Freedom~do what you want when you want. American Freedom(that which is required in any civil community) requires responsibility. Where the freedoms of others are dependant on you, and your freedoms are dependant on the respect and actions of others toward your freedoms. We need rules in order to maintain order in society because criminals don't care about our freedoms only about their own. A free people must keep government in check. The states need to exercise the powers they have.

My own situation made me take a look at what is really happening here is America. Anyone who does not come into America legally is a CRIMINAL even If they don't ever break another law! Illegals should NOT be rewarded! My family came here 3 generations ago. I've heard stories about how my grandfather used to go into town every week to see if their paperwork had been approved. He did this for three years! One of my great-grandmothers proudest accomplishments was learning English!

I am an American and I want the fence built. I am not stupid nor would I consider it a prison. I do believe that as a nation we must secure our borders and protect our citizens. If you have a better solution to the horrible problems caused by unsecured borders by all means PLEASE let us all know. Until someone has a more effective way to keep us safe I will continue to support the building of that fence. I totally disagree with your assessment that to stop illegals we must become prisoners.

If the State respected your property rights and let you enforce your rights [in court] to your property there would not be any problem. You are your protection. If you want to assign government the task of protecting you you must give it authority over you. Very few understand what freedom truly is. Freedom is NOT relying on someone else to defend you, it is being able to defend yourself without fear of arrest or lawsuit. Arrest the criminals and leave others alone. Or enjoy your police State.

You should probably move to an island or something where you have the capability to protect ALL of it yourself. Talk about being a prisoner. I could never step out of my yard, to go to work, the grocery store or allow my children out of my yard because we would loose every bit of protection we had. We would be in an even smaller "safe" zone. I want my community to be safe, my state to be safe and my country to be safe. Sitting out on the front porch with a shot gun would NOT keep my family safe.

I am not against legal immigration...only the oned who break our laws. Anyone who comes here without following the proper channels is a criminal! I am sorry to hear that you can't leave your own front porch because of so many "illegal alien" criminals roaming your neighborhood. I've only had my hubcaps stolen once in 15 years. I strongly urge you speak to someone who's family members have been killed by an illegal driving without so much as a permit or insurance, as I am available when ever you want to talk. Respectfully: You are emotionally motivated into promoting and imposing slavery on all people. You don't know, and you don't know that you don't know. Arrest the killer and enforce restitution [as best as can be] for the injured. But DO NOT seek slavery for all because of one [or 1000] idiots. I am a Constitutionalist. YES. If a ship is sinking you plug the hole to stop the leak. After that is done you start bailing out the ship (deportation). This counts for all illegal aliens, including Canadians (and there are a lot of them, too).

The self serving political pigs must be weeded out. This is the real reason why our nation is in a tailspin. That fence should have been built by now. So just get the ball rolling and KEEP it rolling. There should also be armed U.S. Soldiers patrolling the border with a SHOOT ON SIGHT order. Mexico has stricter policies on border security than we do! Track down and prosecute companies that hire and contribute to the ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT PROBLEM. WTF
