Ive got a few questions for the people that know something about the Podxt (or maybe HighlandReid if you would reply). Apperently the Podxt needs a real amp (or speakers ofc). My amp is a Peavey Vypyr 15. Id like to get better sounds out of my amp, so should it be advisable to buy a Pod (or any other stompbox), or should i just buy a better amp? (this one was 110 euro's). And can i get a finer sound out of my amp if i get one of these? And last, can u use this for live performances?

Your amp has way enough electronic already, putting a pod in front of it won't make it sound better. If you wanna go with a pod sell your vypir and get a pair of decent active speakers.

El problema es en el fimeware, ademas supongo que nunca leiste el manual y no supiste configurarrla bien, ademas no se trata de un multiefectos, si no de un EMULADOR de amplis, ademas no creo que sea un standar en los estudios de grabacion si suena bien porqueria como dices, mas bien no tuvieste el tiempo y la paciencia de probarlo

well....fender amps are garbage after all...

(except the reverbs for jazzy stuff).

Depending on the model you have the amplifier or the speakers may ne the problem.

But here is what i would do:

- try to not use any eq´s or effects from the amp at all

- Try to experiment with the input volume/output volume settings of your amp...you MIGHT find a spot/configuration, that sounds better than the others - keep it!

- once thats done...edit yourpod-tones to fit the weaknesses of the amp-sound

Diminished scale meaning: go up one and a half step each time, this is a dimished scale. ( only 4 different notes in this scale)

So for example from the low E string you play E - G - Bb - Db and then youre back to E. repeat this higher . So it's a very symmetrical scale. one and a half step each time.

I've had one for almost 2 years and there are many many things you can do with it....all except achieve a good distorted tone. The response is weak and thin on all the amp models especially on the low end. There is no effect(s) that will help. NOT a true effects tool..more of a toy.

i usually hear and use analog/stompbox/drive from amp and when i heard the amp models..it was really thin...no offense.

so i came up w/ a sansamp triac to replace the drive section (amps and stompboxes)

with amp bypass (no cabinet & mic simul.) no stompbox as well. finally,the sounds great to my ears, much more better, compare to the XT's amp models. the modulation & delay effects are more than enough for me.

You can do so much shit with this pedal it's amazing. I sufficed the Line 6 FM4 filter model for this. Extremely good for tone. And yes you can record with it. It has a USB port

PodXT Rocks, It's so versatile, but I will warn you- you have to pay a total of 150 dollars for all the extra mods, stomps, etc. (it was $100 on sale once) Don't let that scare you away from the pod, most of the tones from the classic and metal add-ons are easily achieved with some tweaking of the default effects, and the FX Junkie add-on has mods and stomps so out there, you'd probably never use them.

Yes you can record with it. It's got USB drivers to record with, or just DI into your soundcard/mixer.

I've had mine for years (4 or 5 I think) and it's still going strong. Loads of tones online too.

hmm lets see, this will make anything sound great first off. pod x3 is good for home, bad for live. pod xt is a podx3 with a few things missing and 100 dollars in your pocket. xt live is foot-friendly, is easy to use, and is the same price as an x3.
