Of course you can rev honda engines up to 8000 rpm. Even if you double a b16 engine you end up with 3.2L. This think has a 5.2L engine. The piston inertia is completely different between the 2 engines hence the redline difference, it also has to do with the bore and stroke combination. I love hondas but please if your going to defend them, do it intelligently.
there are other problems bigger than just inercia in that case like valvetrain setup, engine block configuration, stroke/ rod ratio and so one because if you look only at displacemant is not a huge difference on displacemente per cylinder:

Thats stupid... thats not a V10, thats exactly how the 4.2 sounds at 8000. First of all the V10 doesnt rev to 8000. Second, have you ever heard an audi V10 at 7000 rpms, its very throaty and sounds nothing like the V8.
The original Le Mans concept was a 602bhp 5.0L turbocharged V10 - search google for Audi Le Mans quattro. There is a current concept based on a v12 tdi diesel engine.

5.2l / 10 cylinders = 520cc
1.6l / 4 cyinders = 400cc or 2.0 liters /4 cylinders = 500cc

The Le Mans concept car was a v10, but the r8 roadcar is a 420PS 4.2L v8 - same as the rs4 only dry sump in the r8.
