@OB1974 Well I'm very happy that you're hearing this great song through me. It's by Lighthouse, of course. Thank you for your comment and my pleasure to sing it for you.
elliot, One of my all-time favourite songs from Lighthouse. You did an excellent job on this song.I also browse your other songs and enjoy them all. All are on my favourite playlists. Great vocals.Keep on recording. I will keep looking for more from you...Cheers
@658963 Right on! I'm really glad you liked what I did here for this great song. Thanks also for checking out some of my other stuff. I appreciate the encouragement and for sure I will keep going. C'mon back again.
elliott, had to comment again, I have sent this to family and friends, most who are musicians as well, all have said the same thing as I, excellent....
Great job Elliot! One of my all time favorItes.. It would be really nice to hear that song make the charts once again. You definitely do it justice. Go for it! Good luck...
@fmpk111 Every now and then I hear this on the radio and instantly feel great! I just love this kind of music and miss it badly. Thanks very much for your support.
@pilot9781 Awesome! I'm really glad you liked it. I'm so proud to do this song and now I think I've got it in my head to do a version of "One Fine Morning".
I just saw Lighthouse this past Saturday for the 3rd time since 1972! Met the nine- piece band as well! The current lead singer Dan Clancy is amazing and performs passionately! You've put your heart into this great piece as well (some back-up vocals would really add)! thanks for the post
Nice Job and good arrangement, I heard the song on the radio the other day and you forget how good it was, so I hunted it down to add to my song list, your right, not many on you tube, keep plugging along.
Really nice job. I'll pass it on to Skip. Have you visited Lighthouse's website or come out to see the band lately? If you plan to please let me know.
@brenbagel Hi Brenda. Once again, I'm so glad you wrote! I am working on another Lighthouse song, One Fine Morning, but I need to ask you if I am allowed to do a cover of it and post it here. I respect you and the band and would like to ask permission, if that is possible, to do the song. Of course I would credit the band and make it clear this is NOT my song. Thanks.
@brenbagel Has anyone heard the just released 9 unreleased songs By Bob Mcbride on youtube one of them is pretty lady.
The songs all sound GREAT some of the videos are dark but the songs are really good some of them should be on the radio like One Day at a time ,Youve Got It and more.

@TehRealCanadarocker Wow man, that's a cool thing to say. Wish I could claim that part but obviously not. Anyhow, appreciate the comment and hope to hear from you again down the road.
Fantastic rendition! I saw them in Baltimore in 1970-amazing. Bought two of their original albums a few months ago as I had misplaced them. Thanks for lots of smiles.
Listened again today, you'd think I had nothing else to do! Cannot get it out of my head. Loved Lighthouse during their reign. Really, you need to get your butt out of that classroom (I've been a teacher too) and into that studio. Saw Bob McBride sing it and, although he has stage presence, his voice has nothing on you. I am going to listen to some of your other songs and maybe pass on a few more thoughts. You should try Three Dog Night too! Maybe Easy to be Hard?
@parrothead7507 Thanks again for the encouragement. Yes I would like to get out of the classroom and spend more time (all my time?) in the studio. I also loved the Lighthouse era, first band I ever saw as a kid. I'm open to comments and suggestions. I don't have a studio set up now as my gear is being shipped from Indonesia back to canada. Couple months and we'll be up again. Thanks for listening.
Excellant song, great job overall. I saw you on television covering the disaster months ago. It's incredible seeing you first on the video then on international news. To wrap it up,this song takes me back to ninth grade and growing up. It is age less and sounds just as good decades later. God speed Elliott , Matt in N.E Ohio
@Hinsai I wanted to write you back earlier ... don't know what TV show you are referring to. Are you sure it was me? Either way, thank you for coming to my channel and watching my video. Thanks also for your great comment. Really appreciated.
This song brings back so many amazing memories from my high school days in the 70's when things were innocent and carefree. When I heard this for the first time today, it actually brought happy tears to my eyes. Beautiful song, and beautiful memories. Great job. thank you!
This classic will always be a great rock song. It embodied the hope, optimism and naivete of the time and Lighthouse was an outstandingly talented collection of musicians. Kudos for taking this on, doing it justice and most importantly, for capturing the joy and spirit of the piece. I've lost track of how many Lighthouse and Crowbar concerts I went to from 1970 onwards. But, as they say, if you can remember the '70s, you weren't there!
@monty1067 Great comment and feedback. Thanks so much for that and I couldn't agree more. This is a challenging some on some levels, especially to sing. But I'm very happy you came by and appreciate your comments.
Hey Elliot, been a while since we talked, I know you are out of the country and having (probably) having a great time. I guess there isn't a week that goes by that I don't play this soung. It really dones kick ass. Take care. Steve
@seemore2010 Hi Steve. Yep, still out of the country and doing fine. Thanks for coming back to this, really appreciate hearing from you and I hope you like some of the new originals. Best regards,
This song had a "Big" sound, & embodied the optimism that existed for a brief moment in 1972-73 until Watergate & the gas crisis knocked all that in the head...Too bad it didn't last, & too bad this record didn't do better. Certainly deserved to. But its special in its own way, to those of us who love it-& that weird, heady time so long ago...
I agree with you. Loved the record and most of their songs. Lighthouse was the first band I ever saw live when I was 10 years old and that concert always stuck with me. Thanks for watching and for your comment. :)
WOW! Holy Smokes, you are awesome... I agree its an epic song and even harder to sing but you didn't just nail it, you really did it well enough that Lighthouse and their fans would feel proud. To think that Prokop could sing this while drumming... but the arrangements and other stuff you knit together on the midi, etc, was simply amazing, too. I'm subscribing. Do you play any gigs in the GTA? Lot of people would wanna come and see you perform 'Live'. Keep it up! Thanks!!!
Thanks DrF. Really appreciate you taking the time to watch my video and comment on this great song (and how I did it). I'm in a foreign country right now but soon to return to just outside of the GTA. Thanks again.
Steve, I really appreciate your comments. I'm living in Jakarta now (from Canada) and my home studio is down so I can't do much recording here. But again, it's so great to hear this from you. Thanks man.
Anyone seen this on youtube live by Lighthouse. The studio version is on a couple of times. There's a great live version of One Fine Morning online, as well as a pretty good live cover by some band in Toledo.
cool!! btw, when i asked if anyone had seen lighthouse doing this live, i meant has anyone seen it, because i haven't seen it anywhere. wouldn't want you to search for something that probably isn't there. :) thanks for a good song.
What a terrific job on a song that could be very easy to "miss" on . You have this distinctive tune "nailed". You really put yourself into this...lots of talent! Keep it up!
Hey thanks a lot! I know what you mean, it would have been very easy to "miss" on this, the singing is so distinctive and somehow it's not that easy to do it justice. Anyhow, I do appreciate your comment and thanks again.
Great job. Strolling around Youtube tonight and I must say I'm very impressed with your rendition.I hadn't heard this song in years.Good memories for sure. Two thumbs up from a Canadian in Ohio.
Hey there Canadian in Ohio! Glad you came by. I also hadn't heard the song in so long and at the time I did it, don't think there was any other versions on youtube except original. Thanks for watching.
Elliot, I've put this song on my favorites list. As I said before you sound like McBride would've sounded if he had sang lead on this song. Keep up the good work. CANADA ROCKS!!
Thank you and what an excellent choice of music to attempt. I am not in my home town anymore and can't fully set up my studio to do stuff like that. But thanks so much for suggesting Chicago.
Thank you for your comment and subscription. I'm in Jakarta now (far from my old home in Canada) and I'm unable to set up my studio ... for now I am recording duets with my fiance on her laptop. Hope you will watch some of those. Best regards.
Hey cool! I saw them when I was 10 or 11 and then Skip (drummer) a few years ago playing with another band. Thanks for stopping by and for commenting.
Great Job, great mixing, great vocal, I just learned this lastnight on Guitar, but Lighthouse plays this song in Bb which is lower in vocals than in the C range that you played it in. Not that it is bad, songs can sound better in the Key that makes you sound best. Is that why you played it in that key? Anyway sounded good, I'll have check out more of your postings.
Hey thanks a lot for those comments! I noticed when I did some research on the song that they played it in Bb, might be good for horns but a drag for guitar so I switched it to something more enjoyable to play. Yeah, please do check out more of my videos and let me know if you want to talk about any of them.
Great cover, I love this song. Actually I heard it on the radio yesterday and couldn't remember who did it originally. I didn't expect the DJ to tell me, but she did. Shocking these days. Anyway I looked it up on youtube and here I am. I take it from your opening dialogue that you're from the London area? I just moved here from Toronto 2 weeks ago. I'll be here for 2 years or so. Do you play live?
So glad you like my version of the song ... and also that they still play it on the radio. What a great song! I hope you enjoy living in London. I have played here live but I am not staying much longer, I'm on my way to Indonesia to teach there but I'll keep up the YT videos
Yes, please do! Good luck in Indonesia. The most beautiful women I've ever met were from Malaysia and Thailand respectively.I had planned to teach in Japan at one point, but I didn't end up doing it. I still plan on touring around East and South-East Asia one of these years. There's a great band from Jakarta called White Shoes & The Couples Company. sort of loungy '70's soft pop - check 'em out in my favourites section. Cheers!
Wow, not bad. I have been looking for years for some kind of video of lighthouse doing this song, as it is one of my all-time favorites. You did a great job.
Elliot, this song and version is off the charts great. There is some amazing pop/rock music from the 70's and you definately nailed this great song! I am a rare american who 'discovered' Lighthouse and love their musical skill and songwriting. Have you ever heard 'Moonlight Lady'' by Bob Mcbride (of Lighthouse)? It's super smooth and gorgeous like Pretty Lady. If you don't have it let me know. You would shine on it. Keep up the great work. We need more music from you!
I think the brass can overwhelm a song at times, and the lyrics are so good with this song and your voice is so smooth that it's better without the brass emphasis. This came out in the Chicago and Blood Sweat and Tears era that used a lot of brass they these songs don't get much airplay now it seems. Maybe people have less interest in the brass stuff these days. Great job, and keep on putting out the hits!
Nicely explained there frisbeegirl and thanks for the compliment in there. I love Chicago and BSandT and would love to hear more of them on the radio but i guess you're right. Great to hear from you.
I loved the original and I love this version, too--great job! This one's a l little smoother and softer--less brassy maybe? It reminds me of the remake Todd Rundgren did of "I Saw the LIght"--loved his original and loved his remake. You really hit all the notes--I'm singing along here with you, and I've got my whole family listening to it, too here--we all love it.
Thank you very much! Definitely less brassy since I did all those horns using a guitar synth and I'm not very skilled at that, just doing what I can. Really happy you were singing along and got the family involved ... I loved that part of your comment.
I guess the best compliment i could give you Elliott is to say if you would have sang the song originally for Lighthouse,it would have been just as big a hit ! Kudo`s to you.
I saw Lighthouse a few years backat a local summerfest..they can still put it together!..I gotta admit I was skeptical about how anyone could pull of this song..as someone who rarely likes remakes of any type by any artist..I will admit that you did it justice!..kudos to you for not messing around with the timeless memories I have associated with this classic..very well done..I'd certainly be in line buying a ticket to see you play..do you do any requests?..Mike from Northern Ontario
I want to thank you for this comment. When I decided to attempt this song, I was wary ... for the very reasons you stated. I generally dislike remakes of classic songs, but I had to try. Thanks a lot for your support on this, i really tried to keep the spirit of this amazing song. And thanks for that comment about tickets to see me play. Please give me a request and let me see if i can handle it.
Hi laurenligocki, i'm glad you appreciated this and thank you for coming by. I have a new original (actually written by a friend) to post tonight so i hope you will return for that.

cool!! btw, when i asked if anyone had seen lighthouse doing this live, i meant has anyone seen it, because i haven't seen it anywhere. wouldn't want you to search for something that probably isn't there. :) thanks for a good song.
jwmellott 2 years ago
I'm pretty sure I did a search before I recorded this to see how many (if any) covers were out there and there were none ... I think. ;)

What a terrific job on a song that could be very easy to "miss" on . You have this distinctive tune "nailed". You really put yourself into this...lots of talent! Keep it up!
2tryhard 2 years ago

Nice job on a tough song to sing. Love the sound of both your version and Lighthouse's version. This song still sounds fresh today.
bigroo1961 2 years ago
It was tough to sing this ... its not such a complicated song but somehow it isn't easy to do. Thanks a lot!

Hey, just wondering, how long did you live in London Ontario? I've lived here all my life, and I'm glad there's so much talent from this city. =D

I lived in London for about 18 years.

One of my favs too! Love songs like this. Thank you.

Very well done Zerobio , i subscribed to you, looking forward to some more vids from you.

Thank you for your comment and subscription. I'm in Jakarta now (far from my old home in Canada) and I'm unable to set up my studio ... for now I am recording duets with my fiance on her laptop. Hope you will watch some of those. Best regards.

TOUCHTONE9 2 years ago

Do you play live?
satomiwa 2 years ago
So glad you like my version of the song ... and also that they still play it on the radio. What a great song! I hope you enjoy living in London. I have played here live but I am not staying much longer, I'm on my way to Indonesia to teach there but I'll keep up the YT videos
zerobio 2 years ago
Yes, please do! Good luck in Indonesia. The most beautiful women I've ever met were from Malaysia and Thailand respectively.I had planned to teach in Japan at one point, but I didn't end up doing it. I still plan on touring around East and South-East Asia one of these years. There's a great band from Jakarta called White Shoes & The Couples Company. sort of loungy '70's soft pop - check 'em out in my favourites section. Cheers!

Cool! Great to hear all this and I will check out that group. Thanks and good luck.

Wow, not bad. I have been looking for years for some kind of video of lighthouse doing this song, as it is one of my all-time favorites. You did a great job.

Yeah I also love the song. Did what I could with it here. Thanks for watching and commenting.
zerobio 2 years ago
Elliot, this song and version is off the charts great. There is some amazing pop/rock music from the 70's and you definately nailed this great song! I am a rare american who 'discovered' Lighthouse and love their musical skill and songwriting. Have you ever heard 'Moonlight Lady'' by Bob Mcbride (of Lighthouse)? It's super smooth and gorgeous like Pretty Lady. If you don't have it let me know. You would shine on it. Keep up the great work. We need more music from you!

Thanks so much for this great comment, really appreciate. I will look for that song. I like bob mcbride's voice a lot. Thanks again.

Great job, and keep on putting out the hits!
frisbeegirl1613 3 years ago
Nicely explained there frisbeegirl and thanks for the compliment in there. I love Chicago and BSandT and would love to hear more of them on the radio but i guess you're right. Great to hear from you.
zerobio 3 years ago
I loved the original and I love this version, too--great job! This one's a l little smoother and softer--less brassy maybe? It reminds me of the remake Todd Rundgren did of "I Saw the LIght"--loved his original and loved his remake. You really hit all the notes--I'm singing along here with you, and I've got my whole family listening to it, too here--we all love it.
frisbeegirl1613 3 years ago
Thank you very much! Definitely less brassy since I did all those horns using a guitar synth and I'm not very skilled at that, just doing what I can. Really happy you were singing along and got the family involved ... I loved that part of your comment.

I guess the best compliment i could give you Elliott is to say if you would have sang the song originally for Lighthouse,it would have been just as big a hit ! Kudo`s to you.
Excompetitor 3 years ago
Wow, yes that is the best compliment you could give me and I'm grateful for you to even suggest it. Really nice to hear this from you. :)
zerobio 3 years ago
I saw Lighthouse a few years backat a local summerfest..they can still put it together!..I gotta admit I was skeptical about how anyone could pull of this song..as someone who rarely likes remakes of any type by any artist..I will admit that you did it justice!..kudos to you for not messing around with the timeless memories I have associated with this classic..very well done..I'd certainly be in line buying a ticket to see you play..do you do any requests?..Mike from Northern Ontario
JCMisHK 3 years ago
I want to thank you for this comment. When I decided to attempt this song, I was wary ... for the very reasons you stated. I generally dislike remakes of classic songs, but I had to try. Thanks a lot for your support on this, i really tried to keep the spirit of this amazing song. And thanks for that comment about tickets to see me play. Please give me a request and let me see if i can handle it.
