Lifting boxes at UPS five nights a week, four hours a night is the ultimate workout. It may not do much for triceps and pecs, but I got shoulders and lats like a bodybuilder! I go to 24-hour fitness for the muscles UPS doesn't get.
@MadeAugust18th : I've made some advances in bicep curl since this video was taken. In all honesty this video shows me lifting very modest weight. I pumped up a little using heavier weights before the shot. My bench press with dumbells has gone up significantly. Putting up the 90 lbs, dumbells ... which is good for a guy my size.
@AxeBlack84 : I started out in the gym back in 1993. But I have made my greatest gains from the past 7 years. Particularly this past year where bodybuilding became my focus.
@EngineRailroad : Seriously that was not much at all. It was just about 50 lbs (including bar). I had a done a heavy set prior to this one in order to get the "pump". I chose a light weight just to insure the form was right for the video.
your like my buddy , he lives in Jacksonville, Illinois, he loves to lift weights and collect games as well,, i hate illinois man , lived here almost my whole life really cold right now, oh i made a new pickup vid check it out if you get the chance please that would mean alot =D
@sybnios: Thanks man! Seriously though ... I do believe in training all muscle groups and achieving symmetry. I do legs, back, shoulers, etc. The bucep curl is actually a bit over-emphasized by most ... but it makes for an impressive video! LOL! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@matpunk88: Well, I'm sure there's got to be some guys out there who are into bodybuilding AND gaming. But yeah, I've been told it's an unusual mix. :-)
@MrStanteno: I'm not lifting much in this video at all! There are just two 10 lbs weights and the bar (which I estimate to be around 30 lbs.) That just 50 lbs.! But in all honesty, I selected a "moderate" weight for this video because I didn't want to mess up on form. Prior to this shot I was curling about 80 lbs. to get a nice "pump" for the recording! LOL! My goal in the gym is physique, so I don't lift as much as most of the guys on the floor. But I curl the 45 lbs dumbells with decent form.
@MrStanteno: I only use a couple supplements. There are two inparticular from the BSN product line: Cell Mass, and No-Xplode. Cell Mass helps you build. No-Xplode is a prep for your workout ... gives you energy and focus. I take BCAA, HMB, and Nitrix ... which I go on and off. Funny you should mention whey... I don't take it. But I may take a protien powder called Syntha 6 in March to help gain mass for the summer. But always remember ... REAL food is your best bet for building muscle ..ALWAYS.
cut up look is always nice, yeah ronnie coleman endorses that no-ex. never tried it though. im focusing on all around mass gain, mass xxx new line is pretty nice.
Woah your 37??? I thought you were in your twenties ... well your pretty jacked man lol .. Im like you .. I love collection and playing video games and i'm body building training right now too! :P
@rune133: Thank you for the compliment! Yeah, I've loved video games since I was in first grade. Back then we had Atari 2600. I remember when there was a "systems war" among the Atari 2600, IntelliVision, and Colecovision! Bodybuilding is the lifestyle I chose in adulthood. I used to be overweight and unhappy before I started going to the gym. Whenever I didn't feel like lifting, I used to look at some of my old fat" pictures ... that'd get me going! LOL! Thanks for commenting and watching!
@funexplorer1; Good for you! Remember, the other guys in the gym can be a great source of knowledge. Hopefully they can show you proper form and lifting technique! Bodybuilding is 3 things: 1. Exercise, 2. Diet, 3. Sleep. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@Caztro72 Yeah, I rember you saying that in a video. Sadly, my trainer works in a small gym inside a YMCA type place. So little kids EVERYWHERE!! lol. So, there arent many guys to talk too inside the worlds biggest junglegym :0.
Good job Anthony!! Thanks for giving us a peek at one of your workouts :) "Smile".. lol. I think its tough when your mind is so focus on the curls right?
@PhatPhunk: At first I was a bit too shy to record myself in the gym. But my workout partner said he'd be willing to work the recorder. And there weren't too many people around on the weight room as it was late. Thanks for watching and commenting, Brett!
Beastin' dude. I never bothered with isolation lifts and always opted for compound lifts...like a power lifter. Then eventually my schedule got so lame I had to drop lifting and stick to just running and training for marathons. Now I've got time and need to start training again.
Should have posted a different exercise though to many people think curls are the only lift and that's all you need to do. Post some Dead Lifts or squats. :D
@JerryTerrifying: Power lifting isn't my thing. I'm really don't focus on strength. Physique is my goal. I lift just enough to get my muscles working hard. And I switch between heavier weight/low rep (on months I want to put on the mass) and moderate weight/higher rep (on months I want to cut up - like before summer). Watching my diet is the hardest part of the workout. Yeah, I know the bicep curl is over emphasized by most. But my dead lift and squat just wouldn't be as impressive for a video.
Well it's not neccessarily good to only train specific muscle groups. If you've got a beastin upper body your scrawny back won't be able to prop it up and people with huge upper boddies and chicken legs look weird :P
Also the most important lift is the squat. It's the largest muscle group in the body so it'll put on more mass making you able to produce more testosterone which will ultimately help you but on more muscle everywhere else. Even a Body builder should train all muscle groups.
@JerryTerrifying: You are correct. I myself have 5 training days: 1. Front and side delts (shoulder day), 2. Lats, traps, rear delts, lower back (back day), 3. Pecs (chest day), 4. Quads, hamstrings, calves, gluts (leg day), and 5. bicep, tricep, forearem (arm day). And pretty much Abs every other day. And always 30 plus minutes of cardio before and after lifting. Yeah, I trained with a guy named Mark Greenspon (Mr. Illinois 2000) -he told me the squat involves "total body". I don't skimp on it.
@echo036: Most people really don't know that I love video games (and collecting them) until I tell them. I guess my bodybuilder image doesn't exactly jive with what they think a video gamer should look like. I think the stereotypical "video gamer" image is about to be shattered in the coming years. EVERYONE plays games now, and one day we may even have a president who grew up loving Nintendo Wii or Xbox 360!
you should do a update video on your workout and body
