with copepods and the coralline algae is growing everywhere.
Live Rock is not required but it is beneficial to every system. Consider buying a small piece here and there. You can catch it cheap sometimes from your local reef club. Which is much better then buying from LFS because it will be 100% cured and full of good bacteria and small life forms
when you have the right equipment EASY AS FUCK just stir up the gravel and get all the sediment out and 2 months of just sitting and cleaning the pump's
Anyone looking to set up a saltwater or reef tank should read about it and plan first. You should not be simply thinking about it and wondering if it is hard. If you read, then you will know.
